This review is based on my experience at the location in Needles at Pirates Cove. I had a pontoon rental on Wednesday (06/24/2020) and it was a great experience using Arizona Watersports (AW). I used AW on a recommendation from a friend of mine who used them recently also. When I arrived at the shack, the employee was out of the dock showing someone else their rental. As soon as he could, the employee (Blaine - I hope it's spelled right) was a huge help. Blaine gave me a run-down of the boat and off we went on our excursion. The only downfall was their phone line was down, which meant their credit card machine was down. Luckily I had a card with raised/embossed numbers to use, because they took a manual impression of my card (took it back old school). This caused a slight issue because I was planning on using a different card. read more

Rented a pontoon for the weekend and wanted to share my experience. Pros: all staff (phone and in person) were helpful & very friendly. Guy in the shack that showed us the boat was cool and seemed good to work with. No issue with scheduling or picking up our boat. Cons: The boat was an piece of junk. When booking I was told it had a BBQ but it wasn't there when picking up the boat. We brought a lot of food to cook & bought special propane cans for the grill but it all was a waste. The front door to the boat was broken so it kept swinging open & hitting whoever was sitting in the front area. The radio was pretty much useless & we had to bring a portable system to enjoy our music aboard. The boat was broken when all over. The table "fell over" multiple times. The seats and top were all VERY worn with holes. The driver area is not secure, the dash area moves a lot. The steering was off & made it very hard to enjoyably/safely drive. The front deck is rotted away. The boat is a floating hazard. I'm extremely surprised a company would rent this boat out in its current condition. read more

We rented a pontoon boat last week for the day. The boat was ready to go and it was clean. The reason I didn't give more stars was due to the condition of the boat. It seemed like a pretty old boat and had a few issues. The door on the front wouldn't stay shut, the wood was rotted out on the front floor, the radio lights didn't work so you couldn't see to tune it, and two of the 4 speakers didn't work. Also, we followed the note next to the gauges asking us not to go over 4800 rpm and the boats overheating alarm went off three times forcing us to stop and let it cool down. For $625 plus fuel, I expected a better quality boat for the day. read more

6/16/2021 If I could give this a negative star I would.  I rented a pontoon for two days June 10 & 11 2021 for over $1300 and the thing was a reck. I'm a local from Topock and my family came to visit. Our boat would not accommodate everyone so I needed another boat. The piece of junk took on water, had a  rotted bow, holes  in the Bimini to name a few things wrong with it. If I hadn't been with my family and children and been charged I would have canceled the reservation. I am very disappointed that the company would rent such a piece of junk. I will obviously never rent from you again and will certainly spread the word not to rent from Arizona water sports/Pirates Cove. Never, ever rent a pontoon from Arizona Water Sports\Pirates Cove! You aught to be ashamed for renting such junk for the amount of money you charge. read more

We rented a boat from Arizona Watersports and our experience was fantastic. An employee named Blaine was extremely helpful and friendly when we picked up the boat and returned it. The boat was clean and in good condition. Blaine noticed the tank was slightly less than full when picked up the boat and he took it over to the gas pumps and filled it up to completely full, which was only an additional gallon but he still went the extra mile. The boat cost was as advertised, there were no additional or hidden fees. When we returned the boat in the same condition as we rented, he happily returned our deposit. There was a total of 7 adults and 3 kids in our party. We rented a pontoon boat for 2 days. The employee was extremely helpful and great at answering all our questions. He also gave us a full tutorial on the boat before we took off. They had life vests available to anyone who wanted one (the kids were mandatory). We had to get a slip (right by where you get the boat) to store it over night. It was only $10 and by doing so it allowed us to not worry about having to be back at a certain time. There was plenty of storage in the back for a couple ice chests, floats, towels, etc. We had a great time with no issues! We'll rent here again for sure! read more

Recently stayed at the Pirate Cove Resort and my family and I were looking for a place to rent from. We found Arizona Watersports since it was located within the resort and we were able to book the last pontoon boat that they had for the day. Booking the boat was easy and when we got to the boat area, Garrett helped us out. Garrett did a great job of explaining everything to us and giving us a map of how to get down to lake havasu. Arizona Watersports are great! We rented a huge pontoon that held 12 of us plus our coolers. The boat was clean and properly equipped. We picked up the boat at Pirates Cove where Brian was extremely helpful and courteous! Holley was super responsive with making sure we had everything we needed when I called. I can highly recommend this company! Anybody can rent you a boat but Arizona Watersports makes customer service a very high priority and it showed every step of the process! The worst rental place for jet ski and boats. Not only do they charge you for renting there stuff but even if 1 rock gets in the propellats ( mind you're in a river) it's a damage fee. PAID $1,035 for a jet ski rental for 6 hours so RIDICULOUS!!!! read more

We originally were staying near Parker, AZ, but it was such a nice weekend all the jet ski's were rented out near us. We were able to find out that the location at Pirate's Cove was available so we made the trip over (less than an hour) and spent the day on the river. We made reservations for a pontoon boat a few months ago when we made reservations at pirates cove. This place cost more than the places we have rented in lake Havasu though there is no where else you can't rent from that is close to where we were staying. When we went to get the boat we were offered to keep the boat over night for $150. We declined. Then we find out the there isn't anyone to check in the boat that night (no one working there) so regardless we ended up having to pay $50 more for a boat we didn't even use past the time we first reserved the boat for. Honestly we should not have been charged this especially since it was an issue on their end. Garret was great and explained everything about the boat. He handled himself well when he had to tell us about the extra charge too. Then after having to pay more for the boat we get to see it. It is old and dirty. For example: The front corner of the pontoon was hanging off. Again in lake Havasu when we rented the same size pontoon for cheaper the boat was new so this was a disappointment too. Only 2 stars Due to adding on charges at check in due to their staffing issues. read more

We stayed at Pirate's Cove Resort in Needles. The young guy Garrett was awesome. He was patient with explaining how things worked and were very punctual with the checking in and out of the boat we rented for the day. Poor guy was working hard but kept a positive attitude with customers. His great customer service is what lead me to write this review. The boat itself worked fine, it was a bit older but served its purpose for us to be able to get out on the water and fish a bit down the river. read more

I booked my rental a couple weeks ago, I was given a specific time for my rental, I got a call a hour before saying I could come down and get it now, so I went, there was only 1 guy working who was helping someone else, we waited over a hour to finally do our paperwork and go and then he said we had to be back at 6 when we were told 630 (he did extend for us). When I showed him my coupon for a free hour he said it was expired and I confirmed that I was aware but when I made my booking with Tiffany I believe her name was she said just to show they and they would honor it...did not happen, also I was to be charged for tube renting but was not originally charged, I thought maybe they just did not charge in exchange for the free hour no biggie, nope got back and the guy working said he made a mistake and needed my CC back ‍. The guy working was extremely rude in the beginning of the rental but he turned out to be ok when we got back, just wanted to charge me again. I don't think I will be using this company again after the office gives false information, I like to know ahead of time what I'm dealing with and apparently customer service is not on the same page. read more
