Me - "I mean, you can inspect it, but I know it needs an alignment." (90 minutes pass) Them - "Your car needs an alignment. It'll be $170 for the multi-point inspection. But, because your car is out of alignment, you need new tires." Me - "How much is that?" Them - "900 for the tires." Me - "oooookay, does that include the alignment?" Them - "No, that's another $170." Me - "On top of the inspection?" Them - "Yes, but we'll throw in a free tire rotation in 6 months." Me - "How about you just do the alignment?" Took my 2011 RAV4 to Ardmore Toyota for inspection - 10/25. They informed me that they could not pass inspection because I needed a NEW REAR DIFFERENTIAL; they showed me where fluid was leaking and spraying on the tail pipe which would cause a fire. In turn, they said it would cost me over $4,000. They offered to do a credit check to pay over time and/or sell me a new car. I left the dealership distraught and upset, wondering how was going to afford this, knowing I could not afford a new car. A month later I took my car to a repair shop, my car passed inspection. Relieved but still concerned about the differential, a month later, I took it to a different repair shop, they informed me that there was no leakage, the differential was in good condition and that I did not need a new one. I left happy but angry realizing that the dealership tried to get over on me. So, BEWARE of this dealership; they are dishonest and only out to rip people off. Plus they CHARGE you for new parts when they make the repair with USED parts (I have proof). I WILL NEVER, EVER GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP FOR ANYTHING; nor will I go to CENTER CITY TOYOTA either, they do the same thing. CC Toyota used to be honest and trustworthy, however, not anymore. Synthetic oil every 7500-10,000 miles the multipoint inspection is accurate here not like other mechanics I've seen. I have an older Camry that has had an issue with both brake and engine lights coming on and staying on randomly. Over the years three different mechanics have put it on the computer and said there was nothing wrong with the brakes or engine. So I figured I needed a Toyota dealer to tell me what was wrong with the vehicle. I took it in to Ardmore Toyota and explained the situation. I asked them to diagnose it only, not to do any work. I paid them $180 and received a list of what should be done to fix the situation. I gave the list to my mechanic and they did the recommended work for $760. The two warning lights came right back on. So I spent just under $1000 to solve a problem that seems to be a factory defect and the issues are not fixed. I guess Toyota saw me coming. They figured I would have them do the work and they could charge me the $760 (or likely more) to do work that did not need to be done. That is the assumption I have to make. When I asked to be refunded the $180 I spent having them misdirect me I was refused. read more

My RAV4 purchase in December 2019 was pleasant and professional. It came with two years of scheduled maintenance so I've been back here several times and all times the service has been performed accurately and on time. They offer very comfortable individual chairs with comfortable arms and they have three workstations. They also have a vending machine with soda and water in it and another one with some snack items. Unfortunately there is no free coffee like the other dealerships I have dealt with in the past. Maybe They can work on that? Every person I've done business with has been professional from the people outside who check you in to the cashiers to the service technicians at the front desk. And even the managers are friendly. He said probably not but he went to his manager, which is Ron. Ron came to me saying that he cant price match it. so i said its fine, its ok i get it. Then he said what can he give if my paper from other dealer doesnt show msrp. Is he calling me a liar? Well i said u can check with them, then again i said "its ok, if u guys cant price match. Thats fine" but yet he kept getting louder and louder where everyone started to look at us. Even my wife came back from the bathroom and yelled "Why are guys arguing?" She even pulled me out from that dealer. Ron smirked and gave a stare look at us like he won the battle or something? I dont think thats an attitude as a manager. If u cant price match. Thats fine. I also own a Lexus LC 500 . i'm treated much better at Ardmore Toyota than at the dealership that I bought my Lexus from. You would think at Lexus the level of customer care would be much greater because you're spending more money for a vehicle , but it's not. We bought a Hybrid Sienna and spent close to 50k on it - since they are so hard to find and get. Within 6 months the paint chipped off in 3 spots in the car. The Mgr and Field Engineer gave us the run around and told us that this was an environmental issue that caused the paint to chip off. What isn't environmental? If it was bird poop or sap - it came off with a 12 dollar car wash but strong enough to chip paint that the refused to acknowledge or offer a solution or even paint? This is essentially a $500 fix, with a clear coat application, that may not even be on the car, to resolve the issue. They refused to acknowledge that this is an issue and would not let me discuss with the Field Engineer. Two visits to the dealership took 2+ hours at each visit and not even able to talk to someone after such an awful explanation let a solution is not acceptable to me as new car owner. read more

