I'm so grateful he didn't just do the basic physical that most doctors would have done and just assigned me some strengthening exercises. He got to the heart of the issue. What impresses me most about Dr. Nelson, however, is his bedside manner. He was so kind when I burst into tears and has been patient with me when I have argued (again and again) about what exercises he'd let me do. He knows I'm extremely competitive and is good at harnessing that to help me be the "best healer" I can be and get back to racing as quickly as possible. The whole staff is super kind and courteous. Despite this, they quoted me their cash-pay rate without explaining that the rate billed to insurance would be more than double that amount. I ended up being charged approximately $100 for just 15 minutes of "treatment." Had I been given accurate pricing upfront, I would have made a different financial decision. What disappointed me most was how they handled the situation. I reached out multiple times, explained my concerns, and tried to find a reasonable solution. Instead of acknowledging the misinformation or offering any adjustment, they refused to work with me and passed me off to their billing department, which was equally unhelpful. I felt talked down to, as though I simply didn't understand how insurance works, rather than having my actual concerns addressed. They repeatedly blamed my insurance, but when I contacted my insurance company, I was told that any discount or adjustment was at the clinic's discretion. They had multiple opportunities to make things right but chose not to. Unfortunately, the unexpected costs forced both my daughter and me to discontinue treatment. The treatment itself was just okay, but the lack of transparency, accountability, and willingness to work with patients was by far the most disappointing part. I have no problem paying for healthcare, but I expect honesty and fair communication. This experience left me feeling that money was their first priority and patients were their last. I was literally at the end of my rope after seeing one orthopedist after another who told me to lose weight, I was too young for replacements etc. This left me feeling like doctors just get to pick and choose who they want to help. My neighbor referred me to Dr. Banks for my foot, he referred me to a great new primary, Dr. Zachary Farnworth, who referred me to this miracle worker, Dr. Mangiapani. Not once at our first consult was my age or weight mentioned. We did xrays same day and he said that he knew he only had a half day that day but my knees were going to be the worst he would see that day. He treated me as I was; a human being in excruciating pain heading for a wheelchair and rapidly losing hope for quality of life.. By the end of the visit, surgery was scheduled in two weeks and as nervous as i get about surgery, I felt encouraged with complete faith that this doctor was "the one." I don't think I would have had it in me to go through another rejection...Most importantly he restored my hope .I am 10 weeks out, have a great physical therapist as well, Slower healing because of my weight ? Sure, but I'm definitely not "more miserable" (as one orthopedist stated) WITH the replacement than I was without it. Thank you Dr. Mangiapani. You have saved me in so many ways!

Then this idiot goes right on vacation the day after my surgery to Italy and leaves his office assistant Amia in charge of returning his phone calls. She refused to return calls from me, my home, healthcare staff, and my home healthcare agency director. Went back in for follow ups. Now he wants to do a full knee replacement. Needless to say I'm very concerned about going back to this individual communication seem. Questioning people how would you like it if he did this to your knee? I think you would only want accountability as well. Posters beware. After posting negative feedback will have his goon squad follow you around stalk you.
