We've been working with Miguel for a couple of months now, including a 2-week board-and-train program, and the results have been amazing. Our 7 months Bernedoodle has transformed into a confident, well-behaved pup. After the two-week boarding training, the improvements were immediate. She stopped biting hands and ankles, stays focused during walks despite other people or dogs, not picky with her food, and listens to commands. She's now calmer, and much easier to live with. Miguel is truly a lifesaver for us. His training approach is effective, patient, and clearly tailored to the dog. We're incredibly grateful for his dedication and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for real, lasting results with their dog.

Miguel is excellent to work with and is knowledgeable in dog training! I reached out to Miguel via Zoom call and spoke about the history of my dog, Maple, his training, and his household history. I signed up with Miguel for 1-on-1 sessions, and I am so happy that I did. I've learned how to have Maple place, not run out of the house, reduce leash pulling, and reduce Maple's reactivity within the span of 7 months since I started training with Miguel. The weekend group classes help reinforce the training as well. Miguel is very easy to work with, and really explains the methodology of how/why we reinforce the dog. I would definitely reach out to Miguel if you're serious about training your pup!

Our 3 year old mini labradoodle Rocky was showing increasing reactivity towards other dogs while on leash so we decided to sign him up for Miguel's 1 week board and train program. When Rocky came back we could definitely see a huge difference! He has much better leash manners with the "heel" command, and walks with more confidence. A huge difference compared to in the past when he would always be on high alert looking for dogs to bark at. He's also learned the added commands of place, wait, down, and the "break" command. The group classes have been a great way to keep up to date with training Rocky and working on new skills every week! Rocky still has some ways to go but we thank Miguel for putting him on the right track and helping us be able to go on long walks with other dogs around and no lunging/barking :)

I am so thankful to have found Miguel! My rescue dog, Saylor, was extremely reactive on leash and would lose her mind at 100% of the dogs we'd pass outside on walks. It was a frustrating experience for both her and I, and my dreams of taking her places started to diminish after a year of trial and error, experimenting with every dog training technique I could find on YouTube. After the first two sessions with Miguel, I saw unbelievable progress in Saylor's reactivity. We started completing long walks with zero barking and she soon became unphased by other dogs. In addition to that, her overall demeanor became so much calmer, her responsiveness to commands improved, and she started looking at me more frequently for guidance. Saylor is now loose leash walking, visiting outdoor restaurants, and we're living a fuller life together. Miguel is a wonderful trainer who truly understands dogs - it's clear that he loves what he does and loves to celebrate the success of his clients. He is a patient teacher and explains dog behavior in a way that's relatable to humans. The entire process with ArKane 9 exceeded my expectations and was 100% worth the investment for me and my pup!

MIGUEL. IS. AWESOME. He truly loves dogs and his program is well thought out and structured. The difference in our puppy (sakura) has been amazing over just 2 weeks. She was extremely nervous, barking at anything and everything. Today in our last day of the program we did a walk in a busy shopping center. She has so much confidence, wasn't bothered by other dogs, loud noises or all kinds of people walking around...and she was very obedient. He also makes sure to train the owners so they understand the process and how to make sure the training sticks. Miguel has 2 lovely dogs that he uses as part of the program to socialize his students. I absolutely love his little one, named boy. If you are considering getting training for your dog, THIS IS THE TRAINER TO USE

Well Trainer Pups

Miguel is hands down the best trainer around! Not only does he have compassion for the dogs, but he truly understands what they need to become the best companions. There is no fluff in his training methods, and that has really sped up my dogs learning and obedience. Just so happens he can train owners just as well as dogs too! As a first time dog owner I was absolutely lost with all of this. But with Miguel's patience and my constant questions he has given me the tools to continue his methods of training. All of this allows me and my dog to have the best relationship you could ask for. To show how much he truly cares for the dogs and owners that he works with, he still does his best to respond to my questions even after I've completed the program. Plus the Saturday pack walks with him offer a great tune up for both dog and owner. P.S. He makes a good Santa Paws for the dogs too!

Walking relaxed!

