We went to Charlie's at about 10:00 pm on a Saturday night and after we got our ice cream and sat…read moredown we were approached by a small, seemingly homeless child who was carrying a bag and asked if we wanted to buy some jewelry. I like kids as much as the next guy and I try to help the homeless out often so I asked him what he had. (The kid looked to be about 6 years old.) He pulled out a dozen or so rings and necklaces that looked like they came out of a bubblegum machine. They couldn't have been worth more than .50 cents each but he was asking $25-$30 apiece for them. Um...no thanks. I politely told the kid I'd have to pass this time and he dropped his head with the most pathetic sad face you've ever seen on a kid and proceeded to slowly and dramatically pick up each piece of his "jewelry" one at a time and put them back in his bag. Since he was taking so long to get his things and move on to the next people I tried to make some small talk with him and asked him his name and if he lived around there. He gave no reply and just stood there continuing to sloooowly pick up his trinkets one at a time. It was super awkward. We then watched the six year old and his three siblings who all appeared to be between 4 - 10 years old ride around the the inside of the restaurant on the wheeled high chairs, pulling themselves around the dining area by the tables. One of the kids was trying to ride a booster chair around the lobby like a skateboard. As each new set of patrons came in and sat down to eat their ice cream they were approached by one of the kids trying to sell the cheap costume jewelry. We could see numerous customers who were clearly annoyed by this. I stepped outside and called Charlie's and asked the girl who answered the phone if they were aware that they had seemingly homeless kids in their establishment selling crappy jewelry and was told by TWO different employees (including a supervisor) that there was "nothing we can do about it." Um...what?!? You think there's nothing you can do about homeless people trying to sell trinkets to your customers INSIDE YOUR RESTAURANT?!? Please tell me you don't really believe there's nothing you can do. These kids had no adult in sight. We saw a couple of the kids, who were absolutely filthy, going around the counter a bit where no customers belong, let alone absolutely filthy customers. One of the kids appeared to have gotten a bloody nose so she had Kleenex stuffed up and hanging out of her nose as she wandered back behind the counter where the food is prepared. I'll post pics of some of the antics these kids were doing as well as pics of them trying to sell their trinkets to multiple customers. Based on the fact this place allows homeless people to harass customers inside the restaurant and treat the dining area like their personal playground, we won't be going back here.

This place takes a treat native to the Czech Republic and takes it to a new level. There were so many add ons and great tastes. Their ice cream flavor of the month cinnamon roll and I could have not expected anything better. Their usually flavors are vanilla and chocolate soft serve with a rotating monthly flavor. Not sure how to describe the cone except divine. In my opinion it was close to a donut and or flaky croissant consistency. Regardless you should run and get you some. Out the door each cone was under $7. I loved that I did not feel nickel and dimed with the add ons. The only knock is it was not busy or more crowded. Don't get me wrong I don't like lines but I do love the thought that this place will be supported for when I visit in the future.

I got a regular vanilla ice cream with the traditional crispy cone & almond toppings on top. Kept it real simple since it looked a little too much to start with. They fill the ice cream a lot! I wish they would've had an option to make it sized differently since I thought this was too much for me & I couldn't really get to the cone part entirely. For some this might not be a problem. Overall, very interesting & cool place to try if you've never have before. The store itself was spacious and clean. The two employees working were very sweet and seemed to like their job. I am overall very happy to have come across this place!
