It was a walking distant from our hotel and tried this place…read more It was a Mediterranean restaurant but very busy place. Ambiance typical Turkish place with their traditional decor. We ordered their Chicken and rice plate and mixed vegetarian combo. Ordered from the counter and paid . No tips needed. The chicken was good . The rice was so tasty but oily. The garlic cream was an additional cost if you want it. The salad was not so fresh. The chicken was already cooked and they warmed it up. The mixed vegetarian plate was ok. Saw the server picked up the veggies from their food cover with bare hands. No cloves. I wished at least hand gloves for sanitation. There was flies flying around. It's summer. The bread was burned. They run out of taboli and gave us salad instead. Overall , it was ok

Arbil is probably my favorite place to get Doner in Heidelberg. It's in one of you most convenient…read morelocations to get food in the city because it is right next to Bismarckplatz. The prices are reasonable and usually the Doner is really good. I always order Doner at Arbil and I am very rarely disappointed. Sometimes the chicken is rubbery and tasteless but it is usually very good. The beef Doner meat is also very good usually. The staff at Arbil is all very friendly and easy to communicate with even if they don't speak. The restaurant itself has very nice decorations and furniture. I would recommend Arbil to anyone looking for Doner in Heidelberg.

Ignore the slightly odd location, this is one of the best Greek restaurants in Speyer. Service…read morecould have been a bit more attentive, but was certainly friendly and they were very busy. The menu is quite short, and lacks the usual 'teller' options offered in many places where you get a mix of gyros, souvlaki, bifteki etc. They have all those, just not as pick and mix options. Likewise you won't get moussaka or kleftiko here but the same is true for many Greek restaurants in the area. What you will find is a slightly more polished version of standard Greek dishes, cooked very well. The zucchini chips are tempura-like fried slices of courgette and are excellent (you could certainly share a portion between two people). An adjacent table had the polpo starter and it looked very good. For mains, we had the lamb chops (7 pieces, tender and delicious) and the 'Spiess des Hauses' (pork stuffed with feta), which was also delicious. They don't mention it, but there's bread and dip served when you sit down, and the mains come with salad too (and it's better than the equivalent salad in other places). There's a wide range of fish dishes that I'd happily return to try, but I had a had a craving for lamb which was certainly satisfied. It might seem slightly more expensive than some similar places but it's worth it. Another positive is that it doesn't feel as rushed as some Turkish/Greek/Balkan restaurants often are; you can relax with a glass of wine after your meal. We were offered ouzo or an espresso after we asked to pay. In short, it's not your typical 'one in every village' Greek/Balkan restaurant but we felt it was better than the numerous other places in Speyer and look forward to trying it when the weather is better to appreciate the lake-side location.
