I consumed the ENTIRE box of assorted chocolates I purchased (that I had intentions of sharing with my husband.) They have a guild of Bruges Chocolatier seal outside their storefront that signifies high quality products handmade in Bruges. Therefore, you can rest assured that their chocolates are not imported. In addition, I did buy a chocolate mix for my husband and several sleeves of chocolates and a hot chocolate stirrer. They are definitely on the expensive side. However', their high quality taste made it all the worthwhile! The manager was very nice and they have a kitchen in house which is a good indicator that their chocolates are handmade and produced locally as they adhere to the Guild of Chocolatiers in Bruges. We were offered a tour of the kitchen, which I really wanted to do but we had to unfortunately decline because we were on a time constraint. There are a mass of chocolate shops in Bruges which I haven't tried, but I lucked out walking into theirs and i'm thankful! You can definitely taste the difference and that's a great thing!

I feel that this review of Chocoladehuisje is pretty much a review for all the amazing chocolatiers…read morein Bruges. Let me confirm... Anything you may have heard about Belgian chocolate being the best of the best is true. Bruges is just one massive outlet for all this deliciousness. Having been here twice now I have my favorites. That should never stop anyone from walking into the various shops. The people here are fabulous and contrary to any stories you may have heard, the price of chocolate is very reasonable. Most of the items we bought were finished on the bus ride back to the Ship or on the ship for the remainder of our cruise. Unfortunately, not all items made it back in one piece but... still tasted great. For roughly €17 one can purchase a box containing a sampling of white, dark, and milk chocolates with plenty of choices. You can buy one piece or multiple pieces in any of the shops. All the teams of the shop are wonderful and willing to work with you to put together exactly what you're looking for. Bruges is a must visit if you're near the area and KUDOs to the team at Chocoladehuisje

Our friends wanted brunch so our first food stop was at Huize Colette…read more We dropped in on a Saturday (around 11:00am). The inside is old but quaint with an upstairs with more seating. Cute that there's a bunch of old books to peruse. The brunch menu is small but there are endless options for drinks. - 2x Colettian brunch (€13,50) - coffee or tea, fresh orange juice, croissant, 3 slices of bread + 2 choices of spreads (we went with buonumore and hummus) and boiled egg (we opted for soft). Orange juice was freshly squeezed. Croissant was better than we expected. You get a ton of bread slices to go with your spreads. Everyone thought the buonumore was fantastic and they give you a massive jar to enjoy. Hummus was homemade but simple in flavour. - The good mood breakfast (€9,50) - wake up call (hot chocolate with a shot of espresso), croissant and 2 slices of bread with buonumore (hazelnut paste from Piëmonte). Our friend really liked her drink. Good but heavy on the carbs. Typical European style brunch. 3.5 stars.

A few people seemed to be using it to study so it had a very relaxed atmosphere. You order at the till from a menu mainly consisting of chocolate but they bring the food and drinks directly to your table. There is a lot of hot chocolate to choose from but we opted for the white hot chocolate and an hot organic chocolate blend (basically more cacao than choco so it has a bitter taste). We also went for a choco platter which consisted of marshmallows, malteasers, choco biscuits, choco brownie and cream. This was plenty for 2 to share allowing you to add bits and bobs to your hot chocolate and also allow you to indulge in a few small treats. The place is great, service is good and the drinks were perfect for a cold rainy day.
