If I could give it a ZERO I certainly would!…read more I came home on a Friday to find my 10 year old cat had had an episode of some sort and was in dire distress. Having had stomach issues all his life, I knew he probably wouldn't survive and wanted to get him some place quick. I called the 17th Avenue Clinic, they were only 2 blocks from me, and was told they weren't accepting anymore patients they were getting ready to close and referred me to another clinic over 20 blocks away. It did not matter that my pet was suffering to them, not one iota! Needless to say, my poor Milo passed away on the way to the vet. He suffered more than he needed to. These folks have no empathy, don't care and caused me and my Milo unneeded suffering and pain. WOULD NOT RECOMMNED IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!!!

The landslide of five-star reviews do not lie. The admin team at this clinic is friendly, efficient…read moreand excellent w/ general communications, providing instructions and timely medication orders. My cats and I have traveled extensively, and thus, we have seen our fair share of veterinarians. I must say, Dr. Joe's manner and approach with animals is incomparable to any other vet we have ever visited and he has a wonderful sense of humour and is very personable. My cats were so relaxed that they were actually able to down a few treats during their visit (first time ever!) and they hardly made a peep during their checkups. They usually get riled up when their teeth are being checked and of course, when they have to get shots, but Dr. Joe was able to accomplish these tasks so gently that my cats didn't kick up a fuss at all. Dr. Joe took his time w/ us during the visit and he made sure that all of my questions were answered and that all concerns were addressed. To add, it was obvious to me that Dr. Joe's priority was to provide the best treatment plan for my cats, while also keeping things as economically sound as possible for me, the pet owner. There was absolutely no "hard selling" happening here! Regarding parking, there is reserved parking for the clinic behind the building so if your concerns about this "downtown" clinic is about parking, no worries. Parking is a cinch. To wrap up this review, our visit was so pleasant and refreshing in a sense that I am grateful to know that there are still service providers like this out there.

Very nice people, but their prices are NOT affordable like many of the reviews on Yelp claim they…read moreare. Just called about having my 5 lb pup neutered, and not only is their price 350, but they REQUIRE not only a 'new pet exam' prior to the operation (new pet exam is basically basic physical exam, listen to heartbeat, real basic stuff that could, and should, just be done as a part of the neuter operation; IMO it is just a way to charge clients 72 dollars extra...), And then they also REQUIRE every dog to have blood work done before they will neuter (or spay) them (at 73 dollars extra!)!. So looking at basically 500 dollars to have a 5 lb Chihuahua snipped! Unreal the amounts that some clinics are willing to charge customers for quite basic and routine, as well as necessary, procedures. Vets around Calgary have really lost their moral compass, and seem to have very much gone towards a very profit-driven model. Sad, especially for people who rely on their dog for various services and supports for their mental or physical health.

They were gentle with him even though he seemed quite pissed off when I came to pick him up. Go figure! Most recently, I took my littlest guy, Pajamas, in also for shots and to be neutered. He did really well. We had a hard time getting him out of the kitty carrier but the vet didn't mind and took her time with him. One of the staff called me after the surgery to let me know he was ok and I could pick him up later. They also called me the next day to make sure Pajamas was eating and drinking and see if there were any concerns. They really do provide great customer service here. Just last week, we were back in for a couple more shots. Again, the vet was great with Pajamas, explaining everything and letting me know when he'll need to come back. As far as the prices go, Centre Street is very reasonably priced. I checked out some other vet clinics which were more expensive. I liked the fact that they were willing to do the blood tests same day of his neutering. Other places won't. I guess it's because here they have the equipment and can get immediate results. I'll definitely take my boys here again as the customer service, hours, convenience and quality of care are simply fantastic.

Lengthy review ahead: Customers, do your research on pricing before using this vet. I paid almost…read more5x the price for a simple antibiotic prescription at this location. While I have not visited this vet clinic for exams, I have used them for prescription refills as my vet is across town and this location is closer to my work and home. Two weeks ago, my vet (also a VCA clinic) sent a prescription to this location for an antibiotic as my dog had a bone infection and we needed to begin medication ASAP. A vet tech from the Glamorgan Animal Clinic called me to explain that they only carry the antibiotic in tablet form and not the capsules that were prescribed by my veterinarian. I asked if the medication was the same as what was prescribed and the tech reassured me it was the same medication, just in a different form. I agreed to refill the prescription with the tablets that they had in stock as we were needing them urgently. Fast forward to me picking up the prescription, I was surprised at the cost, which was upwards of $230 for 2 weeks of medication. I assumed the antibiotic was just expensive and seeing as my dog needed to begin it right away, I paid and left. The staff were very friendly. Yesterday, I had a recheck by a vet at my regular VCA location and we learned that my dog would require 4 more weeks of medication. I assumed my bill would be more than $500 based off the cost of the medication at Glamorgan Animal Clinic. I was shocked to learn that 4 weeks of medication (in capsule form) would $89 at my clinic, not the $230 I paid at the Glamorgan location. While I recognize that I should have done research on the cost of the medication, I was deeply concerned that staff at the clinic were not upfront about the cost difference between the regular prescription and the medication they provided. I reached out to the clinic manager and she apologized for the confusion. She explained that I was provided with brand name medication, hence the greater cost. I am extremely disappointed that the staff at this location failed to explain that the tablets that they were providing were 5x the cost of the medication my vet had originally prescribed. While the manager was apologetic, I do not feel that my concerns were taken seriously. I am extremely disappointed with this experience and encourage all future customers to do their research before paying the prices at this location.