Made an appointment to get my brand new, 3 week old Toyota Highlander looked at because the AC stopped blowing cold air. Made the appointment on Monday, was told soonest was Friday at 11:30, was also told if there are no rentals available that they will comp up to $10 for a lyft no problem. Dropped it off, NO offer for a ride, shuttle or lyft. Got a call at 6pm on Friday they haven't even diagnosed it and will need to keep it overnight. It's now Saturday almost noon and they barely opened the hood (I have the Toyota app and it notifies me on everything!) 24 hours later. When I called for an update, I get a snarky "well it's in the shop now and will get to it and give you an update by noon" it's now almost noon. Nothing. Communication is poor, snarky, and downright not transparent. Why even keep the car knowing you won't touch it for 24 hours?. I'm hoping the car at least gets fixed TODAY after everything. But will definitely find a different dealership regardless of distance. UPDATE: ALL they had to do was add refrigerant. No diagnosis or explanation at all whatsoever on why a 3 week old brand new car would need to get a refill on refrigerant that's usually refilled every five years! I called Bassam at Malvern Toyota and he said they charge $179 for the same test. This service department is dishonest. I looked at my original invoice and it said $179 but Don Cannon quoted me $340. I paid $358 online yesterday but have the original receipt showing $179! Not only that, Don Cannon was dishonest, condescending, rude and disrespectful when I called him on it today. Paid $475.28 and then found out mechanic drove my van into a wall creating damage to front driver Quarter panel. Service manager told me that accidents happen and what did I want to do about it. A woman name Katherine called me to schedule an appointment. we agreed on 5pm that night. was given the out the door price and said I'd be up to purchase the car. Fast forward to 5pm. I arrived on time. I went in let them know i was there and was told the Katherine would be right down. After a few minute of walking around the showroom a different salesperson comes over and says he would be helping me and tells me to have a seat. We start talking about the car and a sales manager named Marc comes up and informs me that the car i came to buy had been sold 20 minutes before I arrived. I never got a call or anything. it was an hour ride out there and an hour ride home. Marc offered me his card and said he would look for something and call me to let me know. I refused the card and let him know i was unwilling to do business there after the incident. after leaving he follows me out to the car and offered me money for fuel which was kind but still left me feeling insulted. What can I say about the service department here. They were prompt, delivered as promised and did not try to up sale. I brought my daughter car in which was a used car purchase for a overall check up. I had everything service that they said needed attention. I called and asked if they could wash the car and they did. They only reason I am not giving them a 5 star because I asked them to look over the entire car. After I picked the car up and drove it for myself I realized there were things that were not looked at. Head lights, interior lights, keys in door/trunk and the console not cleaned however the was was all extra. For car repair service, once you're a customer, they're fine. However, to become a customer, this place is horrible. The sales department is run by the worst sharks you will ever run into. Their first offer will always be an insult, and they won't go down to something reasonable without fighting, like I'm buying drugs off the street. For example, my wife and I were "offered" $699 a month to lease a new Sienna back in 2013. After 6 hours of negotiations we got down to $305 a month. $305!!! Why make us go through all of that bs if $305 was where you were willing to go. This will be our last year with them. We have leased from them twice more since the Sienna, because it's a headache to go elsewhere. We get down to $300 a month each time, after hours of the same haggling. And now, after 10 years of leasing, we get nothing for our loyalty. These bastards are trying to give us 8.2% interest to purchased our lease when we both have A++ credit. I'm done. My car was making some strange sounds and I asked if it could be investigated during diagnostic service. The sound is unreliably produced and wasn't appreciated on initial inspection. Despite the staff being somewhat of tight on a weekend, Drew went out of his way to make sure that a mechanic could drive with us after the diagnostic and reproduce the sound and could reassure us that it wasn't a likely safety issue. I appreciate his doing this a lot and would like to acknowledge it - thanks! We're still trying to figure out next steps, but the staff were clear, professional and overall helpful. The minus one star is for the fact that it did take some pushing to further investigate the issue, and I think it's unfair to charge people for a diagnostic of a sound the car makes, for example, if you haven't been able to actually reproduce it. No patient wants a doctor who ignores the key issue they came in for and the thing that's scaring them the most. It's hard to push and advocate for your needs when you're not the expert and you need a car to get around. read more

