When we did our site visit, it was exactly what we had envisioned and more. The space is beautifully decorated inside a historic Savannah building and offers thoughtful features like a Frame TV for slides or welcome messages, private restrooms, a private bar, and the ability to play your own music (which is rare for a small venue and comes without extra charges). Leah was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She responded to our initial inquiry almost immediately, something that really stood out since many other venues took days or even weeks to reply. From the first email to the site visit and all the communication leading up to the event, she was incredibly helpful and reassuring. As someone who works in hospitality and tends to be a bit of a "controller," it meant a lot to feel confident that everything was in good hands. On the day of our celebration, everything was beyond what we imagined. The space looked beautiful, and we were greeted so warmly. Sammy, our server, was attentive and fun, and the bartender was fantastic as well. And the food... absolutely incredible. Every dish exceeded expectations. Our guests are still talking about it weeks later. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the steak was outstanding, and the fried cornbread, fish dip, and cheesecake were unforgettable. A huge thank you to the Executive Chef (who even came out to greet us) and the entire kitchen team. Every member of the team made us feel cared for and ensured we had everything we needed. You need an outlandish charcuterie board to get you in the mood to begin the eating festival. The sliders had the perfect texture and the bread was tenderly placed with a delicate sauce. The tomato basil soup in a bread bowl was like heaven. The fried green tomatoes were also a favorite. The short ribs with the smothered collard greens and the cornbread were on an another planet of goodness. You want fresh local oysters on the half shelf pulled from the water only hours ago, well they got you right in house with them lying on ice and a professional shucker right there to serve you with a beautiful smile. Did I mention the dessert bar? Freshly baked cookies, macaroons, mini red velvet cake shooters, lemon puff pastries, mini cheesecakes, and other treats that would leave the sweetest sweet tooth, toothless. The food was Southern, but wound up a notch. It was not boring. It was not common. There is also a main area large enough to seat several hundred people , dance and view multi-media presentations simultaneously. If that is not enough, there is also an outside patio area for additional activities. An added benefit for the Savannah Station is free onsite parking. The interior is elegantly decorated and is capable of hosting any sort of event. I have always enjoyed attending events at Savannah Center, and they are highly recommended.

An enclosed porch stretches across the back of the City Center, and the faculty can handle a crowd. This center has 20,000 square feet of event space to include a ballroom and 10 meeting rooms. The Mackey House is, without a doubt, the best wedding venue in Savannah. From the moment we drove down the breathtaking, tree-lined driveway, we knew this was the one. The grounds are absolutely stunning--the gardens, the fountains, the romantic ambiance--it all felt like a scene from a movie. What truly set The Mackey House apart, though, was the exceptional staff. Every interaction was warm, positive, and professional. They were always smiling, welcoming, and eager to help with anything we needed. A huge shoutout to Dave, who served as both the officiant and DJ. His great sense of humor had so many of our guests asking, "Where did you find him?!" He made the ceremony feel personal, heartfelt, and fun--truly unforgettable. Dave tracked the weather closely and made the call to proceed with an outdoor ceremony--and it was perfect. Andie calmly worked behind the scenes with the in-house and vendor teams to ensure we had a solid "Plan B" in case weather forced a change, but we didn't need it! Not a drop of rain fell during first-look photos or the vows, and the sun even peeked through the clouds as they said "I do." Pure magic. We loved how each part of the celebration had its own beautifully designed space: cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing--all thoughtfully laid out and seamlessly executed. The bridal suite and groomsmen's "man cave" were perfect for getting ready. And at the end of the night, the staff packed up all of our decor and belongings, making cleanup and departure a breeze. From start to finish, everything ran flawlessly. The Mackey House team made the entire day feel stress-free--for us, our daughter and son-in-law, and every guest. There is no better stop, in the middle of the day, than at a beautiful location with a lovely glass of wine, and equally wonderful women happy to show you something new. The wine was great, the people were friendly, it was comfortable and welcoming. I also got some great local recommendations and some new wines to look for when I get home. They have a trivia night and live music, and offer something a bit different than all the other businesses on the river.

James (the owner) is incredibly easy to work with, very responsive to texts and emails, and was there the day of the event to assist with any logistics. We brought in some folding chairs and the Clearing House also had some, ask what is available and what you might need to bring in (tables, AV, cables, etc). We were allowed to bring in outside food for breakfast. The space is gorgeous, with large windows, tons of natural light, hardwood floors. The participants enjoyed the venue and we received a lot of positive feedback afterward. The only issue that is out of the control of Clearing House is parking. Our event was on the weekend so no one had an issue, but if you choose to host a weekday event it's something to keep in mind. Can't recommend this place enough! And it's reasonably priced when compared to other downtown venues. Can't beat that!
