Other than that- the food was very good and so were the drinks. Fun atmosphere and I'm sure the building was probably 1,000 years old. So it's pretty special. Try this one out.

Wow. Just wow. Was…read morewandering around Chester with some friends one afternoon. I'm from California & live in Toronto, Canada - you can tell Californians because when we live other places we whine about not getting a good burrito. Yes, but I'm in Chester - I wasn't expecting anything or trying to emulate 'home' - we were just walking by & a bit hungry so we popped in thinking it'd be kitschy & cool. Wow. Srsly. The food is a mixture of cuban, spanish, mexican, brazilian, etc. I had a burrito. I would actually rate the burrito a bit better than most of what passes in Toronto. The service was awesome, even tho I hadnn't quite tuned my 'English' ears yet (was needing translation). However the margarita was world-freakin-class. I was expecting some sort of margarita mix/tequila mixture, but it honestly tasted like fresh lime and tequila - like an authentic margarita. It - was- awesome. I doubt I'll have many chances to visit Chester again, but if I do, I'm totally hunting down this place. For expats who might be in the area: check this out for your burrito fix! Wait, now I want to visit Chester again soon and get all around their menu. nom nom nom

There are also non-alcoholic cocktails like Raspberry Ripple too, I plumped for an interestingly titled cocktail called 'Dave'. They all come in fancy glasses so you can do your best Del-Boy impression with the parasols and cherries! They are not cheap though at £5+ for some, so perhaps a place to visit for one round only. There is also a dance-floor in the centre of a good size, which I'm sure was packed later in the evening. Fiesta Havana also does food too, but although we enquired the wait time was too long, by virtue of its popularity. The dishes that came past us looked tasty and were predominantly tapas.

You get a choice of a la carte food whilst sat at long tables, and depending on what night you go on, there's a variety of entertainment and ultimately the dancefloor is opened up to the general public. Apart from the MC who believes that because he can speak into a microphone and wears black he is god's gift to women, it is a really enjoyable experience and the staff are lovely. There are a number of impressionists, so be prepared for the Rat Pack, Tom Jones and the like. The food is great although I'm never a big fan of eating in places that are so dimly lit you can't see what's on your plate. The bar is pretty good too, with a fair few cocktails to choose from and bar staff as accomplished as any you'd see in the pretentious bars down Victoria Street. All in all a good experience, though it tends to be for more mature people. It depends how happy you are watching your mum attempting to pole dance with the MC's mike stand I guess...

Some…read moreaspects totally deserve 5 stars - namely their awesome social media team who actually stayed in touch with me via Twitter throughout the night and the next morning - but some, i.e. food/service/entertainment take it back to a 3. I visited in a hen do capacity with some of the other half's family. Looking for somewhere for circa 15 people under the title 'hen do' can prove impossible, and that's where Blundell Street steps up to the plate. We were surrounded by similar size parties, but managed to get booked in to two of the large tables upstairs, meaning we weren't so enclosed by everyone else. A quick stop for a wine at the downstairs bar and we headed up to get seated. The space itself is large without feeling vacant, and adorned with images of Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye. A reflection of the upcoming entertainment, perhaps? Think again! The live singer was good enough, with music between sets, but the song choices just felt a bit clunky and odd. Any energy was coming from the dance floor as opposed to the stage, with many of us even forgetting he was up there at times. If you're familiar with Dave Spikey in Phoenix Nights, you're on the right track... The food (something I am much more familiar with!) was impressive for the amount they're churning out on an evening. Popcorn chicken was okay, goat's cheese risotto needed another slab of goat's cheese and some pepper, and the eton mess was also okay. Plenty of wine was bought to the table at around £13 for the cheapest bottle, which you pay up front for - whether this makes it easier or a bit of a hassle to fish your purse out each time is up to you. Kudos to the staff for earning their living surrounded by these loud and usually drunk parties. It did take our waitress a little while to get into the swing of things, trying to bring a bottle of red instead of sauvignon blanc as ordered, but some help from a fellow waiter helped her get back on track. Recommended for an easy night out with a large group, but I won't be going out of my way to revisit.

It rains a lot in Chester so being able to sit outside under cover in a spacious area is a plus. Lots of high top tables around. Wait staff was a hit and miss. We started with a young girl who was ridiculous but when the fella took over for us, it was much better. (The first waitress wasn't rude. She just wasn't attentive ... at all. lol) Squared away with seating, beers, and mixed drinks we started ordering. It was odd but great to see lots of healthy and cool dining options. We had a cauliflower dish that was the BEST cauliflower I've ever had along with a different seared tuna taco topped with pickled radishes that was delicious. The skewered Thai chicken was good as well as the traditional fish and chips. What's most interesting is this place is billed as a pub like eatery but felt more like a restaurant with a slight pub feel. Cool décor inside and out, clean and hip. Both times that we came, the food was bursting with delicious, fresh flavors. The halloumi fries had the squeaky bite they're known for.
