Should you indulge? There is only one answer: Oui! Everything from bread to dessert was perfect. The fish dishes were true stand-outs, especially the salmon soup. The French fries were superb, light and crisp yet hearty enough to stand up to the divine sauces. The asparagus was of the white variety and delicious. People here know how to enjoy dinner as has been said many times before. My dinner took 2 hours and there were families that were there before I got there and were still there after I left. Mindful eating is the culture here, quality not quantity. Merci, danke schoen and to the lovely waitress who only got a $20 American tip because I had no euros ( it's a long story but you can blame Icelandair) and the credit card bills here don't allow you to add a tip... The Reibekuchen is also worth trying - it's nothing like you find at street stalls. Also freshly prepared, the flavour is amazing and not dripping with oil (again, not your usual Christmas-market fare!). It was a pleasant surprise to find it comes with some salad and salmon - yum!
