The full rack of BBQ ribs for 15 bucks were quite small and not at all hot... I enjoyed the taste but left hungry. For that price I would also expect a side but that one isn't included either. Considering the competition in the area I probably won't come again any time soon.

Brooklyn BBQ Bar is the best! Where do I begin?…read more I will start with the people here. They are so kind and go out of their way to make your experience a great one. I have had dinner here a couple of times, but most recently I hosted my birthday dinner here. André was SO helpful. He was flexible with menus, made sure everyone: carnivores, omnivores, and vegetarians alike, who came were amply fed, and when I came in they had even decorated the table with balloons and streamers. So awesome! The food is incredible. I feel like as an American, I may not like my president, but I CAN judge great barbecue. Their BBQ is great. My favorite is the ribs. And as a North Carolinian, I have to say that their North Carolina-style coleslaw is spot on. It reminds me of home, which I love. The drinks are also great. Everything I have had there has been amazing. Never too sweet. And judging by the amount of drinks my friends ordered on my birthday, they all liked them too. I could go on and on, but I will stop here for now. If you want to just stop in for dinner, GO HERE. If you want to have your birthday party in a restaurant, DO IT HERE. Run, don't walk! Thank you André and everyone at Brooklyn BBQ bar for making my birthday such a special night. Can't wait to be back again and again.

English: This place had long been on our list to try…read more Having been let down by visiting a number of Hamburg restaurants with high hopes, we tempered our expectations going into this upscale bbq place, but we could not have been more pleasantly surprised! After a kerfuffle at the door where we accidentally stepped in front of other people waiting to be seated (we had a reservation anyways), we were quickly seated and our fantastic dinner began. The service was great, and that's honestly not something we say very often about any restaurant in Germany at all. Attentive without being pushy, offering bits of advice and info, and easy to flag down. Between the three of us, we made sure to all order different mains and sides so we could try a larger portion of the menu. We started with the burrata for the table. It was tasty, though avocado isn't the best partner for burrata in my opinion. The light honey mustard sauce on the side added some bright notes to the overall dish, and in the end we found ourselves scraping the plate to try to get a couple more bites out of the whole thing. The brisket was incredibly tender and juicy, on top of a bed of large white beans in a tomato sauce. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, not dry at all. The steak was also perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the mashed potatoes with bacon were a delight to eat. We also had the side salad and the cole slaw (delicious!). Portions were a good size, and we left feeling a little too full, actually. If we hadn't eaten the burrata, we'd still have been perfectly thoroughly sated. We passed on dessert, but I'd be intrigued to go back and try. I hope this place lasts. It's been a long time since we had such great food in Hamburg and I think you'd be hard pressed to make a better choice for dinner.

Given the small amount of dishes on the menu (basically four mains, four sides and five sauces/dips) how, in the middle of the week, can they manage to run out of potatoes? With only two bottled beers on sale how can one of them not have been stored in the fridge? The room temperature beer (the second bottle of which was properly cold) was at least pointed out when placing our order so taking it on was my choice but the delay between placing the food order and it arriving at the table was far too long. Other diners were clearly experiencing similar issues and communication from the staff was limited concerning the delays and the potato issue, which was a shame as both the servers came over as knowledgable about the menu and as personable individuals. When the food did finally arrive the plates were cold and the meat and veg of widely varying temperatures although at least definitely cooked. The desire to be cool needs to be toned down in favour of the basics - clear communication, cold beer and hot food.

I ate here every lunch for a week, and sampled a broad range of items and found it all good. The Kimchi Jjigae is punchy, spicy and enriched with belly pork and pork broth. Loaded with flavorful kimchi and presented with a bowl of rice and 3 banchan, this was a must have staple for me at every meal. The pork bulgolgi was tasty, spicy, and fatty--perfect for stirring into rice and more banchan. The djajiangmein was a surprisingly pleasing bowl of spring udon like noodles, earthy slightly sweet black bean paste, and little morsels of pork to give depth and rounded mouth feel. Bibimbap was accompanied by fiery Gochujang sauce and loads of banchan vegetables. Service is friendly and quick--walk all the way in to the end of the bar to place your orders for lunch. Reservations necessary at night--especially on the weekends! They are fully booked for good reason.

The burgers were pretty good, although I felt that they overdid on the fatty (cheese sauce, mayo) ingredients. Fries very good and the home made lemonade plain, but good. Cold Dry Tasteless Spineless Way Overpriced (5€ for Fries) First we waited for an hour until the food came. Then it was one horrible taste experience after another. I ordered the Blue-cheese burger with sweet potato - it was nothing more than nasty and tasteless. Too much blue-cheese sauce, the bacon was thin and the opposite of crispy. The "candied walnuts" were two nuts stuck deep into the tasteless bun. The paddy was dry, tasteless and couldn't hold itself together. To top it all off the burger was cold. Cold meat, cold bun. I was eating with 3 others - all three ordered the Cheeseburger. All three did not finish their food due to disgust. 2 of them ordered the "chilly cheese fries" - the cheese tasted like kraft cheese out of the can (US Reference...) which is fake cheese. The "chilies" didn't help the whole situation, as they looked like they were sloughed onto the cheese directly from the glass they were purchased in. No one asked how the food tasted. No one seemed to care if the customers were happy. I believe they had seen faces like ours before: disappointed and sad that the food was so terrible. We all left the restaurant with rocks in our stomachs, wishing we had never entered this restaurant. Really a shame. I should have taken the hint from the amount of "additives" (Tabasco, spicy chilly sauces etc) that sat ready on the table.
