This is by FAR the best Greek restaurant in the area! I strongly recommend to make a reservation,…read moreeven if you are only going with 2 persons. They are mostly packed and on more than one occasion (we decided last minute to go) we had to wait to get a table. They are open till 11pm, which we liked a lot, since we often feel like eating out at a later hour. The interior is nothing special, but the hearty welcome the owner gives you and the food they serve makes you forget about the lack of style. In the summertime, you can sit outside. You're sitting more or less on the pavement right by the street, which I don't find so nice. They built a fence around the seating area though, so you get at least a little privacy. They did the most of the location I guess, can't blame them. The menu is not as big as in most other Greek restaurants I know, but it has all typical Greek dishes, and Greek dishes only :) Making changes to your order is usually no problem. The owners are total sweethearts, always friendly and very guest and service orientated. The food is simply amazing!!! The appetizers are great, I mostly chose the grilled pepperoni or stuffed wine leaves. Yummie!! For entrees, they serve all kinds of meats and fish with rice or round shaped fries. I love love love their Rumpsteak with Kraeuterbutter and fries. My mouth is watering just thinking about it lol They always managed to cook it perfectly to my order (medium-well) My husband had tried several different dishes and was never ever disappointed with his choices, whether is was fish or any kind of meat. If you like wine but are not sure about their choices, tell them what you like and they will recommend a suitable one according to your taste. Ask if they let you try their recommendation, usually they do. For dessert, if you're not full yet, I recommend the Crepes...mmmhh I am a huge Hermes Fan and will miss going there for sure. This is one of the few restaurants I insisted on bringing friends, simply because I thought they HAVE to try their food :) Oh, do not mind the background music ;)

My Flammekuchen was wonderful, mi kids both had tomato soup and it was amazing and my husband's hamburger was huge and all the ingredients ere very fresh. I simply love this place!!!…read more They open for breakfast and close at midnight. I have been going there for years, since I just lived around the corner. At the beginning it wasn't really such a great place, but the new owner just turned it all around and it is like THE Spot in the little town of Bad Schoenborn. He is a very nice guy, even recognized me at the local supermarket :) he is mostly working in the background and yet present when it gets busy. Whether you go for breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails, coffee, sundowner...you can't go wrong with anything at the Glashaus! I came here for all of the above lol and everyone I took there loved it as well and went back. The interior is very friendly, the chairs are really comfy. Wooden tables, big brown chairs, a few high tables and chairs that are also really comfy. Outside is nice to sit at, big sun-brellas prevent you and your food to burn up in the sun ;) The place is very popular with all kinds of people. Young, old, locals, tourists, people who meet for coffee, business, breakfast, lunch, dinner or just enjoy their cold drafted beer on their way home from work. Their kitchen is mostly Mediterranian, lots of pasta and pizza dishes. The salads are sooooo good and always served with fresh baked ciabatta bread. They have a daily lunch special and a all day special menu which they change frequently. They also serve cake and ice cream. Check out their Brunch or All-you-can-eat-pasta night as well whenever they have it going on (those days are certainly subject to change so I don't want to give specifics, check the hp for current offers). I can't even give you a recommendation on a specific dish, because everything is usually so delicious! Occasionally, they have bands playing there on a Friday or Saturday night or before a holiday. When stuff like the Soccer World Cup is going on, they let down a screen for public viewing. There is parking on the street and an open parking lot close by. If you go in a group, it is best to make a reservation. Let them know if you would like to sit in- or outside as well. Note that they only accept cash, that's why they lose one point, I find this very inconvenient. A bank w/ATM is just across the street, but still. At least accept EC cards... oh, and there are a few little swing-thingies for smaller children. Even older kids can run around and play. Bring a soccer ball or something, they will be able to stay within sight :) I hope you enjoy this place as much as I did :) Whenever I'll go home to visit, I will definitely go by :)

Ignore the slightly odd location, this is one of the best Greek restaurants in Speyer. Service…read morecould have been a bit more attentive, but was certainly friendly and they were very busy. The menu is quite short, and lacks the usual 'teller' options offered in many places where you get a mix of gyros, souvlaki, bifteki etc. They have all those, just not as pick and mix options. Likewise you won't get moussaka or kleftiko here but the same is true for many Greek restaurants in the area. What you will find is a slightly more polished version of standard Greek dishes, cooked very well. The zucchini chips are tempura-like fried slices of courgette and are excellent (you could certainly share a portion between two people). An adjacent table had the polpo starter and it looked very good. For mains, we had the lamb chops (7 pieces, tender and delicious) and the 'Spiess des Hauses' (pork stuffed with feta), which was also delicious. They don't mention it, but there's bread and dip served when you sit down, and the mains come with salad too (and it's better than the equivalent salad in other places). There's a wide range of fish dishes that I'd happily return to try, but I had a had a craving for lamb which was certainly satisfied. It might seem slightly more expensive than some similar places but it's worth it. Another positive is that it doesn't feel as rushed as some Turkish/Greek/Balkan restaurants often are; you can relax with a glass of wine after your meal. We were offered ouzo or an espresso after we asked to pay. In short, it's not your typical 'one in every village' Greek/Balkan restaurant but we felt it was better than the numerous other places in Speyer and look forward to trying it when the weather is better to appreciate the lake-side location.