Magic was found dirty, hungry, thirsty - eyes red. It was July and hot, and she is jet black. No collar, no chip, no one searching for her - she either escaped a horrible situation by slipping out of her collar and jumping a wall or a fence, or she was simply dumped. She had jumped a church yard fence to play with children - smartly surmising they would be kinder to her than adults. The lady who found her couldn't keep her. Her vet told her the dog was five years old and spayed. I was dumb enough to believe it - she did have a scar on her belly. She was neither - she was a year old at best. I have fought for this dog simply because she deserves a lot better. Her behavior was a product of her sordid past, not out of meanness. She never took offense at being corrected for misbehaving - she was just outright confused. She possesses a kind and gentle spirit, love of children and especially babies, and desire to please. However, the issues became exponential - she is powerful, an amazing athlete who jumps like a panther, incredibly smart. and very protective. Besides not being housebroken or even knowing how to live in a house, her separation anxiety was overwhelming. To make matters worse, my neighbors are lax in leashing their dogs, and she was attacked while on leash three times, once requiring stitches. She got in trouble chasing a neighborhood cat out of her yard into a neighbors', and again jumping another 6 foot wall thinking she'd play with the other neighbors' dog. She was getting so much attention (despite most of it being negative) that my other dog started getting jealous, creating a whole new layer of problems. Another dog caused my granddaughter to fall, which infuriated Magic, so now she is defensive to the point of aggressive when she sees other dogs outside. I actually thought I could train her given I trained and showed Dobies and Boxers starting in childhood. But after Magic almost accidentally burned the house down on one occasion, and I broke my nose and a rib on another trying to control her after an encounter with one more clueless neighbors' 3 dogs - I threw up my hands. I found Miguel online (just like you!), and found it difficult to believe he had 29/29 5-star reviews. I had to check him out so called - he listened to my long tale of horrors unfazed. Miguel took Magic for a week, and she returned a different animal. Things weren't perfect, but she had learned a lot and was clearly eager to learn more. Every suggestion Miguel has made to me has worked wonders. He is always available by phone or text. He changed her collar so I could control her better and provided an e-collar. He comes to the house and works with her (and me) as often as needed. My neighbors watch from their windows in awe. As a bonus. my other dog (also a bit of a wild thing) has learned from her everything Miguel has taught her. My house has never been more civilized. I named her Magic, but it is Miguel who is the Magician. He is firm, yet kind, and Magic adores him. His techniques work. For a dog like mine, the Saturday group sessions are invaluable. Aggression is his forte, and, as he puts it, "reprogramming the dog's brain" in a positive way sure beats negativity and frustration. I have learned how to make Magic focus on me and the positives rather than getting worked up about her fears, real or imagined. As a 110 pound grandma, I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to be able to walk two big pit bull mixes for a mile or two daily without chaos and no longer fearing for my life. I still work, and when I arrive home at lunch, they are each lying quietly in their respective crates, doors open, and with everything exactly intact as I had left it. No craziness when you pick up a leash, no running out of doors, no jumping out of cars until instructed to do so. Greatest investment ever.

Butler on pack walk

Butler (our goldendoodle) went to Miguel's one week board and train with a few key goals: leash pulling, reactivity, interacting and socialization with other dogs, refresher on commands (sit, down, stay, place, heel, etc.) He came back a week later with much better doggie manners. Of course he's still a work in progress and there are things we continue to work on. What we especially like is the weekly pack walks which provide us continued learning under Miguel's guidance. Butler has come to know Saturday mornings as pack walk day. His favorite day of the week.

Prince holding a place

Words truly can't explain how thankful I am to have come across ArKane 9 training. I am a first time dog owner and have had Prince since he was 8 weeks old. I always wanted to take him to malls and dog friendly places but he would constantly pull and want to mark everything. He also ran away twice so I lost all trust and had a lot of anxiety just walking him. I decided to have him be trained by Miguel and I am more than happy. Prince has become so obedient, so much calmer, and he gets to enjoy so many new things. He has officially earned back my trust and it brings me to tears. I never thought he would be like this. For anyone looking for a trainer I highly encourage you to go with Miguel. He not only will train your pup but also you to keep it up. I am looking forward to future adventures Prince and I will get to go on all thanks to Miguel!

