This is a fantastic cigar shop. It has a nice selection in the humidor and even has a little lounge area. We were passing by in Park Ridge and stopped by while looking at the other shops. As we were looking we couldn't find my brand of Jericho Hills. The manager was kind enough to FaceTime the owner to find them. If that's not the best customer service I don't know what is. I would certainly check this place out if you're in the area and I'll for sure be back myself. read more

I always shop local and support small businesses. Al is very knowledgeable on cigars and is always happy to give advice depending on your needs. I have found this shop to be a great asset to our community. As much as I like a cigar every now and again, this is a go to spot for a nice gift as well. read more

We have gone here several times. I was looking at the empty cigar boxes. I asked if they were available, clerk said they were for customers. My husband had 75. 00 in cigars in his hand to purchase. I would have put them back and left. He bought the cigars. I was going to buy my husband something for our anniversary, but I'll go somewhere else. I will never go back. I will also find the cigars he bought somewhere else. read more

I think the other reviews here are spot on. What I've come to realize is the staff follow you into the humidor because the selection is so huge, there are cigars you wouldn't be able to find on your own. It felt like big-brother watching at first, but I've come to embrace the behavior as owners wanting me to find some good cigars...and they have some really good cigars! read more

This shop has a little bit of everything. Pick up a lotto ticket, a bobble head doll and some chewing gum. This quaint shop with it's old world flair sells loose tobacco, cigars, cigarettes, sodas and sports memorablia. read more

This place is totally whacked. There are hookahs, autographed sports memorabilia and a decent size humidor filled with high quality Cigars. I had no idea that this place even existed until I passed it while walking around Park Ridge. I still can't get over how strange this place was. The young man who was working the counter answered all of my questions about the autographed jersey's and pictures but when I made my way into the humidor he tailed me like a suspect. I thought that he was going to tell me about some of the Cigars that they stocked, but he knew as much about Cigars as the Pope. I think he was afraid that I was going to steal something. It was quite odd. I can't really complain too much, I walked out of the shop with a couple of rare Gurkha's and a few other smokable goodies. The prices were about the same as any other place in Cook County and the Cigars were in good condition. Around the world is not the kind of place that I'm going to visit on a regular basis, but if I'm in the area I will stop in again. I'm just hoping that I don't get treated like a bank robber on my next visit. read more

Al is a very knowledgeable individual who helps you find quality cigars that are within your budget. He always recognizes me when I walk through the door, which adds a nice touch to this small establishment. Depending on the size of the sale, he will absolutely make you a deal, and throw in a few goodies. Again, he treats you well, and makes you feel like a valued customer. I have always enjoyed my cigar shopping experience at this shop. read more

Al, the owner, is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Just tell him your smoking style and he will direct you to a cigar that you're sure to enjoy. Another great aspect of Around the World Cigars is the walk in humidor. At first, it looks like the selection is limited to the cabinet style humidors, but once you go into the Walk In, you'll realize just how Huge his selection truly is. read more

Along the way he gave us even more ideas by letting us look at pictures of his own extraordinary landscape. He never pressured us to buy anything and even came back later to check on us. This spring we went to purchase a tree for our yard. Found what we wanted for $800. We would prefer that professionals plant this tree. All good until: Tree cost: $800. Delivery and planting: $1200. So an $800 tree costs $2000 to have planted. Are you kidding me? 150% service charge to plant. That's like buying a $1000 big screen tv from Abt or Best Buy and paying $2500 total to have it installed. No rational person would do this. By comparison, we have purchased trees from other local nurseries and their planting fees are typically 50% of tree cost. So an $800 tree would cost an additional $400 to plant. Total cost: $1200. Who in their right mind would pay 150% of the cost of the item to have it "installed?" Do better, Lurvey. This is madness.
