Love this Pediatrics Doctors Office. My daughter has been going here for a year and I have nothing but great things to say. All of the Doctors and staff are super knowledgeable and very professional. I feel like my child's health is their top priority and that they really listen and take my perspective as a mom into consideration. The office is very clean and the staff are all so friendly when you walk in. They have a sick and well side for the waiting room which I like a lot. The Best part is that I have never waited for more than 10 minutes to be called in. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new pediatrician. Took my child here to see Dr Jackie Schwarz for his first appointment after birth. Would not return under any circumstances; I trust google and my own judgment significantly more than I trust this office. I brought my child in on a Tuesday for a regular visit; I also brought in a diaper due to a reddish hue in his urine; it appeared almost bloody. My husband and I expressed our concerns about this to Dr Schwarz and she brushed it off, assumingly because we're "paranoid first parents" hardly even looking at the diaper. Long story short, we ended up in th ER early Wednesday morning; our child had Hemmorhagic Disease. With blood in his urine... Our child almost died. 7 days and $127,000 later, he's a healthy baby boy. Had this doctor not brushed off our concerns maybe we could have skipped the ER visit; or at least the near death aspect of the visit. read more

Been with this practice for 4 years. I'm a fan but looking to switch pediatricians because lately, scheduling an appointment takes 2 months. + Great doctors. We like all the doctors here especially Dr. Santiago & Dr. Kalcheim. We also liked Dr. Scott but she left the practice a year or two ago. + Front office staff and nurses are friendly. + Appropriate amount of time waiting for the doctor. We never waited too long to see our doctor. + Office is clean. They have a "sick area" and "well area" in which to wait. + Pharmacy in the office. Very convenient. + Lactation consultants also available for new moms + Office hours are convenient for working parents. Monday 8:30 am - 8:00 pm Tuesday 8:30 am - 8:00 pm Wednesday 8:30 am - 8:00 pm Thursday 8:30 am - 8:00 pm Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Saturday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Sunday 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Sick Appointments Only + Office is colorful/kid-friendly with story books that kids can peruse while waiting for their appointment. -Biggest gripe and reason why we are looking to leave: 2 months wait time for next appointment. It did not use to be that long. I am not sure if they are getting an influx of new patients or it is because of the school year starting. We tried to schedule in June and got an August appointment. We scheduled for our next appointment and it is in October. I called another pediatric office and they were able to take us in 2 weeks. Otherwise, we like this practice and its doctors. read more

We love APL. We have three kids aged 5 and under so you can imagine how many visits I have had over the last 5 years. :) The entire staff, from reception to the nurses and docs truly put our children's health first. With 3 young kids, we've had to use their on-call services, we've called them at the 11th hour for ears or fevers or falls and they've always taken great care of our kids--even in emergency situations on Sundays. The nurses are incredible. They are very patient and helpful for determining whether a fever or a rash needs an appointment or can be managed at home. Bottom line? We all feel well cared for. I honestly could not recommend APL more. read more

I'll start with...we should have read all the reviews before coming to this practice. We had a very poor experience here and that is an understatement. From our experience, Arlington Pediatric does not take parent concerns seriously. Doctors are supposed to guide you and help you make appropriate decisions for your children. We could mention the names of specific doctors at this practice who lack in providing parents information so that parents can make decisions for their children, but we will leave it at that. There aren't many doctors here so that should give you an idea. Our understanding is that years ago, Arlington Pediatrics used to be different in a positive way. It has changed. At a certain point, it seemed like they couldn't keep doctors. If you have not had any issues here, consider yourself lucky. Really mean that. Our experience was very poor. Horrible! Horrible! We moved over to this practice due to the extended hours. They are so accomodating! Whenever I call with a sick child, we are always given a same day appointment. They call to check up on us after sick visits, too. Their "flu clinic" was so quick. Both of my kids had shots within 7 minutes of arrival. We are so happy here! read more

We started out having a good experience at this doctor's office. There have been several new doctors at this practice. It seems not be like when Dr. Brottman was practicing as I've heard from others. Unfortunately, regardless of older or newer doctors, our experience was mixed. As parents, we would have appreciated more guidance in treating and caring for our children without getting into all the details. We will say, Dr. Schwartz is very thorough and we have had great service from her. She is kind and gives attention to your child. She has been there for some time. Dr. Patel has been attentive as well for someone that doesn't have as much experience. I think it depends who you see and if you feel comfortable with the doctors, which as a parent you should. Not all docs have the best bedside manner, which we can deal with if our children are taken care of. read more

We've seen most of the physicians in this practice over the last six years. I've consistently had good experiences, from supporting my newborn, lactation consulting, helping refer us to specialists (my child has a complex medical history), and now providing regular checkups, this is an excellent practice. I've never waited for appointments (we've had many last minute ones), and always receive call backs after hours from the in-call physician (again, many of these, too). The office staff, nurses, and physicians are some of the best in the area. Highly, highly recommended. read more

We were referred to this office from family and put all our trust in the pediatricians which I've learned trust no one, especially when it comes to your children. This office claims that it treats your children like their own...not true! We are dealing with a health issue with our child that should have/could have been prevented and we don't know the consequence of this in the long run. It makes me sad to think about how I trusted them. Really let down. Please read the not recommended reviews. You will see that there is another example of how another child was not cared for properly. Very sad and disappointing! read more

