After about 12 hours camped out at "BASE camp" over the last two days, I must concur. It has all…read morethe makings of a prime "work from home but not at home" space!
And what does that include, you might ask?
*clean, spacious, lots of natural light, sturdy tables, comfortable. Well decorated!
*a well-equipped cafe with coffee, soft drinks, snacks, sandwiches, salads...and my ever-favorite: milchreis with applesauce! I will never be able to eat enough rice pudding to satisfy. I just will not. I love it. I also enjoyed a breakfast bread with what appeared to be cottage cheese, greenery and tomato. Also really very good.
*If you need more food variety (unlikely) you can pop over to Vapiano next door.
*Strong, consistent and EASY wifi/internet.
*Friendly staff.
*Encouragement to stay awhile.
This was a great place to work for a few days with my colleagues, and it strikes just the right balance of loud/quiet, and bustling/calm to be energetic. A good vibe. The Mokador Cafe inside really quite nice, and I'd certainly recommend this as a place to pop in to in Berlin if you need a study session, to check email, work amongst the living, enjoy a quick meal, etc, etc, etc.
Oh, and obviously...they sell/offfer/showcase BASE products. Kind of the point of the cafe, but the perks are the reason you'll keep coming back!
**also, this is where I first tried Club Mate, a Berlin must.
