If I could post 0 stars I would for this business. I almost never write a bad review on anyone but this was ridiculous. My car broke down on the highway after I got out of work and requested a tow through AAA. Armonk garage was on the call. I sat there for 3 hrs waiting for them and called them 2 times. They were extremely rude and told me they knew nothing of who was on for the tows and to call AAA. AAA got no info out of them and told them to call back in 5 min. I am a woman stranded on the side of the rd and they were no help and told me if AAA and I weren't satisfied we should use someone else. Well I will NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN! They are the WORST!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS to anyone! Hope this helps anyone who is stranded. read more

The business model is pretty simple: rip off dumb tourists like this author who are in a hurry to return rental cars to Westchester County Airport, and charge 30% more than the prevailing gas rate. Yeah, you're probably not searching Yelp for gas stations. Is this rating unfair? While the price is a huge ripoff, I will say in their defense that I quickly inserted a credit card and promptly received gasoline. And none of those terrible things that can happen at gas stations, at least in movies, happened to me. Not a single pickup truck full of baseball bat-wielding rednecks approached me. read more

Got a flat tire on the way to work and promptly called AAA they sent over someone from Armonk Garage and said the expected arrival time would be 10:55 AM it was around 9:45am so I was expecting to wait long but Craig from Armonk Garage ended up showing up very quickly and was done by 10:15ish. He replaced the tire in under five minutes and pointed out one of the other tires need to be replaced. Very helpful and super kind, very thankful for his assistance! read more

Fantastic, great, amazing!!! I can't speak more highly of the people who work at this shop. They saw us at the airport with a flat, changed the tire right there for us, the spare happened to be flat too so they brought us to their shop and fixed the tire and the spare within 10min for us at 11pm. They did not need to stop or help us and they did. These are truly great people who are here to help you. A lot of auto shops rip people off and are about money but not these guys, they are genuine people who have your best interest. Most convenient gas station to the Westchester Airport, for those of you who like to refuel your own rental cars. Don't let me be misleading, this station is really not at all convenient to the airport. It's just the most convenient of the offerings at only a 15 minute drive. Gas is a little pricier here than the other stations that popped up on my Gas Buddy app, but since I messed up the time zone and was afraid to miss my flight it was worth the extra. Been here twice to refuel rental car...pulled up, paid at the pump, pumped my gas, and left. A-OK. read more

Oh the humanity.... I expect to pay high gas prices in Westchester County, particular with King Cuomo ruling the land, but this is getting out of hand. Another reviewer mentioned that they are taking advantage of people returning their rental vehicles to Westchester County Airport, and I agree 100% Prices are at least $1.00 more PER GALLON than average, just because they can get away with it, especially when the only other gas station across the street is closed for construction. You pay the same price and the work is not some guy with no uniform working on your car, at a dealer you get top notch work. We've been coming to Armonk Garage for years (note: it's still open despite construction!). Recently, we had to have our car tire changed. They were there within 30 min, repaired the tire and even kept the metal hook that caused the flat tire in the fire place to show us what the problem was. NOTE: It's not Texaco anymore - It's SUNOCO now. Came here to get my car inspected. The guy took a look at everything and the verdict came to no pass since my rear tires were worn out. I came to pick up the car and they did not charge me anything (which surprised me, since they pretty much checked everything else). So I came back to finish the inspection 2 weeks later with new tires. Passed with flying colors (well...except for the brake lite that they had to replace for $15). Overall, I had a very pleasant experience. The guys were really nice (up to the point of actually being sweet). Trustworthy too, I left my car with no fuss, no receipt needed. They also didn't need me to make appointment or anything, just drop the car off and it's done. Oh and another thing...I stuck my registration sticker on the wrong side of the windshield, so I asked them to fix that too, and they did it. They also do oil change and other maintenance services. $250 for one tire. That's just looking to rip off a customer. It's not like I drive a Ferrari. Also got my tire fixed at a very respected shop for between 130 and $150. Charging That obscene price for one tire is just insane. Probably thinking get away with it because it's Armonk and people will pay it. read more

Don't use your debit card here. I used my card there last week and 20 minutes later they had cleared my entire checking account. The bank said if I hadn't had a max on my card they would have cleared my savings too. Has anyone else had this experience? I want to sue to get my money back. read more

not a Sunoco anymore...just a no name gas station with a mini mart. still, gas is $0.40/gal more than surrounding towns. you can get cheaper gas in Greenwich, Bedford, and Pound Ridge. it's not the most expensive station in town though. Shell across the street is $0.10/gal more. read more

My wife broke down one quarter mile from this station on Main Street. The cops told her she had to get towed to this garage because she was stuck in the road. These guys charged us $150 for the tow!! Literally 200 yards! Total ripoff and were nasty about it too. Avoid these guys at all costs. read more

