******update review 03/20/16****** We received a response back from Nickie. She indicated that there must have been a misunderstanding with hotels.com and according to their records never communicated with them. I am still not happy with the drama and the lack of communication between both companies, due to the extra bill and honestly the BS excuse to justify charging our card. I still stand by the fact that my family had an amazing time,! The grounds, for us, had been magical and both of my bulldogs could not stop playing in the snow. *****original review***** I thought I had left a review for my stay and looked through yelp to update it. Evidently I never did, so. Here it is. I booked a cabin for thanksgiving 2015 (through hotels.com). We showed up early on Thursday the 26th and where so happy that they let us check in early. In full disclosure we showed up at 10am and our check-in was not until 2pm. I was freaking out since the place seemed abandoned. My husband kept telling me to relax, its early. It was such an amazing experience and truly was perfect. It was snowing , the place was empty except for 2 other families. We arrived with our 2 bulldogs who we walked around EVERYWHERE!!!!! See pictures Fast forward to Dec 9th. I receive an email from Nickie telling me that she is going to charge my credit card an extra 156 for pretty much destroying the room and the icing on the cake is when she states "we don't allow dogs" Really ?? It wasnt an issue to have dogs when i booked theough hotela.com and i always make sure that the place is pet friendly. It wasnt an issue when nickie finally greeted me and checked me and my famliy in. One of my bulldogs was with with me when i filled out the papetwork. It wasnt an issue when the maitence guy showed us to our cottage and helped walk one of the dogs in. BUT IT WAS AN ISSUE ONCE WE CHECKED OUT and she took the liberty to charge my credit card and send me an email telling me btw..... Really ??? She charged me more than it cost to book the room! This was definitely surreal. Add injury to insult they had the audacity to inform hotels.com that I cancelled. So I was still charged for a late cancelation and have now opened a case with hotels.com since I want to receive my credit that was removed when "SOMEONE" from this place told them that I had cancelled directly with them. I can't start to describe how frustrated and upset I am. Shame on this place for lying & over charging me. My 1 night stay turned into a $400 ordeal. I would suggest booking elsewhere!! My biggest disappointment is that I always travel with my dogs and I have NEVER, EVER been so insulted as I was with this email. I didn't contest it. The only reason I wanted to update my reviews was after finding out that they lied and stated we cancelled. When you only have 2 families on the premises it can't be that hard to keep track of them or, notice when one of them has dogs. I won't deny how beautiful this place is. Red wine was spilled on the walls and a bath towel, wash cloth, bath mat, curtain panel, and throw rug. Some items were unsalvageable due to fire and soot damage and/or wine stains. Also, something was burned on the fireplace shovel and could not be scraped off and saved. Please find the breakdown of our fees below to clean and/or replace the items that you damaged during your stay. Our staff spent over 2 hours cleaning this cottage that commonly takes 45 minutes to clean. As a result, we were forced to charge your card with the following breakdown of fees/damages. Ok so let me start out by saying I'm not the demographic for this hotel....I'm an LA snob who sleeps on high thread count sheets and linen duvets. That said this is the perfect little spot for a summer camp or a family reunion type thing. And this review is specifically for Nicky who literally bent over backwards to make our experience better. I have stayed in 5 star hotels around the world and Nicky would fit in just fine in any one of those. As for a bit more about the place itself the grounds are pretty and wooded and the pool looked nice though we didn't try it. Great location close to the village Etc. read more

The cottage was clean but very tiny... no extra space other than a queen bed and an old tv. No table, no chair. And it was very drafty... temperature inside the room was almost same as outside in cold December weather. Good thing the wall heater worked well and the fireplace was a nice touch. Bed was lumpy and squeaky. I had a hard time climbing out of the sinkhole of the bed. Bathroom was clean... with a shower, a toilet, a small sink and a small closet. This is much better than tent camping but costly. read more

My child went to science camp with her school. She ended up getting a head injury and I was NEVER notified. My daughter came back from camp with a black eye, bruised face, dizzy and in pain. The day after she got home my child passed out. We ended up in ER and got a CT scan done. I got a hold of the camp leader Charles and he apologized and stated I should've gotten a call from the medic but he forgot about my Child because another child walked in. Who's going to help me pay the ER and CT Scan bill I'm going to get? Not them. This place is awful. Don't send your schools or children here. If you google There was a death of a child here at this camp in May of 1998. I honestly don't think there is enough supervision for the children. Avoid at all costs. read more

Arrowhead Ranch - Elementary Schools Near Me - Lake Arrowhead, California

Clean, very nice front desk and in a nice area of lake Arrowhead. Bathroom was nice sized and modern as well. Issue is we paid $100.00 for a room we couldn't sleep in because of the heat. Even with the two windows open and the fan they supplied in the room it was too hot. I have rented much nicer places for the same amount of money. $50-$60.00 for this room would be realistic and only in the cooler months. My only other suggestion is for the owner to install a fence along the driveway leading up to the cabins. The pile of white trash bags full of towels and bedding really lowered the feel of the place. Just wasn't a place we would return to. There are cabins much closer to the village that are nicer and not much more money. read more

