She got a blood and urine draw and injection for the arthritis. My cat is clearly feeling better less than 24 hours later, before I even got the lab results. She isn't as sensitive to the touch, her posture is better, she acts healthier, she is even eating better even though the only treatment thus far was for bone issue not digestive issue. The staff are very nice and informative. My cat HATES the vet, screams, turns into a zombie. It's like a few hours later she is a different cat, happy, chill. My previous vet refused to treat her without tranquilizers and I couldn't deal with it.

Now after 3k+ in ER and vet bills I discovered that my kitten has been having all these GI issues because she's had worms this entire time. if Dr. Lopez and team had just listened to my concerns and done their research maybe this negligence could have been avoided. do not go to this practice it's not worth the money (spaying costs $1000). It just does not seem like this practice knows what they need to be doing. I feel like I need to warn others as it's very scary and concerning and we did trust Dr Lopez and he led us in the wrong direction ): over something so basic and simple

There have been times when the practice is very busy and it has been hard to get an appointment, but I still recommend them for anyone close by. We have gone through routine visits, tooth extraction surgery, sick visits and even euthanasia. The prices are reasonable for the area and I don't ever feel pushed to do more than I am comfortable with.

Recently we lost our Flemish Gaint Rabbit after weeks of care and failed attempts to cure a case of the sniffles that worsened to include a bladder infection. After a call to Dr. Wehrli, he was willing to allow me to stop by the office (day after his 2nd office visit) to pick up several critical care items since Tater Tot had not been eating and his overall health was noticeably worsened. Less that an hour later, I spoke with the front desk to inform them TaterTots Meds were ready to be picked up from the pharmacy and I no longer needed the antibiotic Dr. Wehrli had offered to prepare for me but I was currently on my way to pick up the other 2 items. The man I spoke with reminded me that they closed at 1pm that day and I said I will be there, driving there now. I arrived to the door at 1:02pm... doors locked, no lights and no movement. I even went around back and knocked on that door searching for some one to answer. I called several time and was put straight through to answering machine. This was 22 minutes after I had called and spoken to him (front desk). I was able to start Tater Tot on his 2nd round on antibiotics that afternoon after picking up from the compounding pharmacy. However he didnt get his critical care food suppliment until a day later because of having to order on Amazon. Tater Tot pasted away on 6/1/25... to date, no response to my email or signs of comdolances to our loss have been received by Family Pet Veterinarain. .... I will never return to this Veterinarain Office.

As a self-proclaimed high-maintenance pet owner of two dogs and two cats, I demand a lot from a vet, and this team exceeds every expectation. They are highly skilled, patient, and deeply responsive. When we relocated to the area, they took over the care of my 14-year-old, blind Labrador who had extensive medical needs. Thanks to their dedicated, compassionate care, we got one more beautiful year with him before he passed. They also provide phenomenal care to my two cats, ensuring my high-needs cat is always well looked after. The staff here deals with so much difficult emotional labor every day, yet they always show up with kindness and love. They are a true blessing to the D.C. pet community.

When he later developed an infection (entirely our fault for using the wrong size cone), they were amazing every step of the way--responsive, reassuring, and always willing to see him immediately whenever he had a setback. You can tell everyone there truly loves what they do and cares about the animals as if they were their own. We chose Friendship Heights based on their outstanding reviews and even though we were driving 45 minutes to an hour from Alexandria each way, we would make that exact same choice again without hesitation. Oscar is doing great now, and we are so grateful to the entire team for getting him through all of this. If you're looking for a place where your pet will be treated with expertise and heart, this is it.

However, the last experience I had with the non-veterinary staff has been so bad that I am making the decision to stop taking my pets to Bond altogether. I called Bond Bethesda to ask for an extention of my diabetic cat's insulin prescription that was issued several months ago by a Bond veterinarian, who has since left. I spoke to an employee named Carl, who was unable to find the record of that prescription. I will repeat this, so it's clear : BOND CANNOT FIND ITS OWN RECORD OF ITS PATIENT'S INSULIN PRESCRIPTION. Carl insisted that since there's no record, the whole evaluation will have to start from scratch. I told him that I have a text message record of this prescription having been submitted to the pharmacy by the vet, and the pharmacy has a copy of this prescription on file. No, no, no: too much work and mental effort to find and restore the record, just bring the cat back and we'll start all over. I asked to speak to the manager. She has left for today but will call me tomorrow "first thing." She never called. Being "in a meeting" was one of the excuses given. Do they actually think these excuses are believable? I requested a call from someone above the Bethesda manager and got it two days later after multiple text messages and phone calls. . Bond Vet markets itself as a "primary and urgent" care facility. An urgent care facility that doesn't have a manager available during business hours? At either the local level or above? Really? When I asked Carl and later the helpline employee for the relevant contact info, neither had "access to it." Lovely! The so-called urgent clinic is open, seeing patients and charging fees reflecting its urgent care specialisation, but no one is available to resolve an urgent situation. One of the headquarters helpline employees said that in urgent situations "we advise you to go to the ER." She also said Bond employees "have their own lives to live" Really? All of them at once during the business hours? So much for the "urgent" aspect of Bond care. It's only urgent in the sense that its clinics have extended hours. If there's a problem to be solved, it will be handled on a very non-urgent basis. If at all. I will no longer give Bond any of my business. I will not be rewarding people whose attitudes, aptitudes, and behaviors I perceive as those of a bunch of unintelligent lazy crooks, or money grabbing hoodlums, who have no regard for the client or the patient. I will file a complaint and will ask the veterinary board to force them to restore my cat's records. Very unfortunate. Not very smart on their part. I also see that they have lots of complaints about their shananigans from other former clients. I will report my experience to the Better Business Bureau as well.

The vet takes her time to address all of my concerns (and as someone who's always worried about their pup, there are usually quite a few). Backstory: We had an emergency situation where she had a cut on her paw and got surgery at another vet, she had stitches, which she then tore out. I was able to get to bond vet the same day. Ever since we've stuck to this vet. My dog isn't upset or anxious here. She really loves it. It is on the more expensive side for care, but I really love how thoroughly they go over everything, how easy it is to get an appointment, and the level of attention we get when we're there. Thank you guys!