Love this place!! The front desk staff is super nice. The nurses are attentive and the doctors are personable. Everything about this place makes me super comfortable having my son come here for visits. The doctors are prompt with returning after hour calls, the nurses are helpful as well when I call. This practice has great hours for busy families, in general we have liked the doctors although there has been a lot of change in the physician staff the past five years. If you're looking for one or two doctors to be with you from infancy to graduation for your child, I don't know if that would happen here. Or maybe it's just been an odd few years. One reviewer on here referred to a Dr. Turner, in the years we've been at this practice there hasn't been a Dr. Turner, so I think reviewer might be confused with another practice in Arl. Heights. This practice does tend to refer to speciality pretty quickly, but if you want to be able to get in quickly or get ahold of a doctor in the middle of the night for acute illness, I think they are a good practice. read more

I'm not sure I would have survived my daughter's first year without this practice. They were quick to help and guide when she had health issues. Their recommendations for her reflux and milk-protein intolerance are the only things that got us through that year. The front desk staff is always friendly and with a ready smile. My children are 12 & 10. Dr. Brottman has been taking care of my kids since they were 2 & a newborn. My son was also born premature and has had several health challenges over the years. I can not say enough wonderful things about this practice. In my experience, Dr. Brottman, as well as the other physicians, have taken wonderful care of my kids. They always address all of my concerns, they have never ever made me feel rushed (in 10 years!). They always have squeezed us in on the same day when my kids were sick, and are always available to answer concerns or questions by phone. Something else that I find so unique to this practice is that the Drs. call and check up on the children if they have been in the hospital or had a procedure. For example, when my son has been in the hospital and then been released, Dr. Brottman will call me the next few days after he comes home to check in. Another time when my son had a procedure done by a surgeon, Dr. Brottman STILL called to check and see how he was. I used to work in pharmaceutical sales before becoming a teacher. So, when I worked in that field I spent a great deal of time at different Drs. offices. I never called on pediatrics, but I called on many other specialties. I can honestly say that this office is also one of the best run practices I have ever encountered. They tend to run on time, which is amazing because they always squeeze in sick patients. But I think they keep a Dr. staffed just for seeing triage patients. I have had to wait now and then when getting squeezed in, but never for very long. I have always really appreciated that they see the value in my time as well as theirs. Lastly, now that my kids are getting older, I love that they also focus on slowly shifting the discussion to really include my children. They ask THEM questions and really work to increase the kid's independence and partner with them on their health. The practice also holds many different monthly seminars on everything from breast feeding support, to parenting skills, to talking to your kids about drugs and alcohol. This practice truly supports parents of kids from newborns all the way through the teen years. Sorry this review is so long, but I honestly can not say enough good things about this practice. My daughter was a former patient at this practice and I believed we still were. In anticipation of a move, I requested a copy of my daughter's record six weeks ago. We have not relocated yet. I called today for a consultation and to make an appointment for my sick child and was informed, in a snippy fashion, that we terminated our relationship by requesting a copy of her records. Really?! News to me. Wonder why I continuously receive their e-mail messages? Maybe this is in part sour grapes but I have been unsatisfied with the staff at this practice for some time. In fall when I was quite certain my daughter had an repeat incident with lice after OTC treatment (saw a live bug and many nits), I called the practice to request a sick child appointment and provided my observations and past treatment so that we could be seen and hopefully obtain the prescription medicine now known to effectively treat and kill the new, resistant strain of lice permeating our state. They were not able to assist me and re-directed me to 3 child dermatologists . When called, and as anticipated, the first appointments were 4-8 weeks out with all three. As such, we went to CVS minute clinic, were seen and given the appropriate treatment that day. Boom. No more lice since fall. I have left both incidents (both times when I really needed help) feeling that this practice DOES NOT CARE about the children with whom they have a relationship. Very unconcerned. we started going to arlington pediatrics right after my daughter was born. initially everything was fine, regular check ups were rather short, all doctors always seemed in a hurry. based on my observation they see a lot of kids, and dr usually does not spend more than 5 minutes with a child. when my daughter turned 6 months we started introducing water, and she always seemed to be very thirsty almost obsessed with water. at the same time her diapers were always soaking wet. I mentioned my concerns to the dr, however they were assessed as normal and nothing of concern. i was upset that dr did not ask any follow up questions, (it is hard to find time to do so during a 5 minute visit). during next six months those symptoms only increased and at the same my daughter started eating less and not gaining weight. againg when i raised my concerns they were rebuffed. finally a month later my daughter was getting really tired, passive, and not her selft, we immediately took her to arlington pediatrics for assesment, at that time she lost weight and was miserable. after another 5 minute assesment dr recommended that we put her on pediasure and limit her water intake. couple days later she was feeling worse, so again we took her to arlington pediatrics and again they did not find anything wrong with her, when i asked about blood test i received an answer that they were not necessary. seeing that my daughter is seriously sick i took her to er where after a quick blood and urin tests she was diagnosed with diabetes insipitus and severe dehydration and immediately transferred to the ic unit at children's hospital. she spend next 12 days there. every dr at children's could believe that nobody at arlington pediatrics diagnosed her properly. will never go back there again, and if you care about your child and want some attention please stay away from arlington pediatrics! read more
