We really enjoyed going through the different exhibits last week! Some of them were more interesting than others but we felt the whole experience was worth the price. The infinity room at the end was also amazing! If you don't want to do the whole thing, you can just purchase a ticket for the infinity room too!

Art Club was the coolest art experience that I've ever experienced in my life--I recommend it to anyone who is an art lover or who just needs a new HTown experience. There are about 15 art exhibits and each one is a unique interpretation of an idea related to light, sound, and laser technology. Most of the pieces are sophisticated and intricate marvels, making you wonder exactly how they were put together. They left a lasting impression on me and I left this museum with some of the best pictures!

Art Club describes itself as "a cross between a museum and a night club" and I would definitely agree. My friend and I went back in June for their DJ Night series that happens every Friday from 10p-3a. The DJs that played that night were Jake Gatewood and Neon Indian. I purchased tickets online the week of the event. The prices are dynamic and increase closer to the event date. I did notice a price increase day of the event so if there's a DJ that you want to see, I would recommend purchasing tickets sooner than later. We opted for VIP tickets which was totally worth it. With VIP, you get a separate expedited entry, a tumbler that allows you to take your drink with you to the exhibits, and you have access to all of the exhibits in the museum. I was able to park on the street a few blocks away. The night that we went, there was a concert at 713 Music Hall so the parking lot at POST was pretty full. They recommend parking in the Main Lot off of Bagby. Art Club ticket holders are able to get discounted parking. Just show your ticket to the parking attendant upon entry. My friend and I arrived around 10 pm and the GA line was so long. We were able to skip the line and get in immediately. The dance floor was empty and there wasn't a line at the bar. That quickly changed as the night went on. By the time we left around 1 am, the dance floor was packed. The bar menu wasn't as extensive as I would have liked. They had one specialty cocktail and it was made in large batches. I ordered a G+T and realized that the bartender gave me diet tonic which I don't care for. When I went back for a second drink, I ordered a gin and ginger ale and it was better. The art exhibits were really cool! You can spend as much time in the exhibits as you would like. My favorite was the infinity room. It's large and just really cool visually. We spent more time in the exhibits than on the dance floor. They also had a smaller room with a second DJ. That room wasn't as packed which was nice. There were a few vendors near the bar selling all sorts of items. I don't know what the experience is like during the day, but the vibe at night was super cool. They have DJs booked through the rest of the year and I'm considering going back because I had a blast!

Went to Art Club at POST Houston on a Thursday night with a friend to catch HoneyLuv, and wow--what a night. The show was great, the energy was high, and the crowd was fully tapped into the vibe. If you're into good music and even better ambiance, this spot delivers. But honestly, as much as I came for the music, I could've stayed in the art exhibits for hours. They were incredibly enticing--beautiful, immersive, and somehow calming despite the buzz of everything going on outside the space. It felt like stepping into another world right in the middle of the party. We opted for the ticket upgrade that included access to the exhibits, and I'd 100% recommend it. The small upcharge also comes with a cup, so you can bring your drink into the gallery space, which was a nice bonus. All in all, Art Club blends music, art, and atmosphere in a way that's hard to beat. Whether you're there for the DJ or the installations--or both--it's well worth the visit.

Houston is such a vibrant, kinetic city and anyone that says there's nothing to do is a liar. Art Club is a multimedia museum (conveniently located in Post) that'll make you think, laugh, and appreciate the creativity of amazing artists. Whether you want to take cool pictures or tire the kiddos for the drive home, check it out! Discount pricing is also available for students, littles, and seniors.

Art Club is a museum space in the Post Houston, that transitions to a DJ club space on select evenings of the month. I had seen Art Club on instagram, and intrigued with their ambiance and vibe, checked their DJ lineup calendar online and was excited to see that Sam Collins was playing in April. My friend and I purchased regular admission tickets which were reasonably priced (around $30 after taxes) but quickly realized upon arriving that VIP is the way to go. VIP has the added benefit of being able to visit their multiple art installation rooms, all with very different vibes, in addition to the DJ space and with the gift of an Art Club thermal cup. Initially I didn't think that mixing a DJ experience with art exhibits would be worth the extra cost but it definitely was worth it. They do offer upgrade options for an additional charge once you arrive if you decide to change from regular admission to VIP. In terms of the DJ night - this is a cool experience! The acoustics and visuals are on point. They offer a full service bar with drinks that were reasonably priced for a venue (about $10 each). Unfortunately no private bar for VIP but we had no issues with lines. Parking is available at the Post and is $5/hr after the first hour during Monday- Thursday. Parking is slightly more expensive Friday- Sunday. Level 2 EV chargers are also available onsite for FREE (however you do have to pay for the regular parking rates). Overall, really cool experience! Definitely recommend and plan to return!

Online it says they close at 10 PM. So why does the Manager close shop at 8 PM every day?

I love supporting the arts, and visiting the museum has become something of an annual tradition for me, especially during June and July. I usually go with friends or family, and it's always such a nice experience. I love the atmosphere. There's something about walking around, taking your time with the artwork, and just enjoying the space. I've also randomly met some of the greatest and most interesting people while we're all just there checking out the art. Whether you're really into art or just looking for something enjoyable to do in Houston, MFAH is absolutely worth visiting. It's one of those places that reminds me how much Houston has to offer.

