After one introductory lesson, we were hooked. We signed up for 5 classes (that was all we could fit in weeks before our wedding and with our busy schedules). Nick was our instructor and he was amazing! We're both beginners and he was great at teaching us dance moves we could handle that also went well with our song. We were nervous to learn but he was patient and made sure we were comfortable with each move. He even incorporated a lift into our dance which was so much fun! Overall highly recommend, the whole staff is friendly and welcoming. It's a great bonding experience and the crowd went wild for our first dance during the wedding! I signed up in April 2025 after being told one enrolled class would allow unlimited drop-ins, with 30-day makeup windows. The teachers, class variety, and student culture are genuinely excellent. The management and policies, however, are another story. Policies grew increasingly restrictive over time -- drop-ins shifted to a text-based reservation system with advance scheduling requirements, an extra $7 fee for makeups, frequent confusion, and eventual pushback. I was repeatedly pressured to enroll in more classes despite being clear about my limitations, and denied access to advanced classes without enrolling in their ballet class, even though I was enrolled in ballet elsewhere. The studio hosts bi-annual showcase performances that some of the classes participate in and the 6-8 weeks prior include rehearsals. Before this month's showcase, I requested makeups for the two prior weeks knowing they'd be rehearsal-focused rather than full instruction. I scheduled 1 makeup and for the 2nd makeup was told other classes I requested were closed -- including a class with only 1-2 students -- and asked to stay after class for a conversation. The pattern made clear this was less about following policy and more about something that was never transparently communicated. Deciding this no longer aligned, I submitted 30 days' notice to unenroll per policy. The owner immediately refunded me and told me not to return -- then in the next message said I was valued and welcome to reenroll anytime. When I received the refund, I noticed my monthly rate had increased without disclosure or receipt. You have to catch it on your credit card statement. Best for students who commit to enrollments, skip makeups, and embrace the showcase model with costume costs -- no flexibility expected. One studio has an uneven, sometimes slippery floor that raises safety concerns.

I received an email from Janell that my trial week had ended. Of course I was upset because I hadn't taken a class yet. She said: "SDC trials are non-transferrable and non-refundable. Your original trial was scheduled for 3/29. While we typically don't offer transfers, we made a one-time accommodation to shift your start date to 4/15, per your request. We reserved your spaces in classes throughout these two weeks, which closed the spots to other interested dancers. It sounds like our program may not be a great fit for what you're looking for in dance. We wish you all the best in your journey and if in the future you're interested in committing to 12 month program, please reach back out!" This place is a scam.

When we arrived around 8:30 on a Saturday morning, the paid parking lot was already full. There are very few parking spaces overall in the paid $3 lot. We ended up as Ralph's customers that morning and found a couple of last-minute items that we needed before starting our hike. It was a nice and cool morning with a slight breeze, which was perfect to kick off our hike. We opted to take the easy trail, Borrego Canyon Trail. There is a lot of soft sand through out parts of the trail, similar to a beach like sensation for your walking pleasure. It also felt like a magical forest during some areas with trickling streams. We also experienced some parts full of various sized rocks. This is NOT a child- friendly trail for little ones. As we approached parts that were more desert like, we got closer to the red rocks. There was much anticipation to the end and the trail concludes with what feels like a small dead end as you gaze into the view of the towering red rocks. Going downhill was much quicker and fun. It was an easy trail with some sections that forced me to go slower as I didn't want to slip on some small rocks. There was so much positivity coming from other hikers and bicyclists. So many good mornings shared, it was contagious. Bicyclists are one-way so they are only coming from behind you and so many were thankful for us moving out of their way. I've never experienced such polite and friendly trail enthusiasts. I'd love to return to experience this beautiful trail again.

The path itself was paved for the first mile or so and then became dirt/sawdust. While the trail runs behind and below shopping centers and housing, you never really see much of the structures. We walked a good chunk of the trail to the Peace Obelisk and then turned around and went back to where we parked in a shopping center, which was approximately a 4-mile round trip. It was a good walk on a Saturday afternoon. There weren't a whole lot of people to be seen on our walk; a few families, dog walkers, a couple of joggers, a couple of bicyclists. The entire path is an easy walk and mostly flat. Again, there are several entrances to the trail and there are actually 2 separate parallel trails on either side of the creek. This is a great place to spend a little time in nature while still being in the middle of Mission Viejo.

The Oso Creek Trail is a classic "Yuppie Nature" trail: mostly paved or manicured paths, and…read morenothing too challenging or dangerous. Exactly the kind of "outdoor" experience my wife loves! But seriously, it's a wonderful place to stretch your legs right in the heart of Mission Viejo. The trail runs along both sides of Oso Creek, hence the name, and each side of the trail is a bit different. One side is paved and the other is dirt or bark covered, for a more "natural" feel. There are also some fun points of interest along the way, including a hedgerow maze, various bear statues, and a park adjacent to the Norman P. Murray Community & Senior Center. It's great for families with small kids or strollers to push, as well as solo joggers, dog walkers, or even bikers. It's long enough and stretches at least a couple miles to get some good exercise in. If you're in the area, it's well worth a visit to enjoy. Five stars!

It is our pleasure to write a very positive review of the Lake Forest Arthur Murray Dance Studio. My wife and I have been dancing there for years, taking both group lessons and most recently concentrating on private lessons. We have enjoyed learning from our instructors, most recently Caitlin, Kristi, and Brandon, getting to know them as friends, attending both the informal parties at the studio and the more formal, themed parties at various Orange County hotel ballrooms, at the San Juan Mission, the Ocean Institute, and at the Queen Mary, taking special "couples" dance lessons, and just generally stepping out of our current day to day and enjoying ballroom dancing...! It's both fun and excellent exercise, for both the body and the brain...! The instructors were especially helpful in preparing my daughter and our (at the time) future son-in-law and my wife and myself for our daughter's wedding dances. Steve and Georgette are the owners, are wonderful people, and are very intimately involved with encouraging us dancers to enjoy ourselves.... read more

The Arthur Murray dance studio in Lake Forest is the place to go if you want to be a better dancer, no matter how well or how poorly you can dance now. It's a friendly, welcoming place where expert dance teachers can turn non-dancers into dancers and can turn newbie dancers into accomplished performers. Ballroom dancing is their strong suit, of course, but not just waltz, foxtrot, tango, swing, rumba, cha cha. A couple of days before starting she was sent a script to practice for the audition, which she did. It turns out she was never asked to audition, instead she was give a minor, brief dance role for the play. Needless to say, she was disappointed, and I felt somewhat deceived having paid nearly $1000 for this two week training. It certainly appeared to us that they signed up way too many kids for number of parts available in this play. So in summary, I don't feel this was a good use of our time and money and I would not recommend this business.
