This place was so, so fun and the colonial theme really sticks with the place!…read more The decor and music was wonderful and staff was kind and gave directions. Thank you for having me!

Angie A. did an awesomely thorough review worth reading. I will fill in some details:…read more My boyfriend brought me here. He comes every year for the Sweet Annie wreaths and Bud's root beer. I am always up for an adventure, and this one was no exception. If you like stepping back in time, then you need to come check out the Feast of the Hunters Moon, a reenactment of a mid-1700s trading post. With a reenactment comes reenactors. There are hundreds of them, dressed in traditional garb, armed with artillery, hanging out in their traditional tents, huddled around the fire. It's quite the sight to see. These reenactors lead a variety of events, from traditional dances to church ceremonies for a few denominations. Vendors also set up shop, selling everything from furry frontier hats to fine china to swords to mini telescopes. Best of all, there's BUD'S ROOT BEER (the best of the best) and FOOD: apple dumplings, fried dough, pork chops, stews/soups, sausages, breads. Most of it is pretty tasty, so bring cash and your appetite for sure! This event is definitely family-friendly and a nod to our Indiana history. Mark your calendars to experience this for sure!

We really enjoyed our visit at this reindeer ranch! The gift shop was filled with lots of reindeer…read moreand Christmas products, an old-school furnace in the middle to keep it nice and toasty, an upstairs full of colorful Christmas decor and trinkets. The highlight was the running train in the middle on top floor as you sit and sip on the hot cider while waiting for our reindeer tour at around noon. Luckily at the time we went we were the only once so we basically got a private tour. Who knew reindeers love graham crackers? It had snowed a couple days before so it was so special to see all the reindeer in the snow. The lovely gal answered a lot of our questions about the farm and the reindeer and my 4 yo daughter really loved feeding and patting the friendly and soft reindeers. It looked like they had a fun playground and an onsite cafe (it was closed) and some other amenities around but they were all covered in snow when we went. The only thing is it would have been nice if they plowed their parking lot after the snow for safety. This was in the same town we were visiting family so it was very close. I thought it was worth the price ($12) and I would recommend this for other families to come check out with their little ones and have a unique experience!

Such a cute little place. Did the corn maze with a bunch of friends, was so fun despite the heat…read more The little christmas shop was super cute. I wish they had some proper drinks like cider or something for the hot days but they just had this smashed pumpkin pie with icecream and a donut on top. It was delicious but a whole lot of sweet assortments I guess. Would love to return and do the maze in moonlight, if not for the horror movies I watched

As far as festivals go in the area this is one of the bigger interesting ones. They have a big…read moreassortment of what i call "fair food" and it all seemed like it was very likeable and easy on the wallet. They had a huge tent for dancing. We also got to see a kids area that they had dancers in Disney characters contests...they were kindof scary looking characters i guess the costumes are like a knockoff kind or something. The thing they are known for is there giant skillet meal, i had this it was pretty darn good and only $6.00. They also have a chicken dinner which i found out about after I had eaten, there was quite a big line for it and they even have it done by a number series...fyi the kids eat free only works with a paying adult. They also have a huge garage sale type thing, everything you could cram into a brown bag for $5.00. Just a bunch of junk to me, but it could be your treasure! They also have carnival type games here along with bingo at certain times and live entertainment. This place was well worth it to come to, i would come again next year.

This is pretty typical of a small town festival:…read more - over priced food and drinks - crappy carnival game prizes - over priced junk at rummage sale - people selling their homemade junk - local "talent" for the entertainment - lots of drunk people - old ladies playing bingo If you are into all of that, then by all means: have at it. I think I'll stay home and enjoy the peace and quiet.
