Normally, this would be a five-star review, but I did have a slight issue prior to arrival…read more I've been a Marriott Bonvoy member for over 30 years, and when given a choice, I always try to stay at a Marriott. As a Lifetime Platinum Elite member, certain benefits are part of that loyalty. I had two reservations for this stay: the first portion was booked under my name, and the remaining nights (which together totaled seven nights) were accidentally booked under my husband's name and his Bonvoy number. In the past, I've never had an issue having reservations like this paired together. I even called Marriott in advance and was told not to worry, that the hotel would merge the reservations upon arrival and that my Platinum benefits would apply for the entire stay. The flight was delayed into Vienna, I contacted the hotel through my reservation to notify them. At the same time, I again requested that the two reservations be merged and asked whether my Platinum benefits would override my husband's so we could have lounge access for the duration of our stay. Ronja responded and clearly stated that this would not happen and that my Platinum benefits would not be honored for the second half of the stay. After going back and forth and realizing I wasn't getting anywhere, I decided to address it when we got to the hotel. When we arrived at 1:00 a.m., Michael was at the front desk, and he was absolutely wonderful. Friendly, professional, and incredibly accommodating. He resolved the situation immediately and without hesitation. Ronja's LinkedIn lists her title as "Hotel & Hospitality Specialist," but based on this interaction, additional training may be beneficial. As a lifelong Platinum Elite member, I certainly did not feel like a valued guest. Aside from that experience, the hotel itself was absolutely perfect. Our room was lovely, located on a high floor with a beautiful view overlooking the park. The hotel has so much to offer, and the Concierge Lounge was one of the best I've ever experienced. It was open daily from 6:30 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.--which is impressive in itself. Breakfast was served every morning with a great selection of both hot and cold options, and the coffee machine offered an excellent variety of choices. There was also a daily happy hour from 5:00 p.m. until closing, with beer, wine, and a consistent selection of food and snacks. The lounge staff truly went above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable and welcome. The views from the lounge were magnificent making it a nice place to relax after a long day. This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic part of the city. It's within walking distance of major sights and excellent restaurants. If you're visiting Vienna, this is a wonderful place to stay.

Solid hotel with a solid breakfast buffet…read more We stayed here for 5 nights. The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly. Each morning, we had breakfast at the hotel which included hot items like scrambled eggs, bacon (which was different from American bacon), mushrooms, potatoes, roasted tomatoes, waffles, and pancakes. The buffet also had a fruit bar, deli section, breads, sweet pastries, yogurts, cereals, salad, and a made to order omelette station. Beverages included coffees, teas, juices, and even prosecco. The food was the same every day, but there was enough selection that we could switch it up throughout the week. Would stay here again in the future.

Check-in folks and concierge as well as restaurants staff all work hard to keep guests super happy and we appreciate their efforts especially during Christmas and New Year's when the hotel is super busy. Location is absolutely perfect, very close to all the places that you would want to go and at the same time not too close to the very busy areas. The park nearby is pretty nice and it is easy to walk to. Breakfast every day was such a nice treat and the vibes at the district in the morning set a perfect stage for the upcoming day, has great energy. Anastasia was specifically very kind to us during our breakfast mornings and made sure we were well taken care of! She was very kind. We also checked out Pastamara and the bar which we both pretty good and recommended. We didn't get a chance to go to the district for dinner, but maybe next time. I got sick one of the days we were there and ordered room service and was very surprised with everything I got. With the hotel staff for so kind to keep sending me ginger, tea and cookies after they figured out I was sick. Loved our stay and hope to be back sometime soon. Recommend to anybody going to Vienna.

They took our luggage and brought us to check in. We had booked the most basic room that included the lounge but realized a couple days in advance that we had been upgraded to a suite. Check in was a delight. We were then brought to our room to "check it out"! The room was huge. A living room, bedroom, walk in closet, main bathroom with double sinks and a separate bath and shower. Then the extra gift was the half bath! Who doesn't love that? We could control the AC and get it to however cool we wanted it. The room was one the best. The staff throughout the hotel were wonderful. Everyone greeted us by name whenever we stopped by. The daily breakfast buffet was delicious. The fresh breads, the cheese selection and warm dishes as requested. The quality of the food was top notch...not regular old hotel food. Great location. Within walking location to many tourist sites. Restaurants galore within a short walk. Great transportation right out the front door. Highly recommend.

