They put nice little vegetable decorations on top of all their dishes. Not sure if this is needed to be honest, as the focus for me is the taste, not the decorations on top. It was my first time here and we agreed that the curries were simply not flavorful enough and tasted like tomato paste. The Indian curry spices were just not really there. The garlic naan was the highlight however. Hot and buttery and crispy. It could have been a bit more fluffy though. All in all, a pretty good place for Indian food if that's what you're in the mood for. However the search continues for me for the best Indian food in hamburg.

After the meal, one is served mango schnapps and paan mukhwas. I ordered naan bread and spicy chicken tikka masala, which came with rice. My meal arrived very quickly, and the presentation of the food was very on-point (see attached photos), just like the ambiance. My waiter also brought a green chili sauce, which wasn't that spicy but tasted very good. I thought the tikka masala here wasn't bad but wasn't great and wouldn't order it again. I'd also recommend picking a different dish if you're between options. The naan was very tasty, and the rice was decent. I can recommend this restaurant for a group dinner due to the great ambiance and service quality. Despite not being super impressed with the taste of my entree, I left feeling very satisfied and want to come back to try a different dish.

I also love the dark wood look of the floors, walls, chairs and tables. I often order a coffee bar drink, but sometimes I enjoy those Bio soft drinks or Fritz colas. There is also beer/alcoholic wine coolers as options. I have yet to try a crepe but they always smell really yummy especially when you can smell the Nutella or melted chocolate sauce, Mmmm. I have eaten the croques which I alway have enjoyed whether it is Schinken (Ham), a Tuna melt, or a veggie variety, they are all very good and the bread they use for the sandwiches really is extremely light, warm, flakey and tasty! Prices are fair here, and maybe a euro or two more than other similar options in Schanze because food in this neighborhood in general is not expensive if you compare to other areas of Hamburg, but the price is worth is, because you get a very yummy sandwich, can have coffee, enough alternative drink choices, a great sitting area with open window that peeks into an alley wall covered with art, free WiFi for restaurant customers, and if you get a sweet tooth, have a crepe for dessert! The only downside is that the service can be pretty slow. especially if it gets too busy, you end up waiting awhile to order, awhile to pay, and probably the most frustrating if you are hungry, but awhile to eat... It turned out to be really good and the portions are solid. They have a "Mittagskarte" which makes everything affordable if you come during the day. I've not yet eaten dinner here but I presume it fills up fast. Service is always polite...have now been here a couple times and food tends to come out fairly quickly. It's also nice to sit outside if the weather allows for it but there aren't that many tables...as is the case with most places on the Lange Reihe.
