We were greeted on the door by a energetic young man Malik Arjun who seated us right away. We had gone there at an odd time of 230 pm. He helped us pick what to order. He even brought us appetizers for free since they were wrapping up the buffet. He ensured that our food was made quickly and delivered promptly. So he gets 10 on 10 on service. Now talking about the food, It was on point... delicious and flavorful. We ordered Mysore masala dosa, Utpam, Goat Sukha with Naan. All the items were excellent. Peanut chutney very yum. Sambar could have been hotter. Missed coconut chutney. The place was clean, appropriately decorated and seemed reasonably well maintained. I found out that the owners were software engineers and were doing this on the side. The lady (owner) was professional and very good to talk to. Every time I visit my ma we like to get Indian food. Bloomington has some pretty good spots. Aroma was offering a 20% off for online orders. We decided to try the chicken family meal. This was alooootttt of food but really good. Lots of left overs for tomorrow :) We had the tandoori chicken, spicy chicken rice, chicken noodles, butter chicken and bread. Everything was excellent! My favorite was the spicy chicken rice. My mom loved the butter chicken. The tandoori chicken was larger than normal but nothing wrong with that. For take out Indian I have nothing bad to say. Very polite staff and made me feel at home. I found a dish I wasn't sure if it was the same that I had before but regardless it was amazing. Their cheese naan is light and fluffy while remaining cheesy which is a nice touch and complimented my entree. A clean restaurant is a nice atmosphere to enjoy a wonderful meal. This place used to be very good for lunch buffet especially for vegetarians. However, the last two times I visited the place the only fresh vegetable item they had was either diced fried potatoes without gravy or cabbage and one daal or sambhar. No vegetable item with gravy. Makes it difficult to eat naan when there's nothing with gravy for vegetarians. There are five to six non veg dishes on the buffet both with and without gravy. Just wondering when the price of buffet is same for all, why this place doesn't have at least one good fresh vegetable dish especially gravy based. Overtime the quality of buffet seems to have degraded. Really disappointed with where their quality is headed. read more

I took my friend here for her 50th birthday dinner tonight. This was my first time and the food was excellent. I ordered all my favorites for her to try and she loved them all. Not only was the food great, the hospitality was number one! They treated us to a mango smoothie, Indian Chinese fusion appetizer and at the end of the meal a wonderful layered heart cake with table decor and napkins that said Happy 50th Birthday. I have ordered a Hyderabad chicken 65 Biryani and it was very bad. It actually tastes like tamarind rice instead of Biryani and that doesn't have any spice and salt. This is hands down the very BEST Indian food I've eaten in blono. The lunch buffet was right at $13. We arrived at 11:15 and by 11:30 the place was packed. Worth every penny and then some. I know I love Indian food, but I do not know all the names of dishes I eat. I pictured two of my favorite items on the buffet. The okra potato dish was delicious! Came here for dinner and food was good, service not so much. We walked in and asked for a table for 2. We had to wait while someone, who i'm assuming was one of the owners, was on the phone (his attitude was very dismissive). Once we were seated it took a while for someone to come and take our orders. There was one waitress who had just come on shift but she visited every single table there except ours, which I cant understand why. Once food was ordered it came out quickly and was delicious. We had the dry chili chicken for appetizer and daal makhni, lamb vindaloo and chicken manchurian biriyani for main course. We loved everything!! I also recommend the chai to go with your after dinner dessert. My other issue, other than service, was the bathroom. None of the stalls have toilet paper dispensers and the soap/paper towel dispensers were empty (they had soap and a roll of paper towels (that were wet) on the side - just looked dingy and not ready for use. I would have given them a 4 star if service had been better. We are looking forward to visiting again and hopefully I can give them that one extra star. read more

This restaurant is a great addition to the neighborhood. If you enjoy Indian food you should definitely stop at Aroma. We have eaten at Aroma twice in the past two weeks. Delicious hot fresh food and attentive service. We have sampled the paneer tiki marsala, chicken curry, goat curry, chana marsala and several varieties of nan bread. All were delicious. There used to be two really nice and polite ladies who ran the place and made you feel home. Not anymore! Now the whole show is run by a young lady which is not nice. You tell her a buffet item is empty, she gives you that quick automatic "it's coming" response without any care to ever say anything to the kitchen and of course by the end of your meal that tray is still empty. The translation of this automatic "it's coming" is "eat whatever is still there", and of course it is never the chicken dishes that running out. It is always that one or two non-chicken dish that you can actually eat that is empty and not refilled. Worse yet, once I told her about something being empty half an hour before the end of the buffet and the response of this new lady hostess was "kitchen closed"! read more
