The first time we were there, I sat and waited for him. Everyone working there was so nice. A regular customer came in for his shave with his wife. They were both quite elderly and she had Parkinson's. The barbers both knew them well and were so sweet to them during their visit --I was already tempted to return just because of their kindness and patience, but the haircut itself was such a winner, he has no reason to stop going there! As an added bonus, for Christmas they have a Santa leaning into a sink by the window, surrounded by meerkat toys. Gotta love a place with a sense of humour.

There was an extra barber chair when I walked in and they immediately sat me down with no wait time. I was surprised to feel so welcomed by them and no awkward feeling despite being a stranger. Even after giving only a vague idea of what I wanted, the barber immediately went to work. I can't remember his name because it wasn't one I had heard before but he ended up eventually settling in London after a long journey via the Netherlands as a war refugee from Iraq in the 90's. The haircut was quick and efficient, and they waxed my ears which was a strange experience, but overall I felt like I came to the right place. If I lived in the area I would definitely come again.
