I've been wanting to visit this "shopping mall" in Chiado since we first arrived a few weeks ago simply because it was within a short walking distance to our apartment in Bairro-Alto; and, being in fashionable Chiado, I had high-hopes to do some Christmas shopping. We had some time before hitting a few spots and arrived 10-minutes before its 10:00 am opening. We decided to wait and finally check it out. This is a very small mall! The 6th floor "food court" was only an escalator ride up from what we presumed was the first floor (which was a short staircase walk up from the entry doors). It was a very limited, sort of sad-looking food court (granted, nothing was open for business at 10 am)--for a shopping mall, it was just about the smallest food court I've ever seen. Naturally, there was a McDonald's; all the other food store fronts were mainstream and uneventful. For us, it was very disappointing since there was nothing for plant-based eaters. Rather than the mall going upwards, this one goes down--or rather, downhill...! The stores were mainstream and bland, and practically all geared to women. The ubiquitous "Mango" anchored the bottom two levels; a lot of perfumeries and such littered the other levels. There was a "Lego" store; but that was overpriced, too. The other "anchor" store was a two-floor electronics and book store--at least we were interested since it had an Apple section. I think we were out of Armazéns do Chiado in less than 30-minutes. The entire experience was something on the level of, "Seriously???" This place gets 2-stars because of the electronics store (which seemed to be seriously overpriced). Been there, done that...! :P

This is a great place for a quick rest break and reliable internet connection. This shopping center is very centrally located in the heart of Lisbon with plenty of shopping destinations along the same street as well as numerous shops inside of the space. Spread over a couple floors, the space is slightly more dining heavy. There is a small restroom area downstairs that is pretty sad if you're a woman; for men, there is just 2 stalls but it is public and it is free. Free public toilets tend to be harder to find in European cities. There's a decent but limited, due to space (the building is not very large), amount of seating upstairs in the food court. Do be polite and not take up seats when you're not actually dining especially on busy afternoons.

We rode the 24E trolley from Calçada da Gloria (just above our apartment), and it was an enjoyable and relatively quick ride to the Mall. (We passed by it once before on a return bus ride from an out of town jaunt, so I was familiar with how it looked; although, I had no idea how close it was--although, in Lisbon, pretty much everything is relatively close.) Anyway, the Mall itself looks humongous from the outside, bookend-ed by a couple of tall glass towers. Inside, is a sprawling maze of enclosed walkways and storefronts. Its stores are no different from any mid-end/high-end shopping mall you'd see back in the States, including the obligatory supermarket (My Auchon is this one's big market; a boutique Celeiro also sits nearby). Naturally, we stopped into the supermarket to check-out their plant-based goods, which turned out to be very decent with prices much better another huge mall we usually go to that's on the Metro's Linha Azul. The Mall's food court is huge and a bit daunting in finding specific eateries (if you've never been to that food court before)--everything's not laid-out in one open arena, but in various aisles and nooks-and-crannies. That said, it was interesting to see the variety of eateries available for all different tastes. Other than that, all the stores are sleek and expensive-looking--not as high-end as El Corte, though. And, too, like any mega-mall, this one has a multi-screen movie house showing the latest Hollywood junk. (Lol!!!) We've only got another week left in our 6-week Lisbon stay, so we'll definitely be back to the mall to shop My Auchon for food staples. And, too, the vegan burger joint was pretty tasty, so we'll pop in there for some junk food...! I'm pretty cool with Amoreiras Shopping Mall...!! :D

Regular stores, Regular prices (not really, see below), but kinda felt like u could meet an incubus at any moment. Very hard to describe. Go there for the spooky experience...entrance is free!!

Perhaps the most beautiful mall I've ever experienced! It also serves as an art gallery and houses a gin themed cocktail bar! I was super disappointed I could not find any unique jewelry to purchase here- they had a jewelry store but I wanted something more unique and Portuguese looking than the pieces offered. My fiancé, however, found a cool Picasso style tee shirt designed in Portugal in one of the men's shops. They also had gorgeous suede baseball caps that I could not convince him to buy but considered purchasing for myself. Service in almost every store was personalized and friendly. The highlight though is the super cool decor of this old palace. Beautiful art too! Enjoy! A bit pricey but worth it for the experience. The shirt was over 40€. Jewelry was around 100€.

As we were traveling, we picked up a couple of neat little books on the 500 hidden secrets in both Lisbon and Porto. We also scored some jewelry , cologne and perfume. There is a little gin bar here, but unfortunately we were unable to check it out on this visit. I highly, highly recommend having lunch or dinner at Atalho Real, located on the bottom level. It's a little tricky to find, but ABSOLUTELY worth it! Some of the best food I've ever had. Enjoy!

Colégio Militar/Luz Metro Station has an entrance pretty much right outside if you're visiting on public transport. The look/feel of the mall is very interesting - it has parts that show a little need for TLC, while other parts are modern or showcasing the stunning traditional Portuguese architecture, I did find the layout of the mall to make it quite difficult to navigate overall though. There was a giant Christmas tree in the central area of the mall, right in front of Nespresso which was a festive touch as I visited in December. It is home to the largest Primark in Portugal. Other international brands located here include Adidas, BOSS Menswear, Foot Locker, Nespresso and many others. There is also a supermarket (Continente) and a blast from the past, as there's a bricks-and-mortar Toys "R" Us store here, a brand which vanished back home in the UK many years ago. For food and drink, there are a couple of options for fast food including Burger King and McDonald's, but there aren't many options for coffee. I was surprised to see Starbucks absent from the mall. One of the coolest things about the mall for me is that most of the stores are open until midnight. A mall like this would likely close around 8-9 PM back home in the UK, so for a night owl like myself this is awesome! Although, this is traditional in Lisbon as a whole. 4* - The best place to shop in Lisbon, not without its flaws but certainly worth a visit on a rare rainy day in the city or if you have to pick up something while visiting the Portuguese capital.

Wow. Amongst the things I didn't even know that I was pining away for, add an 8-story+ department store that is everything to everyone. We entered in a very high-end part of the store featuring all the luxury brands one knows then descended to a food court and movie theaters. From there, I moved on to explore the amazing lower-level supermarket before leaving there and strolling into the beauty/pharmacy department filled with products that both are and aren't available in the US. I took the escalator up, eyeballing what each floor held before disembarking at a floor featuring home furnishings, electronics, housewares, and Christmas decor then got together with my friends for a drink at a wine bar on the top floor.
