This has gas station/ carwash is for the most part pretty awesome. The cashiers inside the store are pretty friendly. As for the car wash, the prices are reasonable. Although admittedly they have gone up in price compared to years past. Although to be fair, a lot of business have raised prices since the pandemic. Anyway the carwash does it's job and is able to thoroughly clean the car. Just a friendly advice. On the way out towards the exit, drive slowly as the blower will activate at the end. If you drive too fast, chances are your car will still be looking really wet instead of dry. read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a gas station. They force you to go in a certain direction and if you don't then they lock the gas pump.

This was my first time pumping gas here, and it will also be my last. I chose to put my car in reverse because there were waiting for cars. I pulled in the wrong way, and the woman inside locked the pump as a result. Additionally, she yelled at me over her speaker, urging me to leave. These people rather have a bunch of cars waiting in line, what a joke. Take your service to the 7-Eleven down the street. read more

I entered the car wash , choosing the $8 car wash, not only they have charged me $10 the car wash didn't have a dryer, basically you wash the car and the car is still wet. I entered the shop to tell the lady and she's screaming " talk to the person outside, I parked there's and an older fake smile person told me that's the new technology car wash with clean water .. no one wiped the vehicle so at least have a dryer to make sure no marks are staying on the vehicle. Zero stars if I could. I purchased gas and a car wash at the pump. Upon pulling up to the wash it was blocked off as inoperable .Went inside to get a refund. No refund. This Arco branch has consistently had the lowest gas prices in San Diego for as long as I can remember! As a result, this place can be a real nightmare when it comes time to refuel because of the lines! I dont care what time of day or night you come, there is always a line it seems and a very long one at that! The flow of traffic is in one direction here to get into the station so dont even think about being sly and trying to enter in from the opposite direction and going against the flow of traffic. You will get called out by either the employees or the other patrons who are waiting to get gas. This is is a cash only station which explains why they can keep their prices low compared to the competition. There is also a convenience store on the property stocked with the usual items. Long lines are a pain so I recommend hitting this place up like 4 in the morning or some other odd ball hour. Recommended for those trying to save some coin at the pump. read more

This is "THE" Gas station everyone goes to. Hands down the cheapest gas in San Diego. This is the gas station everyone went to. Like the previous review said, it does get crowded, and it really irritating when people are on the street waiting. Come on people! This gas station ain't going nowhere!!! They will not serve you if you pull in or if your car is facing the other way. Don't mess with the flow! Damn I love this gas station. Another thing I love about this gas station, is that when your gas door is on the other side, don't worry, just pull the gas pump, and the pump will actually twist with ease (your gas pump won't be upside down). This place has improved a lot over the years. I remember when the pumps were all ghetto and all vandalized. Now its all neat and clean. The store inside has more room now, it actually looks empty. The only thing I buy here is either soda or chips. Other than that, the store is pretty well stocked. I bought my lottery ticket here, and I won $20 ;) The reason why I said this is "The" gas station. Ask everyone you know that lives around the neighborhood, and ask them where they got their gas when they were broke, or where they got their gas after getting off work or school (Morse 03!). If not for the lines out of the driveway and onto the street, this place would get 5 stars from me! I constantly find myself making a U-turn instead and driving home to try at another time or going to the Valero on Skyline (which is at least 3 cents higher per gallon every time). The gas is always the cheapest I see around town. In fact, when my empty gas light turns on I squeeze out every possible gas droplet out of my car to make it to this Arco. On one occasion, the light turned on when I was driving through the downtown S curve and made it in time to fill up. My only complaint aside from their long lines is that ever since the new gas pumps have been installed, I cannot leave the pump unattended because it always slips off of the continuous latch. A little tedious, but this gas station has saved me money in the past so I can't be too mad at it. read more

I have been going to this gas station since the late 1990s and they usually always have the lowest gas prices in the area. It's a very good gas station, and even though they've been through several renovations over the years, the customer service never ceases to change. They're always good, and tact with swiftness. One downside is that there is always a line that is blocking Meadowbrook and Paradise Valley Road. And I mean there is always a line, except probably very late at night. The business is not the problem, it's more the customers at times. Some of them leave their cars unattended, and they start buying other things besides gas. If they're going to buy other things, I suggest that they park in the parking lot adjacent to the gas station instead of creating a bigger line. read more

