This studio focuses on proper technique to avoid injury and create beautiful dancers. The spring recital is the cherry on top. Instead of watching a million individual dances by class level, NWBA puts on an actual ballet. The costumes, sets and lighting is top notch. My kids love feeling part of a show and dancing with other levels. They get a taste of what a professional ballet dancer gets to do. For family and friends in the audience following a ballet story is way more enjoyable than a traditional recital.

I came here for a few months in 2021 before realizing it wasn't the space for me. I'm sure it works for some people, but I wasn't one of them. The slower, less intense classes fill up and the hot yoga classes were nice but often too fast paced for me without any talk of adjustments for different bodies or abilities. So of course she loves to....Just Dance!…read more Every now and then I'll accompany my niece, Madelyn to her weekly Saturday morning dance class lasting about 45 minutes. About three teachers, eager teenage girls, lead this class of 3-4 year olds in basic but most importantly fun dance exercises. Teachers here are patient and truly take the time to make sure the kids are learning the proper forms while making it fun at the same time. My favorite part is to see my niece holding on to the bar bending into a plie with her frilly pink tutu. Parents are able to see their little ballerinas in action through a one sided mirror that looks in the dance studio. I definitely suggest arriving at least 5-10 minutes early so you get a good seat on the "viewing bench." Parents are typically not allowed into the class, but I've seen exceptions made for children with severe separation anxiety. As a parent, or even an aunt, it's easy to forget to bring this that or the other to class. Thankfully, both ballet and tap shoes are available at their gift shop for rental free of charge to children enrolled in classes. I cannot wait to attend the recital at the end of the class!

I initially wanted to sign up for an aerial yoga class, but was prompted to take a "beginner" pole…read moreclass instead because it started sooner. It turned out the class was a Beginner II rather than an intro, and the instructor was more of a demonstrator than a teacher. Despite struggling, I still enjoyed the class enough to sign up for a second session. That session was oversold, as the only pole available had a huge floor flaw that was TAPED over. Over the course of the class, the tape and adhesive became tackier and eventually ruined the shoes I was wearing for the first time. This resulted in my shoes literally sticking to the floor, so I couldn't complete a move and ended up painfully smashing my knees against the edge of the pole base, resulting in bruises on both. Despite being oversold and unsafe, the studio refuses to refund my session fee. I had two credits from signing up for the first session, and I asked for a refund after the 2nd class of the 2nd session. I should have my entire fee refunded, but they took two weeks to write me back and let me know that because the semi-present instructor didn't know I was in pain, they are going to KEEP MY MONEY?!?! The instructor saw me trying to remove the tape and goo from my shoes, but they are literally going to try to weasel out of being accountable with this. They should refund me for my session, replace my shoes, and acknowledge that their studio is UNSAFE, their classes are oversold, and their practices are shady. Really disgusted by the entire experience, it's a shameful way to run a business, and the lack of concern and support is negligent and irresponsible.

We were so glad to find Michael. We took five lessons with him in preparation of our first dance. He put us at ease, was clear in what he was teaching, honest with criticisms (but nice about it!), and when we weren't dancing just a really down-to-earth, funny guy. We always looked forward to our lessons. He was also so easy to communicate with about setting times for our lessons. I got them as a gift for Valentine's Day and he even created custom 'coupons' I could give to my wife. When the big day came, we were confident and ready for our dance. We got a lot of compliments on our skills (all my family and friends who know me well were pretty surprised). We learned so much! Lincolnshire Academy of Dance (LAD) is the best studio ever. The instructors teach excellent…read moretechnique in all styles of dance, are extremely experienced, and many of them still perform, choreograph, or direct in the industry. LAD's environment is positive and loving, and all of the instructors are personally interested in the physical and emotional well-being of all dancers, as if they are their own kids. My daughter took dance lessons for 15 years. When it came time to switch studios halfway through her career, she considered four other studios. Some taught good technique but the environment was toxic, or there was not enough focus on technique and too much focus on competitions, or they made you choose between the studio or high school activities rather than allowing both, or the dress code was not professional in the studio and on stage. Only LAD was highly recommended by one of my daughter's directors at the time. We read all of the LAD instructor bios to learn about the depth and breadth of their experience, attended a recital, and my daughter took a summer class. She was sold, switched to LAD year round, and traveled an hour roundtrip to get to/from the studio for many years. LAD was life-changing for my daughter. She found her passion and the joy of dance, thrived in a positive environment, and also made amazing memories and friendships that she'll cherish forever.

And they both not good at all. They sent email says the 4:40 pre ballet doesn't have enough students and ask if we are willing to move to the 5:30 class. I told them 5:30 doesn't work for me , just give me the Oct refund. They said no, policy says no refund after the 15th notice. But the 5:30 doesn't work for me! When I registered the class was 4:40, and guess what! I pick up my daughter today went to the class today, there was no class! They moved to 5:30 without my consent!
