I have personally enjoyed the drama therapy workshop weekends- which have brought much clarity and freedom to my own journey. Jill has a heart and a passion for wellness in body, mind, and spirit, coupled with the skills to make these workshops run efficiently. She balances therapeutic story and body-work with time and space for effective rest, reflection, and rejuvenation. I'm looking forward to exploring more mind and body connection to my passion with narrative therapeutic work in future Brave Heart Workshop retreats.

My experience here at Sage was pleasantly refreshing. I attended a smaller class (about 8 people,…read more35yr +) on a Sunday morning with a new'ish class theme -yoga for the soul. The people/community was just that- soulful & caring, practicing more traditionally, focusing on the spirit of yoga vs just asana flows. We held asanas (poses) longer than the traditional "American exercise yoga" most people think of yoga. Shane instructed and shared a lot in class personally and held space for the community to share as well, if they wished. What people shared was honest, real & refreshing. He reiterated a theme of finding common ground with people of all walks of life...not what I was expecting in Spfld, MO on a Sunday morning. Quite refreshing. Quite yoga at its finest: union! Thank you Shane & Kelly (kind man next to me) for sharing time, space, energy & a loving supportive spirit. Note: I have been practicing yoga for 7ish years and have done several certifications (200hr, stand up paddle & pre/post natal) and taught in SF (very briefly) & Costa Rica. I have been to MANY different types of yoga classes and recognize that there is a spectrum for all of us, like in life, religion, etc. This studio & community is exactly why I love, embrace and support more people doing yoga. I will be back!

Wonderful! My sister and I have been wanting a yoga studio in Springfield (that would rival my…read morepersonal experience in Buffalo, NY) and it looks like we've found our home. We went to a level 1 Vinyasa class on a Saturday morning and were greeted by Shane. There were about 5 other participants and it was clear everyone knew each other. There was a wonderful atmosphere of camaraderie among the members, but even as guests my sister and I didn't feel excluded. In fact, afterwards a few of the members stuck around and talked with us, which was so nice! Shane was great. He's more outgoing than yogi instructors I'm used to, but it was still a pleasant experience, just different. He led the moves and on occasion walked among us, adjusting some individuals where it was really needed, but mainly he left us to our own devices. He noticed the entire class was doing a move a particular way, so he walked us through how it should look, then we worked through it again, and everyone nailed it and we moved on. He worked through moves at a great pace, and then demonstrated a more advanced pose if someone wanted to try for it, which 2 participants did, so it was certainly welcomed; he really knows how to read a room. There was even a few minutes of him leading a meditation moment, encouraged focused breathing, and began and ended with some mind clearing 'oms', which I personally really enjoy. The level 1 class was great. While I didn't exactly break a sweat, there was nothing basic about it. As I'm writing this review the following day, I can feel the work out all throughout my body, which I really needed and have very much missed from my favorite studio in Buffalo (East Meets West Yoga on Elmwood Ave in North Buffalo). My sister and I are really happy with it and we took the paperwork to sign up for the monthly automatic withdraw for unlimited monthly access. The class times work really well with our work/school schedules, so we feel really good about getting our money's worth, they provide bolsters, yoga blocks, and blankets (bring your own mat), and everyone is just so welcoming that we're excited to join! If you're looking for a yoga studio where you feel like you can belong, try this place out: their schedule is on their website and to drop in and try a class is $10--it was definitely worth it!