My family could not thank Miguel enough! What he has done for our pup in just two short weeks will change how we interact with Sam for years to come! We rescued Sam (Black Lab/Hound Mix 50LB) in April of this year, he was 8 months at the time and a little wild but as loving as they come. At first we had basic struggles with him around walking. He would pull us down the street and get overly excited when he saw dogs on a leash...then the excitement turned to aggressive behavior towards dogs on a leash. This became hard to control but we did our best, still unfortunately avoiding training at the time. In July, a family member came to visit and when he came into the house Sam initiated even more aggressive behavior including trying to bite him. When Miguel came to our house on the first day I knew Sam was in amazing hands. Miguel approached training as if it was easy yet made sure I never felt lost during the process. The first day...after 1 hour I could see a difference in Sam. After two weeks it a is night and day difference. Sam waits by the front door to exit the house before leaving, walks in the heal position and responds to his commands during his walks. When he sees other dogs on the streets he is doing an amazing job at ignoring them and continuing his walk. No more pulling, no more aggressive behavior towards dogs on a leash and more importantly Sam seems even more calm and relaxed in the house. Thank you Miguel for all you have done! I can't wait to take Sam to the next level! My family could not thank Miguel enough! What he has done for our pup in just two short weeks will change how we interact with Sam for years to come! Miguel has been an amazing trainer for myself and my 9 month old puppy. My puppy had basic obedience, but I needed help as he would get overly excited with people, other dogs, etc. With the breed he is, I wanted to make sure I stay the leader and he does not push his limits towards me or my daughter. Miguel was very patient with me learning, didn't make me feel like I am not a good trainer and kept encouraging me, great with my puppy, and his dogs were just fantastic. He shows up on time, customizes the training based on the dog's level, handler's level, weather, and such. He is just an amazing trainer and person!! Highly recommend his service.

Mocha at irvine spectrum

Our 8 month old doberman puppy Mocha has been both timid and hyper since we had her at 2 months. Given that her breed is to protect we wanted her to be comfortable with new people and not be so on the defensive, especially around family members. We let Miguel know what her tendencies are and what we would like him to work on with her and what we got back was an upgraded version of our puppy! We couldn't believe it! Before the training, she would constantly pull on our walks, bark at every single person she saw, and couldn't keep attention for more than 5 seconds. We are so happy with the training she got. She knows so many new commands and sticks with them. Miguel elevated her confidence and socialized her, he sent us constant updates and great photos. We appreciate Miguel bringing the best out of our mocha girl. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I'd worked with two trainers, including a 3 week board-and-train program ($5,000 investment), followed every instruction, and practiced daily, yet I didn't see changes. I was managing the behavior without ever understanding what was causing it. That changed within the first two hours with Brad. He didn't start with commands or tools. Instead, he focused on the psychology behind Sunny's reactions: what was driving them, what was reinforcing them, and what I was unknowingly communicating. No one had ever explained it that clearly. That was the turning point. For the first time, I wasn't guessing or correcting blindly. I could see what Sunny was experiencing in real time and understand how my timing, energy, and responses were shaping his behavior. That clarity changed everything. Walks feel completely different now. Sunny is no longer pulls since my training with Brad, the reactive outbursts are gone, and the experience itself is calm. I'm no longer bracing for problems because I know how to prevent them. I am SO appreciative!

A couple of these weren't terribly serious, but we felt we weren't "in charge" anymore, that our dog wasn't getting the message from whatever we were doing, and that if we didn't do something different, it could really get out of control. Brad really helped us with this, where traditional "training" wasn't working. We have two or three things we're working on with our girl, but here is the most dramatic change we had with one issue. She is very food motivated, and would beg from us at the table whenever we sat down to eat, and would be underfoot in the kitchen during prep. She got overly excited and would not settle and lie down. Brad explained we weren't communicating well with her on a dog level, so to get that communication kicked in to gear, he actually started our session not with this problem, but with making sure she would not dash out the front door when it was opened. This was to establish that we were in charge and what was expected of her. What he showed us how to do worked like you wouldn't believe. It was like a light bulb went off for our girl. What we did affected everything after that. It wasn't about dashing out the door, it wasn't about begging for food, it was about knowing what was acceptable in our pack and to look to us for direction. That night, at dinner, she went to her "spot" with a simple direction and was relaxed during our entire meal. She can now be directed to her spot and will stay quietly any time we need her to. Best of all, she seems truly relieved that she doesn't have to be in charge and that WE are. She is much more relaxed around so many other things. It gave us so much more confidence! I didn't think that what Brad taught us would work. It's quite counterintuitive. But trust me, it worked like magic. This is not dog training - it's communication with your dog. Brad answers all your questions, doesn't waste your time, shows you clearly and directly what will work. We're so thankful we found him!

In fact, I saw that you previously posted video footage of our encounter on your Instagram, but you removed it after receiving backlash for those comments. Dave is always available for our questions and follow ups, and he sends over progress notes and photos every day from training sessions. We also would ask him about problem behavior such as counter surfing or jumping up on people to greet, and Dave would target those specific behaviors as well. We also appreciated how fast and quickly they acted on our puppy swallowing something he shouldn't have, and immediately gave him some hydrogen peroxide to get him to throw it up, which saved us from extremely expensive and likely traumatic vet visits and possible surgery.
