I don't usually take to the Internet to write reviews but actually I feel it's necessary to share my experience with others.
I found this place as an online deal and I saw so good reviews online and thought I would try it out. I wish I hadn't.
It is basically a gents barbers and they must have recently decided to change the salon to a unisex Salam (renamed online but not the front of the shop) and it has all the feelings of a gents barbers (which is fine... If they didn't cut women's hair as though your at a gents barbers).
I arrived early for my appointment with bibi and had to wait 25 minutes to be seen (ironically because the lady before me was arguing with the hairdresser that she hadn't cut her hair as requested and she was unhappy with her haircut). At this point I was considering turning around and walking out, to which I didn't because I thought 'don't judge a book by its cover'. Unfortunately every page of the book got worse.
I wasn't asked how I wanted my hair cut (you know when they check before its washed to see the current style of your hair etc). The hair wash took all of 1 minute and no conditioning, and I was promptly sat in the chair and asked "right so how much do you want off"?!
To that I was almost speechless and wanted to run away, but it was too late. I asked for a long bob and all the dead ends cut, one layer throughout and a slight gradient at the front. Now, I kid you not... This cut took all of 5 minutes (being generous) and suddenly the blow dryer was out and we were done. The blow drying straight too the longest, which I didn't even want as my thin hair dryer straight looks like my hair is glued to my head. Upon prompting she then cut into my ends to avoid that block hair look (which in hindsight I wish I had left as it may have avoided the multiple lengths I now have in my hair).
Basically all of this was finished with 25 minutes (including the wash and 'consultation') as they were closing up the shop so we're obviously rushing. The end result is my hair seems flatter than before, the ends seem just as split and I have quite significantly different lengths going on at the front and back of my head. Honestly I don't like to moan, but this has to be the worst, least skilled haircut I have ever had. Upon describing it to my brother he said it sounds like she cut my hair as a barber would cut hair, and this is exactly what it felt like.
So now I'm £30 out of pocket, and I hear you asking why I didn't ask for a refund? Bibi was making such a fuss about the girl before me saying she didn't want to pay, and she was quite an intimidating character, so I didn't dare mention it.
But serves me right for trying to find a bargain, off I go to pay now for a proper haircut to sort out this mess.
I hope to save anyone else from any future disasters. read more
