This is the best place in the Valley for pizza. The sauce isn't overly spiced. The flavors mix perfectly. The dough is hand tossed and always crispy. The Charleroi location is the absolute best. I have to start off by saying this is a good pie. We had the classic red top. We were excited to try this style of pizza. Everything about it was good. The sauce was good. The cheese was chewy and had some good snap. The crust was good. If you want a good pizza this is the place. But if you noticed, I said good several times. There is nothing special about this pie. This is the best tasting pizza in the Mon Valley, but I think some are confused. Armando's has two locations. The Charleroi location is the original, but the service kinda sucks. They know their pizza is great and they are a bit arrogant/short with customers. The Monessen location tastes the same, but the service is a bit better. Please order the red top if you have never eaten at Armando's. The Charleroi location always has wedding soup, but Monessen does not. The service overall keeps them from attaining five stars. OMG! How I miss living just a block from this pizza joint. They are a legend in Charleroi for sure. The sauce is so good. The red top pizza is a must-have. It's a ton of cheese and pepperoni jam packed in two layers of pizza dough. And then of course topped with that yummy red sauce. Seriously so good. I also love the pizza burrito aka the Pizz-A-Rito. Sauce, cheese and pepperoni in a tortilla shell. They bake it just right so the tortilla is crunchy and not burnt. read more

The pizza was cold and undercooked when we got it delivered and when we called them to because we wanted a refund for the cold food, it was an argument. I'm updating after having a message delivered about my "big city prissy" standards and some additional thoughts on the matter. Big city, small city, run down remnants of an old coal town on the Mon, it doesn't matter. Having someone who resembles Booger from revenged the nerds make your food is gross. It did turn me off the place entirely and I haven't been back even though I regularly visit a nice brewery down the street quite often. I'll repeat for anyone out there wondering. The food staff is unkempt, sickly looking and doesn't practice basic hygiene. The place was good at one point but it is hard to get good workers nowadays. Hell, they could put up a wall between the register and the ovens and hide a few of the bearded, face touching, walking health code violations from public sight and this would never happen. read more

Pros: They're quick and efficient. - I can order a pizza and it'll be ready in 15 and it's super close to home so the convenience is a draw. Cons: The food isn't fantastic. - Honestly, when we moved to the area, people raved about this place, but I've never been impressed. The pizza is bland and has no flavor. Last trip, ordered, they gave the pizza to someone else. Ok, no prob, they put in another, hesitantly, 20 min later, The remake was close, but they forgot the Pepperoni. Kind of an essential part of a Pepperoni Pizza. Didn't realize this till making it home. Called and told the person the situation, was handed to the manager who didn't believe they made the mistake and wanted me to come back out with the remake to prove it to get another remake, NO CREDIT was offered, or given. My only real concern with this place is the people hanging out on the back porch who don't seem to wash their dirty hands when they come back in before going back to work. I am a long haul trucker and I was laying over in order to make a delivery the next day. I called and ordered dinner the young lady that took my order was helpful and friendly. They delivered earlier than promised. The young lady that delivered was also friendly and very polite. Prices where reasonable and the food was hot and delicious. I don't think their pizza is quite as good as Double M's, but Armando's does do pizza pretty well, in my opinion. I always get pepperoni pizza and it's usually well done. Not a super greasy pizza and they gave a little cup of garlic butter for your crusts, which I appreciate. I'm not big on the wings they have here though, so that could use some improvement. Nastiest pizza I ever had. Dough is chewy and underdone, and when you bite into it, the cheese pulls all the toppings off. Far too much sauce. Sauce is authentic tasting, but is much more suitable for pasta. They are the only sandwich shop in Charleroi who actually seasons their steak sandwiches -- at least most of the time. That's a plus. They don't salt their fries. Minus. Italian sandwich meat is thick and smells like a sweaty fat guy, but the ham sandwich is good. The salads are the highlight, all but the taco salad, which the beans have no flavor. Steak supreme is their crowning glory, very nice. They got stingy with salads and started cutting the grape tomatoes and olives up to the point that you can't taste them. Huge disappointment. Dressings are good, but need a bigger variety. Sometimes spaghetti is watery, but they have the best meatballs. A touch of fresh garlic would make them even better. The burritos used to be better years ago, but they got a little dry. I ordered hoagies. The clerk said it would be an hour. It got here an hour and forty minutes later after I called at one hour twenty minutes, and asked what was the status of the order was. It was cold, the bun was barely toasted and mushy. The whole thing tasted like a bologna sandwich, only a couple slices of salami, with wilted lettuce, and a bun that was mush.
