The front of the inn is like a porch. Its well maintained. The King room I had was huge. I love that I could easily control the temperature. Bed is comfy and so are the pillows. Overall a nice room. Theres an indoor pool in the hotel, that I did not use. There's also a small gym area with just machines, no weights. Not a bad place to stay in Springfield.

The rooms themselves are quite spacious with comfortable beds and a nice restroom. The beds come with plenty of pillows and a mattress that's not too firm and a good set of blankets and sheets. The furniture and appliances around the room are fairly basic, and will get the job done to ensure that you have a comfortable stay. The breakfast is pretty good here, with plenty of juice and hot drink options. The eggs, waffles, sausage are the hot items with cereals, breads, yogurt, apple, banana, oatmeal, and other items providing a good way to have a quick bite before you leave for the day. The dining room is pretty spacious so you'll be able to enjoy your meal without feeling cramped. Once you walk through the door you are greeted by a warmly decorated lobby with chairs, couches, bookcases, TV, and business center. It is set off from the rest of the lobby, yet open at the same time. This hotel also features a convenience store area, pool (unfortunately, no tub), fitness center, and breakfast area. Entering the room, I was struck by how nice the room was spacious it was. There were two queen size beds and there was still room for a chair and stool with room to spare. The rooms come with a coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave. It has all of the standard amenities but I was impressed that the regular bar soap was replaced with Dove Beauty Bars. Since my skin gets dried out by the standard bar soaps this was a nice and welcome feature. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The hotel was quiet and I was able to have a nice night's sleep. The breakfast was held in a nice big room with plenty of seating for many guests. They offered a lot of food from eggs and sausage to waffles to cereal to yogurt to bagels and bread. Coffee, hot chocolate, fruit juices, milk and water were offered as drinks. This hotel is located close to the Illinois State Fairgrounds and is ten minutes from downtown and the State Capitol. The IL State Fair offers so much to do!…read more First off they have regular events here all year round plus the annual state fair! During the yearly fair they offer it all . How about a cow made of pure butter? They have all sorts of different animals to pet. They have a chair lift that moves people around. Lots of Ferris wheels and the fair foods. Mmmm! All those good things coming soon. On the fair grounds they have relics to the past of Route 66. Do you remember the drive in? Those days! They have died out but they have captured what the drive in looked like. They have pieces of Route 66 history that was headed to be destroyed, they have saved it here. Walk in the past days of those road trips that we have taken. You can share them yet again with those who have not seen them. Now we were here to see a bike show. Every lap around the track the bikes wiz by so loudly you cannot even think . Now how about that for an afternoon. Parking is free and the fair grounds are open year round. Now what's stopping you the joys of the fair are upon you.

This time around I had a hard time tolerating any of the food, everything I tried other than ice cream just did not seem appetizing. It was hot ! Always fun to see the bustling nature of things here, explored the Route 66 and some of the other parks filled with all kinds of activities.
