After finally getting a car, we now have the freedom to reach those tricky to get to places when…read moreusing public transport. My boyfriend took me here to enjoy the nature which was really lovely. As a suprise he had booked a table for 4pm. Unfortunately due to covid you cannot be seated inside the building. At the time it was sunny so I was fine to sit outside, peering longingly through the windows at the crystal chandeliers. The menu was basic containing mostly sandwiches, cakes and quiches. We ended up going for the afternoon tea which was £16 per person along with a milkshake. It was going quite nicely until a couple with their kid sat close by , which it was making a racket and spilled tea all over the table...and it started to get really cold... the tea arrived but with no milk.. by the time we got this the tea was stone cold. Oh and my partners coffee was rushed, on top of the plunger of the cafetière lay smooshed coffee beans, so he had a gritty coffee.. The three tiers arrived, I personally think one between us would have been suffice as we couldn't see each other haha and it left little room on the table. The bottom layer contained thin strips of sandwiches with the crusts cut off, an egg, beef & horseradish , smoked salmon & cream cheese, and a ham and cheese one.. oh and a quiche.. it was all really tasty. The 2nd layer had a scone with clotted cream and jam and on the side x2 marshmellows with chocolate sauce. The top layer held a small piece of brownie, a tiramisu and another cake oh and some fruit. Overall it was plesant enough but I found the prices steep for what we actually received . I would probably grab a drink here a very light bite when we can sit indoors again but nothing more. Service was plesant but forgetful, I could hear throughout our time there staff apologising to other customers about certain things..

I'm on a restricted diet and the team worked hard to make sure all of my needs were met in a cheerful manner. A highlight to our stay in Rochdale. It's such a lovely way to end a a ramble in the many walks nearby.

One of the good things about my home town having such a poor centre is the fact that none of the…read morebig coffee chains will touch it with a 12foot brown sugar swizzle stick. Don't get me wrong,I don't have a problem with the Starbucks,Neros and Costas of this world,I'll happily drink in all of them (I miss the St annes Square Coffee Republic a lot) but I don't like their prices making having a brew feel like a treat, rather than just whetting your whistle whilst out shopping/mooching. I think, although i'm not sure, that Coffee Cali is part of a chain, but it doesn't really feel like one. It is just a relatively small cozy coffee shop that has the usual mixture of rock hard seats, and comfy seats (There is never a middle ground). Tables outside for when the weather isn't nuclear winter,or for the nicotine minded (Me). They have a nice selection of food which I can't tell you about as I haven't eaten there, but they have the usual suspects where the beverages are concerned, and the prices are of the "Ooo that's not bad!" rather than the "How much? For a cup of coffee???". They do a really nice amaretto latte, and a lovely hot chocolate with whipped cream, marshmallows and a flake. You get change from a £2 coin for that particular drink too. I like Coffee Cali,I just wish they'd change the C to a K. Come on,who wouldn't want to have a brew in a shop named after the Hindu Goddess of death, time and change? Just me then? : )

It goes generally unnoticed unless pointed out, and so is never insanely busy but always receives good custom. The staff working there are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the food and drinks served are of the best quality, at very reasonable prices - For example £1.45 for a regular hot chocolate with cream, marshmellows, and a flake. It is set out with modern decoration, on a two level floor. There are options of comfy chairs, couches, and tall stools. I'd definately recommend to all :)

So I have driven past this little tea rooms many times but never actually seen it. I was a guest at…read morea privately hired Sunday lunch event to mark a half century victory birthday. I heard it's not usually open a Sunday which I personally think is a mistake. However it's a small quaint little indoor tea rooms only about 6 tables and some comfy chairs, with a little counter at the helm boasting all the gorgeous cakes. There was a lovely glass of fizz for arrival and then continual traditional British triangle sandwiches served throughout the afternoon. The tea was served in Downton Abbey style tea cups and saucers against the back drop Of some very beautiful Laura Ashley wall paper and some impressive chandeliers. The staff where very attentive. And lovely to chat too but also child friendly. Which is a bonus as I had my lite shadow in toe. He was most impressed with the tiers of cakes they brought round. Sized just right for me and him. It was a lovely day and outside they have a little decking terrace with some chair so, tables and umbrellas. Only one little unisex toilet but it was clean, fresh and smelt lovely. All in all I thought it was a lovely afternoon. I will need to go back to give an honest review of the actual tea rooms when it's open to the public. But for a private event on a Sunday. At lunch time if you are looking for something for those ladies of a certain age I do would recommend here.
