The other way that many in the area can tell what type of windy day it is, is by driving past this delightful travel plaza. While I'm biased, I think that old glory is the prettiest flag that has ever graced our shores, or any other. Shree's has the biggest, most impressive flag that I have ever seen! Whether you were driving over to Seattle and are just west of town, or are coming back from the west side and are at the crossroads of the state, you've definitely seen this flag. On a windy day, you get to see all the glory in all her proverbial glory! And while the colors don't run, you may just run here for an impressive selection of gas station pleasantries! they've got a good selection of all things pop, coffee, beef jerky, or whatever other snack you're looking for on your journey. The last time we stopped in here, we had quite the smattering of things brought back to the car. They included shredded beef jerky, some almonds, a number of different beverages, some string cheese, and a cup of tea for our matriarch! The gentleman running the place was very friendly, and as with most of these places, it was very efficient. The gas pumps outside are plentiful, have hoses that reach both sides of the car, regardless of which way you pull in, and last, but not least, the bathrooms are solid! They share a parking lot with an antique store that also sells many things you hadn't thought about in quite some time. All in all, this is a great Quick stop on your way east, or as you head west. Definitely faster than driving into town, and the gas prices are always better than most of the surrounding stops. Well worth your time, if nothing else to pay your respects to one of the largest flags you will ever see!

The area around the pumps is so dirty with grease you don't want to get out and track it back in, let alone touch anything. Someone desperately needs to manage and care about this business.

I bought a used International Harvester ambulance over in Seattle and was headed home to Palouse,…read moreWA when I stopped in Ellensburg for windshield wipers and a wash. The ambulance began cutting out intermittently and I stopped for lunch and searched local diesel shops on my phone. Crossroad Garage had great reviews, so decided to try and get there. I called and Brianna said they could diagnose it immediately, but probably not fix it until the next day. On the way there, it died and I towed it in with my support vehicle. They said it was a fuel pressure issue, but needed more time the next day to know for sure. Within an hour of them opening the next day, Brianna called and told me what was wrong, and that parts were available in Yakima, and the repair would be $1800. She couldn't guarantee that it would be fixed the same day, but they would try. I was called at 3pm and told it was ready. When I picked it up, the bill was $400 less than I was quoted. I paid and hit the road. I immediately noticed increased power and nearly twice the previous gas mileage. I made it the remaining 200 miles home without any further issues. Everyone there that I dealt with was pleasant and professional. They quickly diagnosed the issue and repaired it for less than what I was quoted. So happy, that I even bought one of the Black Rifle Co. trucker hats they had for sale!

Because of the dangerous situation, the owner skipped dinner and came to get me out of harm's way after calling me immediately after my insurance co contacted them for towing. Both the owner and his second tow truck driver were professional and friendly. After inspecting and guessing what the issue was they ordered the part that night (with no obligation if it wasn't needed). In the AM, they inspected my truck first thing and their previous night's assessment was spot on. The part came in shortly after and I was on the road a couple hours later. So much integrity!!! As a single woman traveling cross country I would have paid whatever was needed so I'd worried about a huge bill. I was so surprised that the whole solution was just over $400. p.s. after towing my truck they made sure I had a safe place to stay for the night. Talk about above and beyond service wise!!!

He did some tests on the car and pointed out that the coolant was still too hot, one of the fans wasn't kicking in to cool the engine and that there might be a problem with a thermometer or valve. We still had a ways to go, so he called his mechanic to come over. Thanks to Gary we felt safe driving the rest of the way.