We found this at the very last minute and I am so happy we did. If you are looking to escape the hustle of the city and get away to a quite beautiful place this is the spot. Very inexpensive. Close to everything in Lake Arrowhead. The scenery is unreal. We will be back again. read more

We thought we were renting a cabin with a kitchen for the weekend in March. And it ended up being a room with 4 beds in it with a bathroom attached. NO KITCHEN, NO MICROWAVE NO SINK NO MINI FRIDGE. all our food went bad and the "mess hall" was NEVER OPEN and it took us til the day we were leaving to find it anyway.. The hot tub and pool were outside and neither had water in them.. big disappointment. And the WiFi was 10$ extra a day.. like WTF. I had 1 bar of service that would pop up every hour maybe if I was lucky while there because of the mountains, so they knew you were fucked so took advantage of making you pay extra for wifi. I almost completely ruined my weekend, my friend and I were there for "beyond wonderland" in San Bernardino, it was 30 mins to an hour drive away. Total rip off money wise, it was like 250 a night for a tiny box pretty much... Oh and the heater sounded like an air horn when it was Turning on so it would either scare you or awake you from your sleep.. complete Bullshit. The only upside was its placed in the beautiful forest. read more

I took my grandparents on a date to the Charcuterie Board making class in the Wood Shop. It was SO much fun! A great venue to meet fun, inspired, like-minded people while enjoying wine, scenery and laughter. Gorgeous atmosphere looking out at the landscape of Camano Island! Definitely will be back! I came here when I was in the 6th grade from banyan elementary school. The 3 days I spent here were the best. We went on hikes, danced, had 3 meals a days and the adults were nice. There was always an activity and on the last night there was the night walk. The food was bomb which was my fave part. Send ur kid here u won't regret it. I still have my class picture from this trip and it brings nothin but good memories and I wish I could go back awwww the good old days read more

This was the worse place we booked ever. I confirmed our reservations at 11:00am on the Friday we were suppose to check in. When we arrived at 5:15 our cottage was occupied. The Office was not open and no help was to be found. We finally found a crews man who called the owner and they said they contacted me via email and voicemail stating the cottage had plumbing issues. However, at that point I did not have a voicemail or email. Come to find out a voicemail was left at 5:01pm Friday night but because we were already up the mountain with no service I did not receive the voicemail until the next day. No email was ever sent. No contact has been made to date yet. I was very disappointed because per the voicemail they made a big stink about the plumbing how it did not work. They did not expect us to be up there to see another family occupy the room. The area was really weird. Multiple people praying in circles with "quite zone" signs posted in the driveway/street. The place was a total shit hole. I would never go back or recommend this place. read more

I had two experiences with Arrowhead Ranch from the perspective of both teacher and parent. The camp's organization is one of the best youth & education oriented programs I've ever seen. The entire week is focused around the themes of nature, science, creative thinking, fitness, fun, social cooperation, and respect. The staff is expertly trained, and passionate about ensuring that all of the kids are enriched and safe at all times. The activities are structured and disciplined, but always conducted in a compassionate and supportive environment. The accommodations are well-supervised, and all the activities promote cooperation. The food is excellent as well. Every minute of every day was filled with opportunities to give the kids a nature-centric experience that is unlike anything they have ever seen. They will leave Arrowhead Ranch happier and enriched in ways that many of them will have never experienced, and may never experience again. I think that all kids should have this experience, and every school would reap expansive benefits for their students that will continue to pay rewards long after their stay at Arrowhead Ranch is concluded. read more

I booked this hotel in order to attend a wedding and I arrived to the location with a note on the office door that told me my key was in the room because I was late for check in, but I arrived at 4:15 and to my knowledge the office didn't close until 5. I was not to keen on this because it seemed unsafe to me. However, I was able to locate my room only to find dead spiders in my room and no air conditioning and it was a very hot day. Long story short I got back to the hotel later that night and it was so dark I could barely see my room, the rooms are like individual cottages and you have to walk up a small flight of stairs to get in. I ended up leaving because I did not feel comfortable, I couldn't even see my room. The next day I went back to return the key and speak to a manage, but there was no one at the front desk. There was a key drop off box, so I dropped my key in the box and left. I called the next day to speak with the manager or someone and I was told by the manager that he would have maintenance check the air and call me back to discuss a refund. He never called me back. So I called again and spoke with the front desk clerk and she informed me that they do not have air conditioning on the property. I asked her why the manager blatantly lied to me. She told me she understood my concern and would talk to the owner of the property in order to maybe get me a partial refund. It's been almost two weeks and I still haven't received a phone call. Needless to say I will never book this hotel again. The issue could have easily been resolved and management did not take the time to even tell me that they could not give me a refund which would have been a courteous gesture. read more
