They're undeniably popular and their reviews obviously speak for themselves. I suppose that's part of what makes my experience worth noting. I called Critter Removal Indianapolis due to a squirrel in my home that I'd been unable to address myself or with assistance. I called Critter Removal Indianapolis on a Wednesday and made arrangements the next day for one of their employees to come by the house the next day at noon. While I hate having to miss work, this squirrel had become a major nuisance. The appointment was scheduled for noon - I was sent a link to be able to track my appointment (a cool touch, though also a bit alarming as the time changes and my appointment ended up happening around 1:30pm). I'd e-mailed them through their website and had gotten a response pretty quickly with a general idea of pricing. That went well. Once the employee arrived, he explained the process - essentially photographing trouble spots, developing a plan, submitting the paperwork to the office, getting an estimate, and then agreeing in writing to the estimate. I hadn't been aware there was sort of a pre-step, somewhat disappointing, but I remained hopeful. I made it clear to the employee that the squirrel was actually in my home - not a crawl space, basement, or attic. It was actually in my living space. It was actually in my living space when he came out. As he was taking photographs, the squirrel was walking across my kitchen counter. Seriously. The estimate came and I agreed quickly after a review of it. It was actually lower than the original price range. I was told they could be out the next morning and that I would not need to be home. I had every hope that they'd arrive on Friday and get the critter quickly. However, when I got home it was clear that hadn't happened. There had been no signs of actual arrival (and no contact). Over the weekend, things got worse and ultimately a friend ended up calling what she thought was the company to basically say "Why are you not out there?" Let's be honest. It was a legit question. She actually had called a different company that came within the hour. Within a half hour or so, the squirrel was caught and removed. And yes, it was in my kitchen when caught. To Critter Removal's credit (Hannah specifically), they were perfectly polite and gracious when I e-mailed them Sunday and said the squirrel had been caught and explained the situation. I canceled my appointment. So, here we go. Great initial inquiry. Friendly people and very thorough. However, I can't help but feel like policy came before people here. While all critter issues are important, a critter in a living space is sort of an elevated concern both because of safety and potential biohazard due to waste. As a wheelchair user, I was at even greater risk of potential infection. There was a lot of good here. I don't want to dismiss that. But, if we're being honest, given the circumstances it's pretty inexcusable that after being told on Wednesday a critter was in the house and after having been in my home the next day, I should have had help well before Sunday afternoon when the issue finally got resolved. While I might consider calling Critter Removal again for more preventative measures (I did like some of their plans), if I were in a crisis? I would have to look elsewhere.

Upon completion, they honored my request to text me when the work was done and to let me know the invoice had been emailed (I get so much spam and didn't want to miss it!). Travis was amazing. His price was more than fair, he talked with me directly the entire time from start to finish (and he spent a couple of hours there longer than anticipated), and sent me both before and after pictures of his work. He also tried to close-up the holes as best he was able to. Added bonus: the multiple nests caused exterior damage. After Jeff installed the cage around the vent on the roof and removed the traps, the noise had stopped and I thought the problem was gone. However, the noises came back. The noise is intermittent and not every day. I called Jeff again August 25 and he came back out the next day. Since it had been two months, we had to pay the initial fee all over again. He didn't remember me until he was on his way out to the house, but I understand he deals with many customers. He checked around the roof again and saw no points of entry. Only a very small hole near the gutters. He thought it must be mice and did throw the poison we already had up in the attic opening for me. He didn't set traps because he might catch a random squirrel that isn't the attic resident (and we would have to pay per animal that is trapped). He also didn't seem like he could climb up into the attic opening. The noise seemed to go away again, but now I keep hearing something off and on at least four times since he was here. The noise is usually during the day and doesn't sound like mice to me, but of course it rarely makes noise when someone else is around. Jeff is a nice guy and I appreciate him coming out, but I am at a loss as to what to do since my problem still isn't resolved. I am not saying I would not recommend him, but for my particular issue, I need someone that can actually get into the attic and assess exactly what has taken up residence in there. It gives me a very uneasy feeling not knowing what it is or what sort of damage it is doing. They put a one way door and traps; said they would be back every couple of days. When they came back they asked if we heard any noise. Of course we said no, (We work all day & when we come home its dark; squirrels don't move around that much at night). They locked it up with a metal plate and took away the trap. Well guess what.... the Squirrel is still in there. It has been scratching around the metal plate causing HUGE damage in our roof .. and to make matters worse, the squirel decided to go on a road trip and now it has moved to the other side of the house- running up & down the walls! We bought more traps, called Critter control again & the tech said.. "IT should die soon!" (Tech didn't come out) He just told us to mark the wall so once it dies & the smell comes, we can cut it out!! Wait a min... WHAT!! Story gets better... very next day, Squirel scratched his way out of the walls & is now in the crawl space. Called Critter control again; left message. We decided to buy more traps, and a camera. the Squirrel walks up the camera and looks at it. We texted Critter Control showing them the footage - need someone out ASAP - they said they have no techs available. REMIND you this has been going on over a month Jan & FEB! In my home. After a couple close calls in trying to either capture it or get it to leave my home voluntarily, my unwanted housemate was starting to do enough damage that a few days ago I contacted a trapping company that had been recommended to me by a friend. We got through the estimates, agreed upon a time, and I got ready for what I hoped would be a quick exit for this squirrel. Unfortunately, the next day came and went. We arrived on a weekend and I was looking at the likelihood of three more days with this squirrel wandering around my kitchen, living room, bedroom, etc. freely. A friend of mine jumped in. I gave her the name of the company and she was going to plan contact on my behalf - sort of a "Where are you?" call. Instead, she called the wrong company. She got in touch with Kirk from Admiral Wildlife Services. After a phone conversation, Kirk arrived at my home within the hour with traps, bait, and even an adorable dog with an appetite for squirrels. Sadly, the dog would go home disappointed. The squirrel had been hanging out in my living room all morning, however, by the time Kirk got to the house it had hidden. I was almost 100% sure where it was at, but it was proving difficult to coax out. Kirk set some traps in my small home. He took some time to look around my house for future steps to squirrel-proof the area. He was planning to go be on his way, though he would return when the squirrel entered the trap (and he was certain it would). Before he could even leave, his remarkable hearing heard the low sounds of the squirrel. It was an absolute blast to watch Kirk listen - knowing that the squirrel had noticed the trap and was likely moving toward it. Bingo. He got it. Kirk was able to remove the squirrel, which a friend of mine called "as big as a cat," and decided to go ahead and leave a couple traps just to make sure (though I was completely certain the captured squirrel was the one I'd been seeing). We could also hear squirrels in my chimney. While I could possibly say Kirk's included services planned were a little less comprehensive, the truth is he responded quickly, got the job done, took the urgency seriously, removed the squirrel humanely, is keeping traps in place, and also came up with some needed stuff for the house to really make sure things are okay once the snow melts and my 70-year-old house is a little more vulnerable. Kirk is super professional, very friendly, and just plain got the job done. In short, there's simply no doubt I'd use him again as he absolutely delivered on an issue that was really starting to stress me out. I'm extremely happy - and I no longer have an unwanted housemate.
