A bit of hyperbole perhaps since there are lots of other ways to get to the sea on Cape Cod but there is no mistaking that Hyannis does indeed have a nice harbor. One of the nicest area along the harbor is a little park named after Michael Aselton, a police officer that died in the line of duty in 1983. The park was officially dedicated in 1996 and includes a few walking trails, benches and of course some view lovely views. The park is located right next to the Hyannis Maritime Museum and the one and a half mile long Hyannis Kennedy Legacy Trail runs right through the park. A nice park in a very nice place dedicated and named after someone who sacrificed all in the line of duty.

There is a connected playground with areas for 2-5 year olds and 5-10 year olds. Really fun and interactive features like pirate ships, spinning features, and slides. The entire play area is rubber so you don't have to worry about falls or wood chips. There is a nice grassy and shaded area in the middle to set up chairs and a picnic. A few tables are available but with no shade. You are also next to a dog park, hiking trails, basketball courts, baseball fields, and tennis courts. There is something for the entire family. Absolutely gorgeous FENCED IN playground/splash pad with bathrooms and plenty of shaded areas. Please note the splash pads don't start splashing until 10 am. We travel to the cape every year and i'm so thankful we came across this spot during our annual visit this summer. We spent almost 4 hours here. Bring a packed lunch, a dry set of clothes for the kiddos and a book to read while your kids live their best lives. Also, a lot of the local moms frequent here often and they were very friendly! We will be back :)

The beach is relatively small, with little room to move around, depending on the tide. Despite that being a concern, the view all around is enjoyable. For more entertainment, there is also a playground and a climbing tower. Picnic tables and grills are scattered throughout the park. Overall, it's kept up very nicely, and I'm thrilled to see everything in great shape. Here's a reminder: there is an entrance fee for entering during the daytime.

There are lights under the fountain in the reflection pond. The fountain is meant to be the eternal flame when lit up. I'd love to see it one day in the evening. Our walk through the memorial was very nice & relaxing. There are benches in front of it so that you can sit and soak in the view of the bay. The only caution I have as you're walking around is to watch your step. There are many Canadian geese a laying large green poops in the area. I can't even imagine what it must smell like if you step or slip on it. Just be careful.

The view is lovely, with houses nearby and Lewis Bay, seeing across the body of water. It can be windy on some days, as happened during our visit. Luckily, there were no significant incidents, but keep that in mind. There is a lot of parking space at Kalmus, which also connects to the other three beaches. In the parking lot, there is a snack bar and also a bathroom.

This is a decent stop, to get a nice view of the water leading out to Lewis Bay. The walk isn't too…read morelong from the parking lot, with overgrown plants almost covering the path, causing a hassle, especially after it rains. Thankfully though, it's not covered the whole way. It would be great to see some maintenance done at Chase Brook Park, because it will make the experience much better and enjoyable.

Since this is bigger and more room, there are benches along with picnic tables provided. The view is beautiful at the viewpoint, having a much clearer visibility all around the river leading to Lewis Bay. I'm pretty thrilled to see how great this park is, despite some very minor upgrades that need to be addressed. Take note, the bridge at the viewpoint may be slippery, due to heavy rain.
