Friendly group of masons - had good chow and great fellowship. The building is very historic and the lodge room is beautiful.

As a visiting brother from Michigan by way of Richmond, TX, I found the lodge and it's members very welcoming. Thank you.

The guys at Army Lodge are great, and that's the beauty of the Masonic Lodge. They cook a mean dinner too.

We visited the Riverwalk and surrounding area multiple times on our visit to San Antonio and it was probably the most enjoyable thing that we did while we were there. Just in my few visits, I had lots of different experiences. The Riverwalk can be calm and beautiful or it can be fun and lively and sometimes it can be all of those things just depending on where you are within the walk. Also depending on when you choose to go, as I noticed a distinctly different vibe between my daytime and nighttime visits. As soon as you drop down from the street level into the walk, it's like you're in a whole new place. The water winds through the walk so you always have a lovely view and the calming sound of water with you wherever you venture on the walk. There are tons of shops and restaurants and shaded little spots where you can just sit on a bench and enjoy the ambiance. It's clean, well maintained and surprisingly easy to navigate, especially with all the people moving through it at any particular time. Even though some spots felt crowded, I was still always able to maneuver around without feeling claustrophobic. I think it's the openness of the walk and the fact that the river running right next to you create this open space above. Anyway, I had some really nice meals here and enjoyed some good shopping, but mostly just walking and chatting with the people that I care about while enjoying the beauty of my surroundings. You should definitely put the Riverwalk at the top of your list if you're planning on visiting the area as I can definitely recommend a stop here without hesitation.

It's a sentimental location for me and I have fond memories of making the visit with my dad in my early 30s. Shops and restaurants line the tranquil water making for pleasant strolls year-round. Even in the height of tourist season, it's still easy to navigate and enjoyably get around and take in the sights. How fun it is to sit along the walk at a cafe table with lunch or a beverage and people watch.

The members are always amazing and to see the community engagement was inspiring, especially in our current state. Food was fresh, meatballs were amazing. The gravy was en pointe and the Italian lady serving salad perfect amount no nonsense attitude that you would expect and respect. The food will remind you of what you would expect at home and the people make sure you feel like you're are there, HOME. bonus points were upstairs wedding venue if anyone's looking.

The desserts were varied and like Carol, my partner in crime & I tried a cannoli and a slice of what was called "praline cake"(?) The question mark is because it didn't seem the ladies who worked the table didn't even know what to call it but they were trying it and the comments were really nice. So of course, we had to get a slice. From what we gathered it was comprised of spice cake, pralines, coconut, and cinnamon and I really want that dang recipe. When you enter, there is at least one gentleman seated to the left for ticket purchases (unless you bought ahead of time). We told him we were meeting our group and he told us we were welcome to see if our party was there before buying a ticket. That way, we wouldn't be stuck with tickets if our friends weren't available. How considerate! The bar sells sodas and wine (Coke, Diet Coke, bottled water, etc) for $1.50 and close by the bar was this really cool guy playing an upright piano. Someone even joined in and started singing with him. It was definitely lively for a Sunday afternoon, that's for sure! Parking - be warned. Even though we met at 1PM, there were quite a few people coming in and out (bringing food to go, meeting family & friends, etc). The street can accommodate some vehicles; however, the building has two parking areas. The main one which is right next to the CCIS and the other in the back behind that.

She was so friendly and did not miss a beat. Another waitress came at one point to fill our waters, she noticed it, and she complimented the other waitress and thanked her. To me, that is teamwork, and I love that vibe. The tables are smaller with some longer ones in the back, so we were barely able to fit 3 dishes on it, but the dishes are smaller but pack so much flavor and joy. We got the Big Red Barbacoa tacos, grilled skewers, and the Pork Belly tacos. With each bite I understood more and more why it was a James Beard semifinalist for best new restaurant this year. $9 a taco? Yes. And I would pay it again without hesitation. We enjoyed the pork belly taco the most, and what I loved is that we weren't chewing into a fat cap. This pork belly was tender, moist, perfectly seasoned and the slaw was perfect to cut through the rich pork belly. The Barbacoa tacos were also very good To Barbacoa tacos were filled to the brim with Barbacoa, and I loved the slight sweetness from the Big Red in the tortilla. I needed that pickled radish and the salty cheese to balance the meat, and it was delicious down to the last bite. The grilled skewers were also very good, especially the Wagyu, and I just loved how simple yet perfectly balanced the sauces were and how they complimented the meats without overpowering them. I honestly like the chicken more than the pork belly, but my kiddo ate that pork belly so fast I barely got to eat one! Perfectly crispy, not greasy, just a great end to our meal. We also got the Daylight cocktail which was such a refreshing cocktail during the day, tart and crisp and simple. I could drink that cocktail all day everyday! And the espresso martini looked divine, but I just couldn't have caffeine this late in the day. Anacacho was so good that we are heading over there now to grab some breakfast and coffee. Their corn tortillas were thick and strong and carried the weight of the inside of the taco nicely, and they have breakfast tacos that are calling our name along with some gluten free pastries too! The waitress was very well versed in gluten allergy concerns, and they also have a GF modified French Toast...yes please! Anacacho is a perfect place for some small bites, cocktails, and delicious food. The 3 dishes we got were PLENTY for all 3 of us to share and kept us full for hours. What an excellent experience! We cannot wait to come back!
