Whether you have just a few hours or you want to get an idea of how to plan your trip, they have the best drivers who are knowledgeable and can answer any questions you have. I Had checked prices on line & saw tickets were $49 for 1-day passes. Looked great! However when we arrived in person at the ticket booth on April 9th & wanted to purchase 4 tickets, it was $85 per ticket for 1-day passes! $340 for 4 people I thought I had misread the on-line price. But we hadn't. Prices are NOT consistent. Most dates are $45. Some days were $53. For whatever reason 4/9 was $85. It made zero sense & I felt scammed! It would have been cheaper to drive ourselves & pay for parking & skip sites we had no little interest in. Or, get on the actual red San Diego Trolley & explore that way. Our driving "J" seemed nice, but commentary was a mix of really cheesy jokes & facts. When we got off & re-boarded again hours later, we were a bit bummed to have the same driver again. He seemed a bit..frazzled cause we were running a little late, traffic was building up around 4pm & some kids on the trolley were loud, which required him to talk over them. He frequently stopped & asked us all to lower our voices, even though it was 2 parents 3 unruly kids doing ALL the yapping disrupting the tour. Listening to them made me regret even more we paid $320 for this experience. IF you do this activity check/get tickets on-line so you can actually see the prices that specific day & avoid paying double & feeling ripped off. The overall experience wasnt work $320 & I'll never take visiting guest in this tour again

After a quick and easy walk through customs, Uncle Jose met us right across the street and got the day started smoothly. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel comfortable right away. He guided us through a mix of local shops and restaurants, then gave us the flexibility to visit the spots we specifically wanted. We made our way to Puerto Nuevo for lobster, which absolutely lived up to the hype, and of course stopped at Restaurante Caesar's--the birthplace of the Caesar salad--which was a highlight of the trip. Uncle Jose took great care of us throughout the day and made the experience easy and enjoyable. If you are able to walk across the border and walk back or take a $10 shuttle back into the US, ask for Uncle Jose a warm and knowledgeable local that will take great care of you. Highly recommended if you're looking for a fun, safe and stress-free Baja adventure!

From the moment we met him, we felt SO safe, taken care of, and genuinely welcomed. West's kindness, professionalism, and deep love for the area and its people truly stood out. He was always ready with helpful tips, local recommendations, and a warm smile--not just for us, but for everyone we came across. He went above and beyond in so many ways: arranging an extra driver to help with our luggage, assisting with last-minute errands, and even being our unofficial group photographer before events. Traveling somewhere unfamiliar can be a little nerve-wracking, but knowing West would be there to drop us off and pick us up made us feel so much more comfortable. His presence gave us peace of mind, and we were able to enjoy ourselves fully knowing we were in such good hands. If you're looking for someone trustworthy, kind, and incredibly reliable, West is your guy. We're so grateful for everything he did for us and would recommend him a thousand times over!

Unfortunately, our experience, especially on the return trip, was far from what we expected. Our trip started with a pickup at one of San Diego's airport parking lots, accommodating 26 guests. The driver communicated clearly about everything we needed to know when crossing from San Diego into Mexico. He was excellent--unfortunately, I didn't catch his name. However, the return journey from Mexico was a completely different story. We were dropped off a full city block away from the border, and the driver informed us that we had to take all our belongings with us. Keep in mind, this included 10-15 adults, 10 children, car seats, bundles of water, snacks, luggage, and everything else needed for an entire family vacation. We paid for safety and convenience, but that was not what we received. The driver's shift had ended, so he dropped us off and left. If the company knew this in advance, you should have had a backup bus ready at the drop-off point, arranged for a driver switch, or provided a driver with a full shift to complete the job. We had to abandon our paid-for water and somehow managed to haul the kids and luggage to the border, where we waited 3.5 hours in line to get through customs. On the bus, we had access to snacks and a restroom, but waiting in line with little to no food, hungry and tired children, and the need to pay for restrooms was an unacceptable situation, especially given the premium we paid for your service. After finally getting through customs, we had to walk another 2.5 city blocks to reach the waiting bus. Our final stop was only 20-30 minutes away, but the inconvenience and lack of communication from Five Star Tours made the entire experience incredibly frustrating. I cannot recommend your company for any tours or travel, and based on what I've seen on Google reviews, many other customers feel the same way. To Five Star Tours: You need to do better. Instead of ignoring customer feedback, start reading, listening, and learning from these mistakes. Show future customers that you've improved and are committed to delivering the service you promise.

Since we just had a…read morelong weekend scheduled there, we wanted to maximize our time to sightsee as much as possible. I found the scenic tour through San Diego Ride & Tours on TripAdvisor and booked it for Friday, March 27, about a month in advance. The cost at the time was roughly $80pp. The meeting spot was about a 10-minute walk from our hotel, which was convenient. Our mini van was full and the group was a great mix of friendly folks from around the country. Jim was our tour guide, and my boyfriend was so pleased that he bought his book online when we got home. He was genuinely interesting to listen to and is definitely in the right field. The tour took us through Little Italy, past expensive homes on a hill, to La Jolla's Children Pool where we saw seals. We spent about 12 minutes there before heading to Mt. Soledad for some pretty views. We spent about 12 minutes there as well. From there, we traveled to Old Town San Diego for a quick visit - again less than 15 minutes, which permitted time to do some light shopping and that was all. We drove past allegedly the most haunted home in America as well as Heritage Park's Victorians. After that, we headed to Balboa Park. I think we had maybe 15 minutes there, which was just long enough to know I wanted to return on my own (which we did - multiple times). From there, we went to Coronado Island. I think we had 20 minutes tops there, which provided time to see the Hotel Del quickly as well as the beach and some famous folks' homes. We passed by the Gaslamp Quarter and some cool murals on the way back to the meeting spot. Traffic did impede our times at each spot. On TripAdvisor, it said the stops would be longer - La Jolla - 20 mins, Old Town and Balboa - 25 mins each, Coronado - 30 minutes. Since all of us on the tour mentioned not having set plans afterward, I wish we could've gotten slightly closer to those times as it did feel rushed to me. I think they should add a disclaimer on TripAdvisor explaining that times at each location will be cut if there's traffic. Another reason why I docked a star is that the tour was advertised as having waters and snacks included. One bottle of water was provided once the others on the tour asked about it. In terms of snacks, Jim plucked some fruit off a tree for us in Old Town. It was tasty but I guess I was expecting more in way of snacks. All in all, I had a really good time and was able to see more in a couple of hours than I would've been able to see on my own. For that, the tour was worth it.
