Was just referred to this office days ago. I'm relatively new to the area and while speaking with my neighbors last week, I mentioned I needed to see a dentist. Well the Mrs. didn't hesitate to tell me, 'I have the best ever, and the staff is awesome!' Me: 'Okay then ... She helped me navigate my Dental insurance and explain the procedures and costs with breakdowns and visuals. Hilda was patient with me as I am scared if the Dentist. I have been going to this dentist for many years, and they are one of the best dental practices in Simi Valley. From their office staff to their dentist assistants, hygienists, and Dr. Aghakhani himself, they are all amazing in their own respects. I recently started my Invisalign treatment at this office, and my experience has only been great. The staff is extremely accommodating, understanding, and knowledgeable. I am ok with dr,but i got pissed off from front desk with unprofessional and poor service for patients specially Nancy which she is looks like there for fight with patients instead of helping to solve issues.i had insurance codes issues which in dr office they create in house code that insurance couldnt find it.and after talk to my insurance and got approval from insurance i walked in to office and start asking questions about the issues,suddenly got answer from nancy which made me shock with the way of talking to me as a patient,so sorry for DR to loose the patients because of her. read more

I had bounced from dentist to dentist for years before arriving at Dr. Aghakhani's office. I was immediately impressed with his office staff and the facility. Dr. Aghakhani was very knowledgeable and understanding. He did a complete analysis of the state of affairs in my mouth and outlined a two year plan to undo much of the bad or old dental work I had done in the past. It is all pretty much done now and I am very satisfied with the work. It included several root canals, with crowns, and replacing some old amalgam fillings with porcelain fillings. I now have a pretty sweet looking grill, with no sensitivities, which I hope to keep for the rest of my life. Dr. Aghakhani has a good dentist-chairside manner and the hands of a surgeon, but hey, he is still a dentist, which puts him one step above a lawyer in my book (in terms people I least like to see in a professional setting), and for that alone, it warrants -1 star. Listen, if you want to be a top-shelf Yelper, you have to have a good set of choppers to get the job done. I've got those choppers now. When and if I ever make it to "Elite" status, it will be on account of the fine work Dr. Aghakhani has done for me. read more

Update on my previous review. I was eating salmon at dinner and my crown that Dr. Ahakani did a little more than 3yrs ago fell out. Not only am I in pain but it's obvious after talking to both sides of my family that THIS just doesnt happen.....Dr. Aghakani is a hack job! Fillings fell out in the past but I chalked that up to them being small and hard to place, but the ENTIRE top half of my tooth????!!!!! Choose ANY dentist but this one! read more

Stay away from this office. I rarely take the time to write reviews. But this dentist's office will do procedures on your teeth that are expensive and unnecessary. He gave me 4 crowns when I MAYBE needed 1 crown to fix a grinding issue. Please save yourself an expensive headache and just find another dentist. I started taking my family to Dr. Aghakhani last year after finding him on another review site. My husband had to have extensive work done and Dr. Aghakhani was very gentle in the procedures performed. The procedures my husband needed were explained to him as well as the cost. There was no pressure to have anything performed until we were financially prepared. Billing was easy and worry-free. My school-aged daughter also had a cosmetic procedure done on her front tooth and it turned out perfect! Dr. Aghakhani and his staff were very kind to my little girl and helped her to feel comfortable about her first visit to the dentist. Her favorite part, of course, was choosing from the treasure box when she was done having her exam. The staff is always welcoming, friendly, professional and courteous! The office is modern, clean and refreshments are available to patients. Appointments are very easy to obtain, and there is rarely ever a wait to be seen. My husband and I had been to many unsatisfactory dentists or dental groups in the past: painful procedures, lectures shaming the patient, outdated/dirty offices, unfriendly dentist or staff, billing issues, etc. So I spent a lot of time researching reviews to find a good dentist, and I am glad that I did. My experience with Dr. Aghakhani and his staff has been wonderful. If you decide to choose Dr. Aghakhani, I hope that you find he and his staff are as good to you as they have been to my family. read more

After Dr. Aghakhani took over for Dr. Southerland I was disappointed by the lack of attention that he gave. Usually a cursory glance after the cleaning with little to no real examination. I stayed mostly for the hygenist who was one of the best I have ever had. Hygenist has now retired and after the last examination my daughter had, where I knew she had three cavities and he and the new hygenist MISSED ALL THREE! She had to point them out to him before he notieced! I am now in the job of looking for a new dentist. read more

But i was in desperate need & called & spoke to on call dentist on a Sunday Easter Sunday that is he advised what to do until the office opened the following day i was given a prompt appt, Shannon the receptionist was very sweet and helpful. I was sent to see a oral surgeon right away. Which didnt work out do as soon as i called & spoke to the staff they accommodate me with another local surgeon locally. Some of the Staff has changed again, but everyone is super friendly, helpful and are great with their patients. Dr. Aghakhani has always taken the extra time to see how everything is with me. He is an excellent dentist and very gentle. The work he has done on me has been as little as a cavity filling to a Root Canal including Crowns, to a perfect Implant. At first this dentist was up to par when he took over for Dr. Sutherland. But I agree with the former reviewer. The dental hygienist, Diane, who I also stayed for and was so excellent has since retired. Although I had a good one the last couple of times I, too, found Dr. Aghakhani to not be as attentive or understanding as he had been when he first started. Still a nice office and nice staff (although they, too, did not understand my needs about my reaction to antibiotics that I needed during cleanings completely after cancer surgery like it went right over their heads). The fact that they missed THREE cavities on the former reviewers daughter? Not good. I will be going elsewhere now. Too bad as I did find him to be a nice dentist and pretty good at what he does. Perhaps he has lost interest or is now overwhelmed. I do know there is a new dentist here, a female one, that my husband likes so please do not base this review on her if you decide to try this location. read more

My family and I have been going to this dental office for years. When Dr. Aghakhani took over the practice, the rest of my family switched dentists because they did not enjoy Dr. Aghakani's bedside manner, but I stayed at this office. Unfortunately, my experience in this office with Dr. Aghakani and his staff has been very poor. There is a major lack of courtesy and communication in this office. A procedures was preformed by Dr. Aghakani that I was never told would be associated with a cost, there was no estimate given to me (as the office staff usually does) and I was not even in the office to see him, I was there seeing the hygienist when he stepped in. The office staff has not been helpful with explaining any of the information, nor with helping to resolve it. Beware of what charges this office is sneaking into your bill. read more

Blanca and Christine are awesome, they make the visits pleasant. Both the dentists are excellent. The cleaning was easy so I was not filleted. It was finally nice to hear that my "teeth were in pretty good shape" for not having been to a dentist in 2 years. The best part of the experience was that there was no pressure on up selling. They asked what I wanted, they handled that and told me what I had to get done (cavities). I'm sending this message out to let people no that it's so hard to find a good dentist trust me.my family and i all have bad teeth so have gone to several dentist and I have to say you get what you pay for .and with teeth that's something that you want to get fixed right the first time .so if you need a really good office I would choose Armond aghakhani not only is he a great dentist the staff is very friendly they go every things with you .and throughout my journey i have never had a bad experience with them and I had a year of work done that's how bad my teeth were almost all fixed and now my son has same issues and I didn't think twice to bring him in they got him right in and now going over the best way to handle the problems.