Pricing for the museum is $24. There are several garages in the area to park at and parking is charged a hourly rate. Unfortunately I was short on time but was able to visit the Frida collection, Aztec civilization, and Islamic Art collections. All of the art work was unique. The Frida collection was extremely popular and that's where most of the museums visitors spent their time. Overall I really enjoyed my experience here and wish I had more time to explore. They do have several dining options at the museum including a Michelin star French restaurant, Le Jardinier. The menu looks great and looks like they had a lunch 2 course option there for $45.

We liked it, 7 out of 10 for sure..but color factory was less oppressive and dark side. Meow Wolf…read moredidn't appeal to the littles (under 10) because they were too eager to move to the next thing to fully enjoy each thing in the moment. The first room you get to was the dj booth and it was severely underwhelming...only the one 40 year old male in our group liked it. The littles couldn't figure out how to make it work well enough for them to enjoy...and they refused to let anyone help them. The 1950s vibe with its paneling felt cheap and aesthetically reeked of Grandmas house. Just my opinion but I'd modernize those 1950s elements to make the experience less "Munsters" and more "Monsters Inc."...but with todays "Maxamalist" trend, most people will probably appreciate the "WKRP in Cincinnati" vibe. Overall, from an artist perspective it was too much junk and not enough art in the mix. They still could have used all the junk...just in a better way in some areas. I did really love the teeny tiny bar built in to the bottom of the metal pole in cowboix hevvvven, it was an unexpected treasure and the monster bartender smoking not one but three cigarettes cracked me up. I liked the doors disguised as other things..vending machine, elevator, fridge and etc., and the concept of the tornado room but I thought it was weakly executed if the goal is to portray a tornado I would have liked to have seen the car tilted on one side like it was lifting off and possibly a bit of "wind" in the room,..the water hoses all over the place needed an exaggerated shadow or something.. but the little kids and 20-30 year old's and non artsy people would easily love it and artsy people who can just throw random paint on a canvas and call it art...those people would love it too. Maybe I've grown old and judgy because I kept finding things I wanted to "do over" or "tweek" for them. If I could just turn that off and appreciate what is already there it would have changed the whole narrative for me. Apologies to the masterminds who created all of this, on the whole it is a brilliant masterpiece. The seek and find room was fun for the kids and the rotating blacklight was a nice touch...but it was soo doomsday with all the brown and black..and I get it that its supposed to be stuff submerged in dirt but the 80s girl in me would have preferred sand instead of dirt or at least a layer of sand near the top and possibly a tiny ray of breakthough sunlight from the ceiling and maybe a layer of "water" (clear turquoise epoxy maybe?) on top to give it a ray of hope among the gloom. The dungeon room where you line up the radio waves to make lightning overhead had all the elements of being a fun room with its little alcoves, cute little cave monsters, musical wall and etc but only one person in our group of 8 was inspired to try all the things in that room...but to be fair, she's the one who downloaded the app that helped you discover all the things the room had to offer and it took a long time to make the cool ceiling light up. The little kids were so excited about going through disguised doors they forgot to look in all the cabinets to discover all the cool stuff in the break room and a few of the other rooms. Seriously, if you go, download the app..it makes the experience way better. Its not really a place you'd enjoy as much if you had mobility issues..there is an elevator but going to the elevator breaks of the flow if you are with a group with kids who want to go up and down every 5 minutes. Actually, there was a second elevator but it wasn't operational when we were there. The bathrooms were very clean and we appreciated that there were places to get a drink (cowboix hevvven) or snack (the littles got rice crispy treats) inside the attraction.

The visit to Meow Wolf wasn't quite what it was hyped up to be, in my opinion…read more For the amount of money we paid for two people, I expected the experience to be worth it. Especially because when buying tickets at the kiosk we were told that there would be an EPIC live performance that we could see. We were excited about that, only to get to the entrance and be told that we wouldn't be able to see the show. That was extremely disappointing, mostly because I felt it played a big factor in the ticket prices. We were also given a pair of glasses, but no one really explained what they were for or which room we were supposed to use them in. Some of the artwork was really cool, and the DJ room with the white and black turntables was probably my favorite part of the entire experience. The staff members were very friendly and they also showed us how to get out when we were ready to leave. Meow Wolf has a bar, but when we finally found it we were told they were only serving shots and beer because the bartender was on lunch break. By that point, we had already spent so much time trying to find the bar that waiting around for a cocktail didn't seem worth it. The radio booth was another issue. It seemed to be one of the most popular areas, but people were staying in there for quite a while, which made it difficult for everyone else to get a turn. I think having someone monitoring that area and managing the time would make the experience better for everyone. And honestly the gift shop prices were absolutely ridiculous. On the positive side, the restrooms were clean, and there are restrooms both inside and outside the exhibit. They also have lockers available for purchase if you have things you don't want to hold onto while inside. If you have kids and are looking for something different and interactive for them to do, I'd still say give it a try.