Visiting Armonk from out of town. One of my headlights was out, and I took it in to have the light replaced. Turns out it had just come loose. Guys at Armonk Garage fixed it. No charge! So nice to find such an honest and friendly place!! read more

I had my American made SUV towed to Armonk Garage because the starter stopped working. In the past I would have replaced the starter myself, but I can no longer lay on my back on the floor to do this kind of work. But I do know what is involved in changing a starter on an American V8 engine. The Job is less then 1 hour and I confirmed the estimated labor on several web sites. The parts cost at retail is between $125.and $160. When I called Armonk Garage to find out the cost, they told me that the car was ready and the bill was just under $500. They had not called me to ask if I wanted to pay that price to do the work which was over $200.00 more than it should have cost. When I asked why the cost was so high the response was "we are here to make money". I know getting anything in this town expensive but $300. Per hour is beyond greedy. I would avoid this place I you can. read more

If you're like me, you're leery of the quality and truthfulness of car repairmen. But I just took my car into Armonk Garage and had a fantastic experience - these guys are no-B/s, professional, courteous, and highly competent. I had just tried to get my annual inspection done by another shop but was told (as usual) that I'd need an appointment and that i would have to leave the car all day. In desperation, I pulled up to Armonk Garage and I couldn't be happier with the speed and courteousness of service. I can't guarantee that everyone will get immediate service, but I can tell you that I had an experience which restores my faith in the good old fashioned neighborhood garage. Thanks guys. read more

At best, they are deceptive and follow unsavory business practices. ------- I believe in giving others the benefit of the doubt, but I'm compelled to doubt that I benefited from Armonk Garage. This review arises from multiple disappointments that I have had with this shop. I apologize for the length of this review, but I feel that the detail is necessary to illustrate the way that Armonk Garage operates. ------- First, in late September, my brakes stopped working because of a leaking brake line. I took my car to Armonk Garage. They recommended having all of the brake lines replaced (not just the line that was leaking) since the lines were corroding/a ticking time bomb. I agreed and paid them $322 for what I thought was the peace of mind of having functional brake lines. ------- In May (seven months later, a long period of time, I recognize), I lose my brakes while driving home from work--another leak in the brake lines. I called Armonk Garage to ask if they would tow my car. Although they do towing, and although I was located only twenty minutes away, they offered no assistance of any kind. Apparently, leaving your customer stranded on the side of the road, possibly because of your own shoddy work, is good business. ------- I took my car to a different shop to discover that Armonk Garage replaced only one brake line, not all of them. Perhaps I misunderstood Armonk Garage when they said that they will replace "all of the lines." Maybe they meant "all of the segments of one brake line." Either way, the lines which they did not replace were hazardous and severely corroding in the month of May. ------- It may be suggested that my brake lines deteriorated significantly during the winter, but Armonk Garage passed my car through inspection in April (after the winter and only one month before my brake lines failed). After the April inspection, they did not comment on the terrible condition of my brake lines. According to the New York government's website, during inspection, an inspector must "[check] all brake lines and hoses [] for leaks, cracks, chafing, restrictions, and improper support." ------- One month later, against my better judgment, I brought my car to Armonk Garage to replace a fuel filter. I called ahead of time to get a quote for replacing a fuel filter. They told me, depending on the filter, "around $35." This seemed reasonable considering that other shops offer the same service for a flat $45-$55 fee. ------- After leaving my car with Armonk Garage for a couple of hours, I return, and they tell me that my car "is running fine," and that the work I requested has not been done, and that I was not being charged. I start my car to find that it is still running poorly, and that the fuel filter still needs replacement. I drive my car back over to the service area and tell them that I want the fuel filter replaced. They tell me that they didn't even have the part to begin with, and that they will replace it the following day. Time well spent. ------- The next day, I learn that they replaced not only the fuel filter, but also the spark plugs. The single service requested, the service that Armonk Garage informed me would cost in the ballpark of $35, transformed into multiple services that appeared on the final bill as over $230. At no point did I consent to any additional work being done, and at no point did Armonk Garage inform me that additional work would be done, despite the fact that Armonk Garage had ample opportunity to do so. ------- Reluctant to pay the bill, I challenged the bill and their decision to do the additional work. First, they insisted that the $35 figure that they quoted me was for only the part, and not the labor. Second, they denied that my instructions were to "replace the fuel filter." Somehow, they interpreted that as "do what you need to do to make the car run." The irony is that one day earlier, they told me that the car is running fine, and that no work needed to be done. ------- I understand that the shop needs a stream of income to keep the lights on, but this is not the way to obtain it. These people--if you accept the overstatement--make me sick. read more

