But still, impressive. Once there we enjoyed the clear, bright, albeit very cold day. We even enjoyed a good days betting on the tote also, with us all going home a little up. The facilities were fine. The canteen style restaurant was busy but the staff were pleasant and cope well with the numbers. The food was fine, the usual fare you get at an Irish racecourse: sandwiches, sausage & chips, tea & coffee. The Jameson bar was relatively empty, so it was easy to get a drink or use the toilets. In the same building there was an excellent kids area with jockeys colours for them to try on and colouring stuff to use. I was highly impressed with that. Another highlight for me was going down to the last jump fence on the home straight where you can get a real good up close view of the steeplechase action. That is recommended. I am a fan.

I do not recommend the Cliffs of Moher tour. I can imagine no greater H3ll than sitting on a bus…read morefor 12 hours without a bathroom, but it exceeded my expectations for how awful it was. The bus drives erratically along winding roads, swinging horribly. At least 2 people on our tour were vomiting at their seats. It does stop at least every 1.5 hours for bathroom breaks but the stops are short, you do not get to experience anything at these stops except for one mediocre restaurant that is chosen for everyone for lunch. The cliffs are usually cloudy/windy/rainy anyway. Definitely not worth it. The driver was nice enough and gave some information while driving, that is the only positive feedback I can give.

Rabbie's West Coast Explorer - 3 day tour Review  (13 - 15 SEP 2019) (and Rabbie's Boyne Valley (16…read moreSep2019) For starters we were visiting Ireland for the first time and normally we do not do tours.  This being said since we were a blank sheet of paper of what makes Ireland special we opted to do the Rabbis West Coast explorer tour.  We were more that smitten with the experience.  Our tour guide Shamus was a unending resource of inspiring Irish narrative on not only the sites we were taking in, but on all things engaging about the Irish culture and well Ireland itself.  We discovered the most spectacular sites from Fiords, to Ruins and landscape vistas that took your breath away.  Not only did we enjoy the The Burren, The Cliffs of Moher - evenings in Galway City, Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park,  Clonmacnoise - and a Distillery tour, Shamus through in many other places that were never listed on the tour guide! All this was done with such ease and laid back style by our amazing tour guide and never rushing us to "...be back on the bus by..." edicts!  If you like me have a wonderment about history, ruins, spirituality great food choices or just plain every day life, this is the tour for you!    You can't beat the priced and will not ever regret it! We will be back to Ireland because of Rabbies and when we get back to Scotland will check them out there as well.
