I know the conversation the office manager had with her and I didn't even need to be there to know that it was predatory practices. All while the manager had an attitude while talking with me, her admitting to me that it was a lot of information that she discussed with her and being condescending by insinuating that my mother-in-law is not of sound mind and that she feels that my assumption of the conversation was not how it went. This office took advantage of my elderly mother-in-law in an absolutely unacceptable and predatory way. They pressured her into applying for a credit card to pay for dental work without clearly explaining what she was agreeing to -- no itemized list of services rendered, no paperwork outlining what still needed to be done, and no documentation regarding the financing they encouraged her to sign up for, knowingly giving her a lot of information at once. She was made to feel like she had no choice, made to her feel like she might lose all her teeth, and was emotionally backed into a corner. The staff openly admitted to overwhelming her with information, but instead of acting ethically or with compassion -- especially knowing she's on a fixed income -- they pushed forward with what felt like a high-pressure sales tactic. This is not how healthcare professionals should treat anyone, let alone a vulnerable senior. Their priority was clearly getting paid, not patient care. If you're considering this practice, especially for an older loved one, I strongly urge you to be cautious and demand full transparency before agreeing to anything. I am noticing something important that I would like to point out. They have no response to any reviews, good or bad. If they really felt like they wronged someone, a good business usually tries to make it right. They haven't commented on anything at all, which tells me it could be a liability for them and have likely been urged by lawyers not to....DO NOT GO HERE!!

I waited THREE MONTHS for this appointment. I have a hip replacement. My referring dentist had documented my dental phobia and that I might need sedation. This office NEVER told me they don't do sedation. I showed up believing I would be sedated, and only found out when it was too late to go anywhere else. When I started to panic, the dentist's answer was: "You're free to leave and find another place that does" sedation. After a three-month wait, hours of travel with a driver, and a hip replacement. There was nowhere else. So I said "no, just get it over with" -- and this man looked at a terrified patient and said "ok then." That was it. No compassion, no reassurance, nothing. I had panic attacks in that chair. No pain meds offered after. The whole thing ran like a factory -- mouth open, teeth out, next. I was not treated like a person. Let me be clear about what this was: I am on Medi-Cal, and I was treated like it. Like being poor and afraid meant I didn't deserve dignity. I didn't choose my insurance. That doesn't make me less of a human being. If you have dental anxiety, do not go here. You will be humiliated, terrified, and sent home with nothing. ---

Especially when it comes to my medical/dental care. I used to go to a dentist less than a mile from where I live - which was phenomenal and worked well with my schedule. My sister, Shareen, has been raving about Dr. Patel for a few years (she even entered Dr. Patel's number in my contact list a while back). In January, I started having this pain on my left side of the mouth (about a couple of weeks after my last routine dental appointment at my regular dentist)...long story short, I ended up needing a root canal and found out that I had a cracked tooth that was progressively getting worse. Which led me to think - maybe my dentist should have caught it during my last very recent visit). Anyway, fast forward to today. I switched to Dr. Patel in late January and am extremely thrilled. The entire team is helpful, cheerful, knowledgeable and makes for a pleasant experience. The office is conveniently located (not under a mile from my home, but it is an absolutely worthwhile trade-off). I ended up needing a crown and the team worked around my schedule and kept in contact with me for any openings that may come up before my scheduled appointment. The text communication is super helpful, as a I spend most of my work life on conference calls. During my prep to get the tooth ready for the crown, I did not like all the "stuff" happening in my mouth, so Dr. Patel would pause after every few seconds and make sure I was okay. I think the procedure took about 30 minutes, but it felt like it went by much faster, even though Dr. Patel would stop for me to make sure I was okay. That is how efficient he is! Oh and they have a TV mounted to the ceiling, so you can actually have something to do instead of just laying there. AND - they give you awesome headphones so you can catch up on your old episodes of Friends or Narcos or whatever! And while writing this review, I found out that my other sister, Shane is also a patient of Dr. Patel. We are making this a family dentist! Pam is a terrific, Bonnie is awesome, Kelsey is superb, Kasandra is a delight, and Dr. Patel is a Rockstar! I highly recommend them.

Kind of a relaxed, chic welcoming feel to it. After spending the last couple of years with Dr. Patel and his amazing team working through a comprehensive treatment plan (crowns and veneers) I can honestly say that this is best professional service I've ever had. Dr. Patel and his team, especially (Jessi who is in the front) generously spent the extra time working through a complicated insurance plan situation with the up most patience, always keeping me in the loop through the process. Gabi , Erica and Nathalie are always extra patient with me as I have severe anxiety about having poking and prodding done to my mouth. But before you go thinking they overcharged to pay for their beautiful new facility, here's the deal--they don't and still do amazing work--I've never had to dispute an amount to pay because they're on top of things in communicating with insurace, they've been super patient with my difficult teeth (I had to go try and seat the same crown I think 3 or 4 times, and each time they knew it wasn't just right so they just sent it back out to get fixed!) I've never had unresonable discomfort during or after a procedure, never doubted their diagnoses, never dreaded going back. In fact, I look forward to it! In addition to all of this, they're just really fun people! They remember tons about my friends and I and always ask how everyone's doing. I am so thankful that I found a place that I hope one day I can take my kids to so I can save them the trauma I endured and they can actually love going to the dentist while growing up! I almost didn't want to write this review because I never want it to get so big that I can't get an appointment, but they're so awesome I don't think they would even let that happen! So, in short, if you're looking for a dentist, see everyone at Dr. Mar's... and feel free to tell him that crazy girl Mary told you all about how awesome they were on Yelp!

When I refused he demanded to know why, and after explaining it's too expensive, he said " Well you have all those other expensive crowns and root canals, why can't you have this done?" I have never encountered such unethical, presumptuous, coercive behaviour in my life! When I made my appointment I first verified that they accept my version of Delta insurance, only to be presented after the exam with a deep cleaning (periodontal planing) plan of care demanding $300 out of pocket from me. My Delta plan clearly states that deep cleaning is fully covered, and it took 3 refusals to sign before the front office clerk finally generated a plan of care with no demand for more money from me. There are many complaints of high pressure sales tactics and outright brutality and damage while cleaning teeth from patients on Yelp, Google reviews, and elsewhere. He is NOT a periodontist and is clearly incompetent . I will never return, and will have to pay out of pocket for another new patient appointment elsewhere. Caveat emptor: buyer be ware.

At my first appointment on September 22, 2025, the hygienist only cleaned half of my teeth in about 30 minutes and told me to come back later in the week to finish. Then the office claimed that this second visit would count as my "second cleaning." So basically, they tried to count one cleaning split into two sessions as the two cleanings I paid for. That's like paying for two burritos and being given one burrito cut in half -- it's absurd. This whole situation was incredibly stressful, frustrating, and felt like a complete scam. It honestly ruined my week trying to sort it out. Their own brochure clearly states "two professional cleanings," yet I only got half of one. The experience left me feeling deceived and taken advantage of, and I would strongly warn others to stay away or double-check everything before paying.
