For me, the line lives up to the hype. I can't think of a single ice cream parlor more creative than Salt and Straw. Some of the menu options sound absolutely absurd such as Melon + Prosciutto, Pear + Blue Cheese, and Strawberry Pretzel Salad. Despite the wackiness, they're doing something right with these flavors. I opted for their limited edition Strawberry Pretzel Salad. It has a salty crunch that brings out the sweetness of the strawberry ice cream. I also detected some cream cheese in there, which works really well! Can't wait to drop by again for their next lineup of limited edition flavors.

Like you have to go there when it's dark too just to admire that retro neon sign they have. When I went, the line looked longer than it was. The team inside is very efficient. We waited in what looked like a 30 min+ line for only 10 minutes. I got the toasted almond and Thai tea (whenever I see Thai tea ice cream I have to get it). The toasted almond wasn't my favorite, but the Thai tea was really good. Their ice cream has a great texture too that you just can't get from store bought. They have a pretty large selection of flavors so I'll be trying something else next time for sure.

I think that I started going back in 2023 with my Uncle Steve, but my friend Marcus ordered some peach ice cream to be delivered on my birthday in 2022. I think Gunther's is the only place I've found peach so far. One trip in 2024, I ordered ahead of time. The pickup line was short, so we were in and out rather quickly. My last trip in early 2025, we decided to try some of the freezes. I think I did pineapple, raspberry, and? It was all right. I haven't tried a banana split, shake, or an item from the case yet. I think that my favorite flavor they have is butter pecan, though. All of my pictures are in other posts and no longer in my phone... This review reminds me that I haven't been there this year, or at least I don't remember a trip in 2026. Gunther's should have a point/reward program...

Their ice cream is great for sharing unless you want to indulge on your own--they're massive and packed with toppings. It gets busy, especially in the evenings and when they're having fundraisers. That's the only thing I don't really like, so I try to come here when it's less busy. Overall, we've always had good service here, but I just don't like how crowded it can get.