I used to love this gas station, but I feel like it's gone downhill the past year. My most frustrating concern is when I go to get gas and have to wait in a long car line, it frustrates me that they can't fix their debit card readers, which apparently don't read debit cards anymore. (I've tried 3 different debit cards at multiple pumps on multiple occasions.) Not only do I have to wait in the car lines, but then I have to "See Cashier" inside (waiting in yet another line). It would be so nice if you just got your card readers to actually work. read more

Really long lines and the employees aren't the friendliest bunch. And be careful which way you pull into the pump, if you go the wrong way they actually ask you to turn your car around... This Gas station is near my house. Valero is closer but I go here more times than Valero because while I don't like the 35 cent fee to use my debit card it's better than being charged a dime a gallon extra which in my case would be $1.20 if I was on Empty. While they are a part of BP they don't honor the BP Driver Award card. But I haven't found a Arco in San Diego that does I like the fact that I can get a car wash too. I don't spend my money at convenience stores so I can't review this. I only pay at the pump so I can't tell you if they are friendly or not. I have found that while not always the cheapest they are usually cheapest in the neighborhood. In my personal experience more times than not they don't have windshield washers or the fluid to wash them with. I'll add a star if they consistently have the fluid and washers available and drop the Debit card fee. I'd add another star too if they roll back the car wash fees to what they were before they raised the prices. The place is always busy. So be prepared to wait in line. I seem to get a little better mileage using Arco than Valero, Thrifty or some of the others. read more

Man I love this Arco. If you live or have ever lived in Paradise Hills, you have probably waited in line to get gas here. During the day, there's ALWAYS a line! Lol that only time I've been here with NO line is at 4am. They are cash only. I used to search for change in my car to get gas here. What I love about this joint is that there's only ONE way in. And don't try to cut cause they will call you out over the intercom and tell your punk ass to MOVE. And don't even THINK about pulling up to the pump the wrong way. The whole station is ONE WAY. So if you want to be slick and pull your car up to the pump facing the opposite way. They will just call you out on the intercom and tell your punk ass to MOVE. Get in line just like ERRRRRBODY ELSE! Gas station attendant named Tammy caused a scene when I informed her car wash was not working. I have been getting my car washed at this station for 2 years and will no longer return. - When I left the car wash (the Better for $9) I found that my car still had a lot of dirt on the right side when I exited and stopped to vacuum. I went inside and spoke to Ronald (possibly Robert? My apologies if I don't have your name correct), who gave me another car wash. Also noted, I saw a white car leave the car wash with a lot of dirt on the rear of their car and told this to Ronald as well. - Upon entry for the 2nd car wash, the car wash started and put soap on my car, but rather than rinse it off the car the air vents began and the Exit sign came on. - Tammy had been outside smoking a cigarette and saw the machine cut off mid wash. Rather than help me, she said in a rather loud voice once I went back into the store - with other customers there - that it was my issue because I wasn't on the car wash properly. I saw the red light come on, and the exit sign come on right after. I've been here a few times and let's be real; getting on the car wash isn't rocket science. And even if my tires were on the wrong area, the machine would direct me to back up or come forward. - She was about to leave my car with soap on it and no rinse. I told her I'm not leaving until the soap is off my car; I paid 9$ for a car wash and that was all I was requesting. What was even more shocking was her attitude; she was very accusatory and aggressive where she should be helpful. I spoke to Ronald and she said she has had many issues with customers in the past and has personal issues in her life. Fortunately, Ronald was there to help me and gave me the Best Wash, which took all the dirt and soap off of my car. - It should also be noted that the person in front of me for the 3rd car wash paid for the Best Car wash and was only given the Basic. That car wash has issues, and rather than be aggressive towards customers Tammy should be helpful, especially when there is a lot of competition in the area. I will be calling the manager on Monday; whoever owns this establishment, you should know that Tammy is costing you money and is losing you customers. read more

I would give it no stars if possible. This gas station has the worst set up in the entire country. Tiny, and one way only. I have been waiting for gas for 45 minutes. Everyone has pumps on the same side so only two lanes of cars the other side of the pumps have no cars at them but you can't back up to those pumps it's not allowed. It offers the cheapest gas price that I know of. But if you will use debit card, they will charge you 35 cents for the transaction. What I do before I fill up my tank is to withdraw cash from my ATM to pay for my gas in cash. Sounds inconvenient though but still you can avail of the cheap gas price.
