I've never met a doctor willing to do that. After that encounter with him I decided to book another appt to see how he could help me with my chronic pain. So far so good. My pain is controlled without overdoing it and without oxy- exactly what I had asked for. He even helped fight the insurance company and advocate for me when they didn't want to cover my RX. I then asked if he would be willing to take on my mother- an addiction patient with a very complicated history. He agreed and became her primary care. My mother is combative, emotional, suffers from borderline personality and she was confrontational with Dr. Shemiranei. I asked her to calm down and give him a chance. He was very patient with her and she felt compelled to open up with him and tell him the truth. Some addicts never admit their truths and that was the first time I ever heard my mother admit her addiction and suicide attempts. Lots of closure for me. Dr. Shemiranei not only helped her with her prescriptions but also set her up for preventative care, mammogram, bone density scan, cardiologist etc. Whatever your needs -I'm sure APMUC can help or refer you to someone who can

5 Stars for a prompt and friendly PCP…read more I've been putting off getting a Primary care physician for a while, but had several people recommend Dr. Maharaj and finally called to schedule a new patient appointment. It took 6 months to get in for my first appointment, but it was worth it because now I'm an established patient and can get in whenever I need. My suggestion? Make the appointment even if you think it's too far out. You can always cancel if you find another PCP that can see a new patient sooner, but establishing yourself as a patient is key. The office is located near the Target shopping plaza just outside of Baldwin Park in an office building. It is pretty basic, but clean and the woman at the front desk was very friendly. A nurse brought me back to take my weight and medical history. He wasn't the friendliest and I heard him tell several patients he was tired (when they asked "Hi! how are you?" I can definitely understand being at work when you're not feeling up to it, but it made me a bit worried he was tired because he was sick and being in a doctor's office already has me worried I'm going to catch something... Anyway, Dr. Maharaj came in and was a pleasure to speak to. She was clearly very knowledgeable, and spent time asking me questions and running a quick physical exam. Overall, I had a great experience and though I hope I won't be there often, I feel I'll be in good hands when I need it. Quick note: Looks like they offer some aesthetic services like botox as well as other services like well-woman exams.

I get my annual physical and well woman exam as well as manipulation because Dr. Maharaj is also an osteopath. It's amazing how she can feel her way around and can tell where your body is off alignment. I always feel amazing after a tune up! I also love that this is a small business. It's private practice, not a big hospital. I feel genuinely cared for by Dr. Maharaj and her entire staff. She even had her son intern one summer and he was so professional and attentive. Almost forgot to mention, she also administers botox, fillers and other beauty procedures. I've never gotten it before and I won't go anywhere else because Dr. Maharaj is an artist with these shots because she makes them look so natural and not overdone. I also love the fact that an MD is injecting them vs a esthetician at some beauty bars.

5 Stars for a clean office with clear and quick service, and great staff!…read more I had to get in quickly and was able to get an appointment with midwife, Whitney Shidler for the same day. Check-in was quick and easy and I was in to see Whitney before long. She was really kind and helpful with all of my questions and concerns and made me feel totally at ease. When I had a follow-up question the next day, I called and spoke to triage nurse, Kelly, and once again I got the friendliest service. When dealing with health issues, that kind of kindness goes a long way. This Women's Care is closer to my house than the one I typically visit, so I may be changing over to this office after this great visit. 10/10

