I seem to always go on the same day, heard Saturday and Sunday are the best day. Because more people go on Friday and Saturday. I got my friend to sign up! Honestly it has change my closet I love to go thrift shopping but I come home to discover a broken stitch or a stain. I love that before making it to the shwapclub they have been inspected one by one. You still need to check your white because of fondation stains. I have been trying to have a more minimalist wardrobe so I pack a few bag of clothing items and give one to my sister and keep the other one. I love that any items is a credit, purse, jeans, bikini... not every item you will bring will get accepted they have to be in great condition, in saison and have style. They have 6 change room for you to try on before you use your credits. They accept any brand other then ones that have been closed. To make sure things are still up to date. You can pay for a membership or every time you go. The owner is so lovely, she was there to help tonight.

How it works: Go through your closet, looking for gently worn clothes, shoes, purses and/or jackets. Like that gorgeous dress you bought on sale at Zara but don't really fit into anymore. Or that neon shirt your favorite aunt got you for Christmas but you never wore. As the saying goes, one woman's trash is another woman's treasure! Bring your goodies to Shwap Club, where a lovely girl will sort through your bag and give you one credit for every item that makes the cut. That means clothes in good condition without holes, stains, etc. Pay $12 per visit or $85 for an unlimited annual membership. Then, start treasure hunting! You can leave with as many items as your # of credits, no matter the type of clothing. The store is neat and cozy, with a mid-century sitting area in the front and curated clothes separated according to category and color. The experience is relaxing yet thrilling, as I never know what I will find. Updating my closet without spending a dime is awesome, but most importantly I'm glad that Shwap Club has made me more mindful of my spending habits, helping me contribute less and less to mass consumerism. It's made me that much more appreciative of our planet.

Alas! A Flea market free of dust! While we have our favorite Antique store ways from Old Montréal,…read moreEcoDépôt was our answer (about a 30 minute drive from Old Montréal) for items being right up our alley with a bunch of good prices. Plus I also get a kick out of finding as many cool items in Montréal (which somehow seem to look and sound classier than the same shiit I can get back home). Covering lots of square footage, EcoDépôt is what it sounds like located in an industrial area off the highway. The first two things I noticed walking in was their Piano and Bill Withers playing. And by the way, the rest of their 60's R&B playlist was cool to hear in these parts. If it's chairs you're looking for- they have variety. Leather chairs? Several. Lamps? Many- plus so much other things. Actually one of the things hubs noticed is how clean items are and don't have years of dust on them! I'm still adding finishing touches to my vanity room and was hoping I'd find a specific stud chair here- but left empty-handed. But I did find a royal blue, metal utility box for CAN$39-which I'll repurpose for some of my items. Service was super nice from Ilene(?). I made the purchase alright, but I also wanted to close on a sweet deal- and EcoDepot didn't bulge. So just remember...there's no haggling here. Although I didn't find that perfect 'je ne sais quoi' piece that I had to have- I came out with something else.

This is a fun place to spend an afternoon looking around at vintage furniture and household goods…read more I don't understand people who go to IKEA all the time when you can just as easily hit the thrift and vintage shops and score stuff which is A) Much cheaper B) Better made, and not the usual Made in China crap C) Unique and one-of-a-kind. Chances are none of your friends will find the same Rococo-style lamp base that you might find here. I collect vintage enameled cast-iron cookware like Copco, Le Creuset, Desco and I found a few pieces here in excellent condition and at a much cheaper price than I've seen elsewhere for the same thing. I think if you have a certain eye for design and aesthetics, you can easily find some stuff here, from kitchen table sets, to old toasters from the 1940's that with a little elbow-grease and watching how-to videos on Youtube, you can easily bring back to their former glory.

Everything in very good to excellent condition. Prices are reasonable given the quality of the items, roughly 50% of what they would be brand new, +/- about 10%. No crazy bargains to be had, but if you're looking for a specific item and don't want to pay retail, this can be a good option. My daughter has wanted a Canada Goose coat for a while, but they are around $1000 new. I found one here in excellent condition for $400 and was very happy with the purchase, especially as they had a sale on that day for an extra 10% off. Watch their Facebook page and Instagram for sales and for new items in stock. The only negative I had about the store was that there was a very faint smell of cigarettes but it was not in the clothes so not really a big deal. The lady in the store was friendly and helpful and there was no pressure to buy anything. With the fashion industry having such an environmental impact, I've been trying to buy fewer things by buying quality clothes that will last a longer time and buying consignment whenever I can. Will definitely stop in here whenever I am on the hunt for a new addition to the wardrobe.

They also have beautiful jewellery and accessories. I'm glad in a way that I don't live nearby because I'd be spending too much here! Highly recommended.
