My wife and I stopped in on our first day and were warmly greeted by Ivy, one of the employees, who was EXTREMELY knowledgable about local PR artists, and showed us some amazing pieces. They also have very nice silver and locally produced jewelry pieces. We returned on our second day and had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and decided on purchasing two pieces by a more renowned Puerto Rican artist, and received an amazing price. My wife then saw a third piece that she loved, and we received a package price that was too good to refuse! Price included shipping, and we were treated with great kindness. The second day was when the island wide power outage was occurring, and they were still able to conduct business using cellular devices. Yesterday afternoon we received a call from Ivy to verify our home address, and THIS afternoon, all three paintings arrived (including the oversized framed 30"x40" oil) via USPS PRIORITY EXPRESS! Now, THAT is truly amazing customer service! We would have been happy with regular shipping! Her small gallery consists of nothing but her works and all of them are focused on life in Vieques. She is a native of the island and while being an artist for many years it's just been the last year that she was able to open her own studio on the main street of Isabel II. It's a cute well maintained shop. Inside are all kinds of hand painted or reproduced art work of hers consisting of the beach, wildlife, flora and fauna, etc. of Vieques. She takes great pride in her success and is very friendly. I enjoyed my visit to her studio and recommend you stop by. She doesn't allow picture taking inside the studio so I was limited to take pictures of her shops' exterior and her business card. Stop by or give her a call. The selections at Art Age Gallery are generally smaller in size but like Exodo real artisanal pieces, each unique, offered at what I would consider totally reasonable and affordable prices. Most of them are done by local artists and if you're lucky you may even have the opportunity to meet with the artists. What I really like about Age is that it has such a diversity of art. There is mix media, ceramics, paintings, jewelry and so much more. It's a real gem find of an art gallery.
