I highly recommend everyone stay away from TCR. TL;DR several roofing installation mistakes made,…read moresevere lack of communication from TCR throughout the entire process, and I was asked to write a review before work even began - red flag. After getting roof replacement quotes from 5 different companies, I decided to go with the second to cheapest option - which was Twin City Roofing. And of course, I got what I paid for. The problems began after I signed the quote and handed over the deposit check. I live next to a day care and young children play outside all of the time. Paul, the project manager that was working with me, suggested they perform all of the work on the 4th of July week since kids likely wouldn't be at the day care then. I arranged with my neighbor to not have kids there that week. A few weeks go by and I didn't hear from Paul or anyone else at TCR. The Friday before the 4th of July week, I reached out to Paul to find out when they would be coming and he said "Next week I believe". Then on Monday when no one arrived, I reached out to Paul again. He responded by saying he was on vacation and that Robert P. in the production office could help. I reached out to Robert and he said "I can tell you it won't be this week." Obviously I was unhappy that the roof wasn't going to be replaced that week but I was more upset with the lack of communication throughout the process. It should not be on the client to have to contact the company multiple times to try to get answers. Nonetheless, when the roofers came to replace the roof on my house, garage and shed, they came unannounced. The concerning issues came from work on the roofs. The shingles on the ridge of my shed transitioned from shingles that are meant to be put on ridges to what look like starter shingles. It is very obvious this is not correct. And on my garage, there is a full 15" of a starter shingle that is literally just hanging from the edge of my roof. How did this get missed?? And the biggest issue is with the flat roofs on my house. I asked all of the appropriate questions to Paul from the outset to make sure that there would be grading on the flat roofs such that all of the water would flow to the spout and drain. Alas, a few days after the work was complete, we got our first rain storm and I saw water pooling along the edges of the flat roof and heavy pooling in one corner. I contacted TCR on July 14th and sent pictures of all of these issues. I didn't get a response so I sent a second email on 7/20. I finally got a response from Tyler and he asked me when would be a good time the following day for him to check out my issues. I responded with a time in the morning. I then didn't hear back from him and he did not show up the next day. I was later contacted by Robert and he said he was working on a game plan on getting my issues addressed. Five days later (7/26), he sent another email saying he would have a game plan the following day and he would let me know. As you can imagine, I did not hear from him on 7/27. I emailed Robert again on 7/28 with no response. Finally on 8/9, Tyler came out to my house to take pictures of my concerns. He agreed that all of them need to be addressed. He said he would let me know soon what the next steps would be. I have not heard from him since. I emailed Robert on 8/16 telling him Tyler came out to my house and that I was looking for more information when the fixes can occur. I have not heard from TCR since - at all. I should have known from the get go something was off because after I gave Paul the deposit check, he asked me to write a good review of his efforts to boost the company. I was certainly not going to write a review for services that had not yet begun. If you do go with TCR, make sure to pay as little as possible up front so they have to come back and fix issues before they get their full payment.

This company is so disorganized and is losing employees. I was assigned three different project…read moremanagers and never received any information about how a phase of the project went. The crews showed up without warning three times, which is dangerous and disruptive for my tenants. They attached my gutters to rotten wood that was supposed to be replaced and left the gutter guards with space so debris can get in. I have never felt so helpless and trapped in a contract with a company that does not communicate about what is to come, what has happened, and what will be. I am not certain or confident that the work has been finished and finished well. They really broke my trust. The stress, anger, and fear that I have felt for the past six months cold never be worth the price.

I was referred too John by another Very well known Large respected contractor in town who always…read moreuses them for their familys propertys. That was last fall and the season had ended. Never the less John came out with samples and we discussed two major buildings several roof types but selected a 35 y high end shingle. Not the cheap ones made in Shakopee you find allot here (I know them from seperates enterprise Atlas is not being quoted here). John was $12.5k under the last 2 companies I tried, both of whom flaked out and didn't start working or ever returned calls again. [Ai says this was in the normal price range but on the very fair side]. Come spring John called me first too give me heads up on temps , schedule and wait list, we had a few weather issues in the way. He came back we talked about some side jobs I didn't expect he would cover including; a shed, siding, missing soffets leading too drip rails falling off, and wood rotting. He added it for a few hundred and truthfully his crew actually did a lil extra gratas. They also upgraded all vents as well as adding one [mine were new but the plastic kind rodents can break into but no longer]. Come warmer weather this spring they got here an did the sidejobs the day before, then attacked roof , then by noon it was done. Took about 5 hours the crew covered everything by house, minded robot mower and cleaned the debris up including nails with magnetic roller sweeps. Communication has been been a high point here I simply wrote a check afterwards n it was done. Other firms I tried wanted allot more money, non compete, and 6 month commitment contracts. Plus were high pressure [ then of course never showed again]. At that point I decided Id ask for referrals an got Atlas. Afterwards I'm told too expect an inspector too double check it, then if there's a problem call any time. I have actually but only too get referrals on some tricky unrelated jobs involving river landscaping not because of any issues with the work. Good old fashioned net working. So basically I recommend Atlas for : -Communication/professionalism -Timeliness -Speed -Thoroughness -Value -Simplicity/no pressure dealing -Cleanup/protection -A mindfulness of proper conditions too adhear shingles under, he could clearly do more work but wouldn't unless conditions were correct. This speaks too me of someone who cares about reputation and quality over quantity. So I say proceed here with out qualms or doubts. Plus he's a nice guy with a friendly crew too work with. Ps. I normally don't leave reviews unless I feel it's warranted, I write them for compensation and do product testing so they are work. Doing it for free on Yelp is it's own statement. Naturally people don't know this beforehand, and they didn't ask for one

Our roof was installed in 2019, and since we moved in in 2022, we have had no fewer than five…read morerepair patches completed due to ongoing issues. While the company did perform the repairs at no charge, the repeated problems point to either poor workmanship or defective materials from the original installation. At this point, our larger concern is the lack of communication and accountability. Despite multiple calls and emails requesting a long-term solution, the company has stopped responding entirely. A roof is a major investment, and homeowners should be able to trust both the quality of the work and the professionalism of the company standing behind it. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend this company due to the ongoing workmanship concerns and poor communication.

He said they looked like they were "wrapped by my 4 year old grandkid." There was a leak on my porch roof twice during and right after construction and was told to move the A/C out of that window. They had me work with a door installer who told me box store doors were cheap and he doesn't install them but when it came time to install the door they gave me a cheap one from Menards that wouldn't lock. The person who installed it told me to go buy a new spring and lock for it. They left the siding around the door cut unevenly and unpainted and said they would come back for that and to install a new lock. I gave up on arguing over the cheap door. They never came back. They left garbage on my lawn twice and killed a bunch of my plants that never grew back. I got one B.S. line after another. They did fix some things after I pushed but didn't follow through on the rest. Really disappointed.
