They have a large selection of wine and an outrageously huge buffet of pastas, salads, salami, mortadella, bruschetta and various crostini.
To those of you unfamiliar with the concept of aperitivo, the entire buffet is FREE. Just stroll up and take as much as you want!
If the weather permits, take advantage of the ample outside seating on the beautiful Piazza delle Vettovaglie.
Prices are reasonable. Cocktails (Negroni, Cuba Libre etc.) cost around EUR5, while a Prosecco is around EUR3.
I say around because (and this is the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) depending on the day and the bartender, I've been charged either EUR7, EUR7.50 or EUR8 for the exact same 2 drinks (a Negroni and a Prosecco).
I'm not sure if certain bartenders are charging non-Italians more (not an uncommon practice in Italy), but it's pretty hard to get upset when you can gorge yourself on an mountain of free, delicious food. Plus, compared to other countries, EUR8 for a cocktail and a Prosecco is basically dirt cheap.
Ah, Italians.so sneaky, yet so lovable.