I brought my car in due to an unexpected flat tire on Wednesday evening for drop-off services. On Thursday morning, I received a very detailed report of the needed repairs. One repair needed that was noted was to "cut and reprogram key fob". I typically received this note as the battery in my key fob is damaged, but in great condition otherwise. I just have not found it necessary for me to replace my entire key based off of the battery. Therefore, I ignored that note and proceeded with the repairs that I found necessary for the moment. Upon picking my car up today, my hood was left propped open, which I immediately inquired about. The person dismissed me (an African-American woman) and said go to the front desk. As I was walking to the desk, the same person slammed the hood shut and walked away. As I was driving I also noticed that my key was taped up. I thought nothing of it until I went home because I figured that was for the tag that they put on it. Upon removing the tape, my entire key fell apart! I called the customer service desk to inquire about why my key was returned to me broken. The response I received was that they told me that they needed to cut and reprogram the key. I asked why wasn't there a note that detailed my key was broken beyond repair as they did with the other car parts that were in need of repair. The response that I received was that it was on the mechanic's personal note and that is not something that is shared with the customer. So now, I have to replace my car key And reprogram the car for $500 and I didn't even produce the damage. I rarely write reviews on here. But, this place was so horrible, that I had to. Please see the below. Customer service was horrible and so was checkout. I would never go back again. If it were up to me, I'd give this place 0 stars. Check in was a mess. Valet told me to go in, sit down, and wait for someone to call on me while having my insurance and registration ready, despite stating that I've been to another Toyota branch before, just that it was my first time at this one. When I was initially standing on line (because what the valet said to me made no sense), no one said anything to me and basically ignored me, so I eventually sat down. It was until someone was walking around asking if we had been serviced is when I got assistance. (That guy was cool.) Before I went to pick up the car, I was contacted and advised that the serpentine belt needed to be replaced due to cracks (not valid - the cracks were minuscule) and my headlight was out (valid) when I originally came in to get the airbag replaced for the recall. When I asked customer service in person if I could see pictures of the serpentine belt or speak with someone so that I could look at it myself, customer service got an attitude and stated that he could pull up a picture of a serpentine belt online (which is not what I asked for). He told me to ask for a technician, which is what I did in response to what he said. Also, overheard checkout talking about customers and making jokes about them at the front desk. That wasn't cool at all. Didn't get my receipt until the technician showed up and hearing customer service say in passing that normally technicians don't interact with customers. (Ok, if that was an issue, then why did you suggest that I speak with a technician then?) Technician was cool. He was patient and I even stated to him that I normally wouldn't ask to look under the hood and have someone explain what was going on with the serpentine belt, but I let him know that I wanted to make sure I saw what was going on. (Also, for legal reasons.) He showed me which headlight was out. Again, I appreciate his patience with me. Thank you. This was my first time coming to this Toyota branch and I would never come back again. As for a manager seeing this review and contacting me, please don't contact me. I would prefer to be left alone. I work in customer service myself and this isn't the way your employees should be treating people. I understand that it's a hard time to work given that it's the holiday season and it's compounded by COVID, but it doesn't give your employees the right to treat people like crap, let alone talk about them as if they can't hear them. My lease is coming to an end and I decided to buy my car from the dealership. What should be an easy process is made a lot more difficult as I am presented with all the extra charges. The most egregious is the fact that they want to have the car inspected and charge me for it even though my car was serviced and inspected one month ago. Even though one of the sales people- Steve said the inspection could be waived another sales person- Dan, insisted I have to have it. He even booked my inspection without coordinating with me! I was charged $1,000 but the problem with my car stayed the same, and was not fixed AT ALL. The customer service was horrible, they were not friendly to non-white people at all either. After everything and saying that my problem was not fixed, they said if I wanted to get a transmission then I would be charged $9,000. I got the same problem fixed from a different local mechanic, and HE ONLY CHARGED ME $500. THIS DEALERSHIP IS BULLSHIT. They did nothing to refund my money, (I WAS SCAMMED) even after telling them my problem was not fixed. My advice is to do your research and always ask for the Out the Door price of the vehicle you're interested first and foremost! The Sales person seemed like in the beginning but when me and my husband changed our minds about the sale and weren't given the out the door price of anything that quickly changed! Not even a week later, we were told we couldn't have our deposit back on a vehicle that wasn't even on their lot yet!
