Bananas’ Axe Cabana - Getting tutorial

    Bananas’ Axe Cabana

We picked a location that was the midpoint between my home in Connecticut and my parents' home in New York City. We couldn't have chosen a better place than Banana Cabana! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a staff member (I wish I had caught her name) who greeted us with a big smile. She gave an excellent demonstration on how to properly throw an axe, let us practice a few rounds, and provided helpful tips on positioning our arms and legs for the best results. The venue had a great drink menu with plenty of options, including non-alcoholic beer. We also loved the variety of games available Battleship was a favorite! Another fun touch was the TouchTunes music system, where we could purchase credits and play our favorite songs. We definitely took advantage of that! Overall, we had an amazing time and will 100% be returning if we're ever in the area again.

Well we originally came here because online it says New Roc had bowling, and mini golf but…read moreeverything was closed down the only thing open was Axe throwing, the Movie theater, and places to eat. We drove a long distance to we went in to learn to throw some Axes. They seemed a bit short staff but in good spirits I saw a tiki bar and they had scannable QR codes on the tables but they bar and food options where closed as well so missed opportunity there. Axe throwing definitely will make you thirsty we did the 1 Hr option and would've signed up for more if there was a food and beverage option there. Only thing I didn't like is you pay for an hour but the staff started the timer before hand so we didn't get an actual hour they started the timer and then explained the rules to us and showed us how to throw it would make sense to do the tutorial and then start the timer once we are ready or once they are done explaining. All in all it was a fun experience with our group of friends definitely fun to do.

They were attentive to the kids and let them work at their own pace. Eliana did awesome face-painting throughout. Parents needs to help the toddlers with their work but the kids really got into the projects themselves. It's not a huge place but 16 toddlers, parents and a few family members fit comfortably. It was a hot day and the A/C was perfect. I often leave birthday parties sweating.

Creative Corner is a wonderful place in Larchmont Village. I have three children, ages 10,7 and 4. While they did enjoy it when they were younger, I no longer drop off my 10 & 7yr olds because art projects are not an interest of theirs right now. However, I do have friends whose older daughters take classes at CC, and not only do they create beautiful work, but many of the classes focus on a certain artist or genre, so the kids learn as well. My 4 yr old loves to visit during "drop in hours" to do arts and crafts. In my opinion, the $20 is very reasonable (in this town) for my time alone, a snack, and best of all, my child having fun and creating something that makes her feel proud. We have hosted preschool classroom gatherings (on random days off), and Fran, the owner, has always been more than willing to book her space for us even at the last minute and without a deposit (a rarity). Fran is a kind hearted person who runs CC because it is clear she has a vested interest in teaching the arts to kids. She is busy, with her business and kids of her own, but I've never found her rude or unresponsive.

I especially enjoyed the planting oath he had us take before we started. My only complaint came with the supplies. I was hoping we would get more than 3 succulents, or to at least get to choose the ones we used, but I do understand that can be difficult to manage. And in the end it worked out for me because the original planter I wanted had run out and was bigger, so the three plants I received fit nice--the bigger one would have had too much empty space. Also, by the time some of the decorations made their way to our end of the table it was slim pickings. Steven did alternate which end of the table he started at, but I felt like for the price you should be able to get the specific supplies you wanted. Even with that, I still had a nice time and would totally do a Yaymaker event again. They're always a fun night out.
