    This is absolutely one of the WORST APPs I've ever experienced…read more In order to get a visa from Australia, you have to download their APP. My wife and I did that around a month ago. As of now, we have NOT been able to obtain a visa. You must use your iPhone only. 1. You have to Scan passport 2. You have to Scan passport ID 3. You have to take a Selfie (or have someone take it). THIS is where the headaches start! There's instructions and an Arc in which you put your head/face in. Problem is it keeps telling you to "Center your face", Move phone in, Move phone out, Hold phone still, etc. When you do have it centered, and holding the phone still... the APP does NOT take the photo. The first time we tried to do this, we spent FOUR hours trying to get the photo. How long can you keep your arms out? When you stop to rest, sometimes the APP goes away. Or you have to Cancel the APP. At this point, you have to do Steps 1 and 2 all over again to get to Step 3. We try to follow the instructions on their website.. all during daytime, and trying multiple scenarios. We pose against a white / grey / plain background. No glare, plenty of lighting. We have attempted in various rooms in our house. Bedroom, study, kitchen, dining room... Lights blazing overhead, lights on desks, and we even tried it in the washroom with mirrors and of course, all lights on. Also, with curtains pulled wide open and plenty of light coming in, but no glare or reflections. We have also gone outside with plenty of light, no glare or overhead light causing shadows. We have used 2 separate iPhones. We have sat down in chairs, in well-lit places all over the house and outdoors ... with the other taking photo, or attempting a selfie. We even had a third person trying to take our photo. All of these attempts over the past month has caused a lot of aggravations and stress. I tried to contact using the contact on their website and received an email back. Basically, I was told to follow instructions on their website, and follow instructions concerning lighting, etc. I DID! I told them that. AND asked where I can go to get help. Also, I asked if another option would be: Could I just scan the passport photo page, as well as take a selfie and upload it to their website, which would be much easier for everybody attempting to obtain a visa. This could be attachments or posted on their website somewhere. NO RESPONSE TO THIS QUESTION. Second response pointed me back to website. After my third and fourth attempt to reach them, I have received NO response. Meanwhile, I tried to call the Australia Embassy. It was after their Open hours (9-5) and got a recorded message right away, stating that they do NOT handle visas or passports! Wonderful! I then called them during their Open hours, and got different options, nobody answered, and basically that they do NOT handle visas or passports. One of the Questions I emailed back after Second Response was whether or not they could interceded on my behalf at the Australian Embassy. Of course, NO RESPONSE AT ALL. I tried AAA and when I talked to one of their travel agents, as soon as I mentioned Australian visa, she laughed. Unfortunately, they don't handle visas. I tried FedEx and UPS, thinking that since they take passport photos, they might do Visas... Unfortunately, the answer is no. The travel agency tried to help, point to one of their "associate" companies that handle visas, etc. Guess what? They do NOT handle Australian visas!!!!! Wonder why??? But they do handle New Zealand. --- We had to also apply for a New Zealand visa. Guess what? They also do the visa via their APP. My wife and I downloaded their APP on our iPhones. After 10 minutes and 2 tries on my part, we both got our Visas! ------ I also noticed a lot of comments on the Australian website, some going back to 2021 or 2022 on how BAD their APP was. One user even called it "User hostile". Many expressed their frustrations at how laborious and long it took before they finally got a visa. ----- As an aside, I have been to and/or obtained visas without any problems to: Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Turkey, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, various Eastern Europe countries, Russia, Peru, Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Mexico, Morocco, Andorra, etc. I do not recall any problems even coming close to the problems I have had so far with Australia. WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT TO OBTAIN A VISA THERE? WHY AREN'T THEY MORE HELPFUL? WHY DON'T THEY CHANGE THEIR SOFTWARE TO BE MORE 'USER FRIENDLY'??????????????

    Worst app for buying gum, let alone trying to travel. No one to assist at airline. Clunky chip…read morereading need. Australia do better!