I've never felt compelled to write a negative review, but my experience at this office was so…read moreupsetting that I had to share my story. I feel that any pregnant woman considering this office for their care should read this review first. I am a high-risk patient. This is my first pregnancy at the age of 37. I came to this office specifically for my 12-week NIPT and ultrasound. What other reviews say about the billing department? 100% true. The policy is you to pay all fees up front -- not just for the current visit, but for future visits as well. We're talking several hundred dollars out-of-pocket, even with insurance. And no -- this does not include lab work or ultrasounds. Those charges are separate. This is just for the office visits and physician fees. No matter how far along you are, you pay upfront for all the future visits up until your delivery date. However, it is my understanding that this may just be common practice for ob/gyn's. The most egregious and frankly inexcusable part of my experience is this: after multiple rounds of back-and-forth with their billing department to get clarity on the "mandatory" financial agreement they force you to sign before being seen -- I finally signed. I agreed to their terms so I could move forward with the NIPT and ultrasound. I was seen in the office, had my blood drawn, etc. Two weeks went by. Nothing. At 14 weeks pregnant -- already anxious and desperately hoping for reassurance about my baby's genetic health -- I finally called them for an update. Do you know what they told me? They NEVER submitted my bloodwork for the NIPT. Let me repeat that: they confirmed that I had signed all the proper consent forms. They acknowledged that there were records showing I requested the test. They confirmed I had my blood drawn -- for other labs -- but somehow the NIPT was never ordered. The entire reason for my appointment was completely disregarded. Two weeks of waiting in the dark, thinking everything was in motion -- and they did nothing. If I hadn't called, I wouldn't have even known. Someone explain to me: how does this happen? How does a medical office -- one responsible for the care of pregnant women, many of whom are vulnerable and high-risk -- allow something this serious to fall through the cracks? This is more than just disorganization. This is gross incompetence. If you're considering this office: proceed with extreme caution. I can't say who exactly is to blame -- but clearly, the system they have in place is broken. And no one is being held accountable for that breakdown. The lack of professionalism is absolutely appalling. I wasn't spoken to by a manager, and further, the front staff treated me like an inconvenience. Who is running this show? This isn't just a bad experience -- it's a complete failure of care.

Doctors are not God, they don't know everything....they are practicing medicine......If you think for your self and question things, you're dropped. Shameful! I was dropped with no notice (the professional thing to do is send the patient a letter to let them know why the office doesn't want to see them and recommend another doctor). When I called in this past spring to set an appointment and to my surprise I was told I can't come in. I had never missed an appointment, been late or missed a payment in years. I was given NO notice of any kind! Why would I set an appointment if I had been dropped? I was shocked and did not know why. Their answer was pathetic. Bottom line is if you dare think of your self and question things that goes against their totalitarian way, you're gone. Also, they're terrible about returning calls in a timely manner. I'm talking 2-3 messages were left over several days with no response. You just get bounced around too much but mostly not called back at all. Do not fill out the "how are we doing" surveys, they'll use those against you! There's plenty of other better doctors out there, do your research!

While the office itself is fairly large and on both occasions I've seen a few folks waiting, patients are brought back fairly quickly. The nurse I've seen twice is personable yet professional. Dr. Constant is incredibly thorough, organized and has a great "bed-side manner. He made knowledge pertaining to my thyroid highly accessible to me without ever being condescending. While he is working with a patient, he has someone in the exam room transcribing for him. I believe this allows him to spend more time addressing patient concerns as opposed to documenting. I would highly recommend Dr. Constant for care of your endocrine system.

I would have loved to have come in but I never got notified about this place being open. I came back recently due to their REFUSAL to refill my insulin. They refused to fill my insulin to force me to come in when they hadn't attempted to reschedule my appointment when they reopened! When they refused to refill my insulin I went to make an appointment and it was schedule 7 weeks later. I had to buy my insulin on the open market even though I had health insurance. I was most frustrated because if they had simply told me they were open I would have been in. Do they forget that nearly everyone has phones? They certainly knew I had a phone due to their prior pandemic reminders, and their text message asking me to confirm my appointment earlier today. Did something happen to create an atmosphere of apathy here? Is there some new research that says denying diabetics insulin is helpful? Is denying diabetics insulin the most efficient way to contact their patients? If you're a diabetic with a predictable life then this might be the place for you. But if your life is chaotic I would recommend going to doctor who swore an oath to do no harm. They get two stars because they've done good work in the past. I wish they'd return to their previous quality