We were able to "store" our bags while we waited for our room to be ready. The bags were just tagged sitting in the lobby, and my American brain felt that wasn't the safest, but whatever. The rooms were a good size, but I found the set up of the shower and toilet very awkward. Depending on who you're traveling with, it could be concerning, as it's not very private. There was also construction going on, so it was a bit loud in the mornings

The hotel is extremely modern and the staff are very helpful. There is a self check-in process, which is quick and easy (and located conveniently in the bar). They also offer reasonably priced bike rentals, which is a great way to see the city. The rooms themselves are very clean, reasonably spacious, and have an array of amenities. One thing to note about the room layout, however, is that it boasts partially private en suite bathrooms - the toilet is private, however, the curtain only wraps halfway around the transparent shower stall, so if you are sharing the room with anyone other than your significant other, you should keep in mind that you'll need to set ground rules for staying far away from the bath side of the room when someone is in the shower! I was staying with a close friend, so it didn't bother us too much, but this may be a deterrent for some. The room amenities were top notch - this hotel provides "Handy" phones for guest use - something that I hadn't seen before. These smartphones are fully equipped with cellular service and 3G, meaning you can bring them around the city with you to use for phone calls, Google Maps, etc (and save your own battery for photos)! The room also had a tablet in it for ordering room service and browsing the internet, however, I didn't find it to have as much utility, and could've gone without - especially in lieu of including a different amenity, like in-room coffee. All in all, the attention to detail, modern amenities and location made this hotel a place I would love to return to, and certainly will be recommending to others.

This hotel is relatively small and family owned, and it has got so many things about hospitality right. Style: The visual nerd in me rejoiced seeing how full of character it is, with each of the rooms (and even each of the hallways) styled differently. The space is filled with original paintings and art objects, reflecting the owners's passion. Location: 5 out of 5, as it is walking distance to the historic center and most of the sights, while being in a quieter area not far from the Museumsquartier. Breakfast: My oh my, that breakfast deserves separate accolades. I only wish I could have access to that same selection of bread (and beyond) in the hotels here in the States. It is a buffet table in essence, with an outstanding selection to fit any diet or preference. And you get a few "chef's options" too that change daily. The staff are super friendly and caring, and the breakfast space is very elegant. Room: spacious and tasteful. The sleep quality was great (and that is by no means a guarantee for me at hotels, so I was grateful for a comfy bed and pillows and high quality breathable bedding). All that being said, the devil is in the detail, as usual. And here there were those small gestures that made you smile and helped you feel at home (albeit for a few days): a welcome note from the team, and a cute little ornament gift (as we were staying there over Christmas, and spending Xmas at a hotel away from home is well... different), a waffle dispenser (you've got to see it) at the reception, the "tea and cake" time for the guests. And more. Things like that were that cherry on top that made me want to come back when I am back in Vienna.

The reception floor is where they have the dining room and lounge. The included European breakfast is amazing! They have an array of fresh bread, cheeses, meats, veggies, and muesli (unbaked granola). They have at least ten different kusmi teas to choose from. In the afternoon there is a complimentary tea hour. The rooms are spacious and all are different from one another as they are designed by various artists. You can tell that the rooms were so carefully thought out (everything from the light fixtures to the side tables). In terms of location, it's about a 5 euro trip most places, 12 min walk to the museums and 20 min to the center of the old city center.

The lobby is very nice and for Christmas, they had apparently made a life-size gingerbread house for the cafe. Really. It was actual gingerbread and candy. Even the view from the room was fantastic. We were on the side facing the ice rink, and all day long we could watch skaters. Kids learning, hockey games, people doing routines. It's the room itself where it all falls apart. It's badly in need of a renovation. First annoyance was the bed. It was on wheels. And the wheels had worn divots into the carpet, so the bed would always settle about six inches away from the headboard mounted to the wall, so you would lose your pillow, ebook, etc. down the gap. The worst part was the bathroom. First off, you have to step up into the bathtub, and it's at knee level. It's so high up, I smacked my toe at least once. If you have mobility issues or just aren't confident you can haul yourself into this thing, better make sure your room has a suitable tub. The tub itself was high enough that my head was at the ceiling. Worst of all was the narrowness of the tub. It was so narrow it would force my feet into uncomfortable positions, meaning I'd twist my knee. I had pain in my leg from the flight, and this tub made it worse. Sadly, it didn't look to me like a renovation was anywhere near the horizon. A couple rooms were being worked on, but the guys were putting up the exact same outdated wallpaper that's in the other rooms. I don't get it. Despite the good points, I wouldn't stay here again.