They are horrible!! I got into an accident and once my car was released from the tow truck, they just left me in the cold at night time. No on asked me to come inside and nothing else was said until my ride came to get me. Then I called the few days later and they tell me that my bill is over $600. I'm was livid because no one gave me a breakdown of the charges or anything. They were very rude to me on the phone and did not care about me not being notified. I would never use them in a million years. I will definitely share this will all my friends so they won't use them. They should really be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of my age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

This place is awful. We have AAA and my sons car broke down right in Armonk. He talked to them about towing the car 5 miles to my brother in law and they told him $150. My son told them we have AAA so they said to call AAA to get it towed. In the meantime they tried to convince my son to get it fixed there. Why would we do that when 5 miles away we have family how will fix it for almost nothing?? My son called AAA after work and was told that Armonk Garage would not tow after hours. I questioned AAA about this since their garages are supposed to be a 24 hour emergency service. The rep at AAA said that yes they are supposed to be 24 hour service. AAA had to find another station 15 miles away to tow my son 5 miles. He had to wait almost 4 hours for a tow truck. I decided to do a little investigating and called Armonk Garage that night while my son sat there waiting for a tow truck from 15 miles away. Someone answered the phone at Armonk Garage. When I asked if they do 24 hour towing they said yes when I asked if they were available that night they said yes I told him never mind and hung up. I called AAA back and we were in agreement that Armonk Garage refused to tow my son because he didn't want the car worked on there. I consider the way they handled this to be extremely unprofessional and would never give them my business and suggest if you need a AAA tow then don't get stuck in Armonk. If I could give 0 stars I would because they do not warrant even a half star. read more

I previously had taken my car to be serviced at the Armonk Garage since I was hearing a popping noise when turning. I was billed for a right side cv joint and axle replacement in February 2017 (4 months ago). In April 2017 I brought the car back because I started hearing the same popping noise when turning. I was advised to replace my worn tires (which i hesitantly did). The popping noise remained after the tires were replaced. I brought the car back July 7, 2017 because the check engine light came on and to find out what was causing the popping noise when turning. On July 7, 2017 I returned to pick the car up and was told 3 sensors needed replacement and my right side axle needed to be replaced. When I brought up the fact that my car had been brought in February 2017 (4 months prior) and had supposedly had the right side axle already replaced, I was told that they needed to look over the car again and it might be noise caused by worn struts. I dropped the car off the following day July 8, 2017. After waiting 4 hours to hear from the mechanic, I called the shop and was instructed to pick the car up. I was told by the mechanic/manager that they "cleaned up" the axel and the car was "ready to go". Immediately upon driving the car out of the parking lot, the noise continued when turning. On July 10, 2017, I returned to the shop to question why I am still hearing the noise when turning. I spoke to a younger mechanic about the work that had been done to the car over the past two days. As he claimed to be unfamiliar with the car, he asked to take a ride with me to hear the noise i was complaining about. After I had agreed, the young mechanic approached his superior to inform him about the ride he was going to take to help diagnosing the noise. His superior approached me and said that I "better take my car to a honda dealership" and was refusing to work on the car further. After visiting the service shop across the street, the mechanic there confirmed that the right side axle needs replacement and had actually never been replaced. The right side axle is the original from when the car was bought new. Although very convenient for me, this service/mechanic shop is running scams on people. To bill for an axle replacement and not perform the work properly or to not install the parts is a crime (theft) in my eyes. The greater crime is the threat which is posed to myself and other innocent people who might have been injured or killed because this shop wanted to scam money, was too lazy to perform the work, or a combination of both. Worn axles pose a severe risk to those who drive that certain automobile and the other people who travel on the same roads. If the axle snaps, the driver loses complete control of the vehicle, rendering themselves and others nearby helpless to an uncontrolled 2 ton vehicle that could be traveling speeds up to 70mph. Do yourself and the public a favor, bring your car somewhere else, they are overpriced as it is, but to find out they are running scams on people and putting people's lives at risk is a sin. These guys should be shut down by the BBB.My truck was stuck on Route 22 one morning,and the Armonk Garage had dispatched a tow,I was charged $150.00 to tow my truck about a block away. I was told that I had blown the engine.And they would gladly replace it starting at $2500.00,not including labor.Naturally I refused and asked how much it would cost to have it towed to neighborhood gas station so I can get a second opinion,and was quoted $250.00 for a 22 mile tow,I refused again and called my guy in New Rochelle,and was quoted $145.00.An offer I could not refuse.Upon inspection fron my guy,I was told I needed a new water pump,and manifold gasket,and a new belt(.NO BLOWN ENGINE.) for a grand total of $1000.00 that included the towing.Either they dont know JACK about cars,or I was their next sucker.Im still driving my 2002 Chevy Blazer with over 180,000 miles,and loving it.I wont even buy gas at this place. read more
